Sorry you have been having bad dreams Mooloo, they sound horrific :( I wonder if you trying not to worry means things are being bottled up inside?

Anyway, I wonder if your local town has a business page on Facebook? Mine does and people are allowed to advertise what they do. There is also a chat page where people can ask for advice and people are often looking for alterations to be done. If you are a member you can tell them your shop is there if they need you ;)

Yes I am on Facebook, on local sites including a local BGG site, which is Brackley gossip girls! Everyone asks who does what on there a lot.
Also a On the high street, and a retailers page. So I spend a lot of time on Facebook!
I have several pages set up aimed at the different aspects of the business.
Another busy day, and finally there is money to bank on Monday. I will have around £350 to bank.
I also have some £500 worth of work in to do.
    So things are looking up.
I shall be sewing in the evenings too at this rate.
I may yet see a wage by the end of the month. That would be nice.

So glad to hear DS and gf have been offered a house Mooloo, that will be one worry off your mind at any rate. Hopefully they will be able to obtain furniture etc - I know there are charities that help with things like that. Glad you've had more business in too :j

They have the basics in storage, but we will rally around and help them if we can.
It's a huge relief, and he may have a job soon too!
Baby is due in 3 weeks so let's hope that it waits until they are in. Obviously they won't be settled but at least they will have a roof over their heads, and as long as they behave, and pay the rent etc it should be pretty secure.
Work has been the best this week, so far.
Hopefully it will continue. I had a lot of familiar faces coming in, as well as new ones. Had 8 new jobs today, which is high for a Saturday, and with My fellow MSE'r collecting her curtains and blinds today, I have some money to bank. I also used the card machine for the first time. Need to go and check the paperwork to find out when it's due to pay into the bank.
Now I'm off to sleep. X

A morning of housework. I didn't wash up last night, so that's where I started. That lead to a kitchen clean up. - and two of the pans etc cupboards sorted, and a black sack full of old margarine tubs, lidless tubs, old tins and random items I really don't use worked it's way out of the house to the recycle bins etc.
The washing from the week folded and out up stairs, my stuff folded away and Kondoing! A sack of clothes from the loft etc had been washed, etc and decided that most can go too. Now in the car and can go to the shop, and or the charity rag bag.
Today's washing is in the machine, and as it's raining it's on a tumble cycle with it, so taking a lot longer.
The cats are now venturing out, timidly. So trying to get them to use the window to save me keep opening the door for them.
DGD is doing her reading, and now waiting to be picked up to go to Messy Church.
While she is there I am going to pop down to the shop and do some curtains that need doing.
Try and get ahead of my weeks schedule, as I have 5 full days already mapped out on the planner, without any of the jobs due to come in during the week.
I know some are due as people have been calling etc and asking info. Prices and turn around.
I had hoped to have a go on the bike but the rain has changed that idea.

Spent the afternoon working, making a set of curtains with ring top, header tape. Jupiter I think they are called. While DGD was at messy church. Luckily for me I had help! It took us both 3 hours to sort out the curtains, while my friend had DGD at messy church.this evening I indulged in a hot bath, a glass or three of wine, call the midwife, mr Selfridge, and a night off.
I know my week ahead is already fully booked up with jobs.
So here is to a good week ahead

Yesterday was a busy day. Didn't stand around chatting at the school gates, it was too cold. I leant Twin1 my big coat on Friday night, so had a lighter weight one I had made on!), brrrr
I finished two small jobs left over from the weekend just between school and opening, and then tackled the jobs on my planner. Had to change a few around between today's, as needed to be upstairs in the workshop and staff had to go home. So that's my priority this morning.
banked £325 Which was good. then there was a payment in the bank for one of the evening class lessons booked.
By the end of the day I have £90 more to bank, with £6 going on stock items my foraging car boot extraordinaire found for me.
But the biggest news of the day is that the local Cobbler is closing his doors, to work from home. Which means that I am going to be an agent for him, a drop off and collection point, hopefully it will mean he still can service the towns shoe needs, and I will get 20% of the money.
Obviously it may not be much, ( or he wouldn't be closing his doors), but every little helps.
In the evening it was a mad dash of collecting and dropping off as DGD had brownies after afterschool club. Needless to day we had chips from the chippy in our 20 minute window!
So, the card machine is now up and running in the shop, and we will see if that makes a difference too. Two payments so far, waiting to see how long they take to actually hit the bank.
    Onwards and upwards we go!!

Evening. It's been a busy, bitty day today, with not as much accomplished as I would have liked. The morning started a little late as I was talking to the shop keeper next door.- and as I went into my shop I was followed in by a customer. The day was full on, with lots and lots of passing trade people coming in for a browse. Several people driving through the town not having been here before.
Lots of questions, a few small sales. About £50 on the card machine, but I didn't get around to cashing up, as gentleman kept be talking at the end of the day and then I had to dash.
I had two ladies, come for the morning Sewing Surgery. So I had to stop doing my alterations and help and guide them. But it was enjoyable and I'm glad I could help them out.
Then this afternoon my new knitting lady arrived, but as we didn't have any takers on the course we had planned, she did some unpicking for me, while I dealt with customers, phone calls, ordering and the like. I did some alteration prepping, but too many interruptions to do all I had targeted, and quite a few new jobs in.
Twin1 and her Bf popped over as they brought DS and his GF over for a midwifed appointment. So I gave her some jumpers from the sale rail, that fur her better and arranged the weekend. Then this evening I took DS and gf back to the travel lodge. The house is not ready yet, and may not even be theirs. It's 3 weeks till the baby us due, and gf told me it's her birthday on Monday. ( hadn't known that one). So no doubt DS is going to want to borrow something to get her a gift!).
I'm tired now, and think I need to get done rest. My back/shoulder/arm is not very good, so more heat then, dig out the tense machine, and tomorrow I have my massage booked.
The Avon lady is due with my 8 ways dress! That would be interesting.

Well the card machine has started to be used now. So we will see if that increases sales etc
half day closing, I was supposed to close at 12, but as I was working at the desk people kept rattling the doors and knocking! So had hoped to catch up on some work but actually had more interruptions then jobs done.
    :(
This afternoon I had my monthly massage to get the muscles in knotted etc
Hopefully I will have a decent nights sleep too.
DS didn't get the job after all, and still no news of when they can get the house. Gf is very stressed. Told her not to stress as baby could arrive early. Well it could arrive any time now as she only has 3 weeks to go!
I wish I had a magic wand to wave to help them.
Today I collected DGD from school, so we have spent a bit more time together.

Lots on my mind, so didn't sleep very well and am tired this morning. Gave up trying to sleep at 6 o'clock as my alarm goes off at 6.30
-should I say went off now.
I have a very long list of jobs to do. Business is brisk on the alterations side.
No time to do the makes, and need to find time to do the accounts.
I need a better routine, and filing system in place.
May need to rethink the accounting package I have, as it's not as suitable to what I do as when I was working from home.
I will think on, and try to allocate time each day to get it back up to speed, or it will hinder me with officialdom before I know it.
I need to be more aware.
So now I'm awake, I shall try and get on with some housework, and sorting of paperwork here at home, and seperate work from home bits!
No news to report about any of the young adults.
The cats are still with me, and I'm still not exactly enamoured and my carpet is ruined. The smell of them is horrible. The litter that gets scattered when they use the tray seems to get everywhere!
And of course it's now costing me money, as Biggest hadn't been bringing litter or food this last two weeks.
I must call her and make a note of it. I can't afford cats when I can't afford a wage yet. Living off of the tax credits is already £60 a week down since I started the shop.
Time to make a move now I have drunk my tea and read my mail.
    Have a good one!
