Stupidly I still feel traumatised!
I love my family to distraction. My Granddaughter is my life!
Why I get such bad dreams is silly in some ways. But in my never stopping brain it's tough.
I worry. I stress.
I thought over the last 8 months things had changed and is got over all my problems, so these dreams should have just been dreams. Somehow today has just felt traumatic. Daft it may be. But I feel vulnerable, isolated and judged! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Could it be you've got twins new baby on your mind and are worrying about that child been removed or even DS's baby?
I often find whenI have nightmares about my children it's actually linked to some other fear or worry x0 -
It is a worry about twins new baby, and DS's it's true. But I was trying not to think much about them, and to not get excited about them etc. Keeping myself a bit detached from them really. No baby clothes shopping etc.
The dream was definitely DGD, as she is now, even with the haircut I did Sunday, and clothes in her wardrobe now. A very distinctive dress.
Anyway, I hope to feel better today. Another night of weird dreams, but not
As bad as the night before. The old dream of packing and never getting it finished raised it's head instead. Can cope with that one. It's a dream I get regularly, although interestingly this time I was not in my normal hotel packing, but outside!!
Today I have to go to a customers house to quote for replacement curtain linings, sofa covers etc.
Not my favourite work, but I've done it all before.
it's half day closing, so a busy morning ahead, but time at home later to actually get some jobs done at home. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Good Afternoon from a less stressed Moo.
Although as usual my time has run away with me, I am coming from a much better place today. Banking some money yesterday helped.
This morning I had a lovely surprise in the post, a selection of buttons from a fellow MSE'r, and a beautiful dress to use. I had been contacted about the buttons, but the dress was a total surprise! A wonderful lift to my mood, and a timely reminder that on the whole things are not as dark as I sometimes feel.
This afternoon I have been out to a customers home, to measure up and quote for soft furnishing replacements.
I have 15 minutes to have a cup of tea before I go and collect DGD from school.
Hopefully I will be back on track totally by tomorrow. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I walked to school to collect DGD, as the sun was out, but so was a bitter wind. She chose her World Book Day book, I have to pay for it this morning.
I worked out a quote for the customer, based on how many hours I expect it all to take etc, and remembering how much I need to be earning per hour to cover the shop overheads etc. ( after a long discussion with another sewing lady). Broken down each project, and it doesn't seem too bad. But add them all up and it's about £1,000 Erm well we will see if she wants the work done or not then.!!!
But there is no point taking on a huge job and still not making any money.
I have set up an additional page on Facebook for showing my nearly new clothing, and hope more will see what I have to offer, and reserve/order things.
One dress sold immediately it went up, so I think in the mornings when I get into the shop, I shall choose a few garments to photograph and feature, and see if I can generate some attention, and better still some sales.
I get the evening off today, as one lady can't make it, so the other has said we can do it another week.
I was too tired to do much last night, so I need to do the dishes, get DGD up a little earlier to wash her hair, and have my shower etc.
I need to get into the shop as early as I can as I have four zips to replace in some trousers for a customer today, and only managed 2 1/2 pairs yesterday. She is due to collect today.
Then I have my blinds to finish, now I have my hacksaw etc to amend the rods.
I was in bed by 8pm last night. Only up once, and although a variation on the theme of trying to pack, it was a better dream! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
My day did not go according to plan, but when does it ever?
I got into work about 20 mins earlier by not stopping for a chat at the school gate. I finished the trousers zips, ( then the person never came to collect). I had a man knocking before I was due to open with a job, and then it was a busy day, with enquiries, fittings etc
But also a bit of a layout change all due to the arrival of the card machine that had to be plugged in by my desk and the by line and internet.
So as the wires were dangerously across my access I had to move my desk, the display tables, and then an area of clothing had to change, as I had another 14 jobs come in. I needed more hanging space for the alterations!
I did manage to work on the roman blinds. Just one to finish today then they will be ready for tomorrow for the customer to take to their home.
I sat back at 5 o'clock and did a spreadsheet plan of the jobs I have to do, the amount of money due in, waiting for collection, £150 worth, and the value of what's still to do £477. Not counting the prices for the blinds etc or including the things that the lady from the big house wants doing.
So the shop alterations are back on track.
Now we need to get staff focused on selling the clothes stock.
Hopefully the card machine will help.
I watched the Sewing Bee last night, and still think the Army Fella will win.
Lorna a close contender.
I must organise our own sewing bee!
On that note it's time to get up, get DGD to my friends, before school, so I can take DS and gf to a council meeting, hopefully about their house, and to move them from one travel lodge to the other. DS has a job interview today as well. Here is hoping.
The work is coming in, which is such a relief. 14 jobs yesterday, so that's the second highest number in one day.
If I can get motivated, not distracted, hopefully I can work hard and shake the black dog off! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
We will declare a good day.
Timings went well and I managed to actually get back to the shop by 10am. I caught up and finished the blinds, napkins. - and several other jobs. Also had more in, and about £100 with of collections and a few small sales.
DS and gf have been offered a two bed roomed house by the council, but we don't know the dates yet.
A huge relief.
The sun was out which brought people in. Again asking how long I had been there, 6 months today!!!
And surprise they never noticed me before. I did feel like saying "no s.h.i.t. Sherlock", to some of them as I have seen them walk past my windows many a time.
This evening Twin2 and her BF came over to collect some baby things I have for them, and I got them to collect DGD from after school club ( called and gave permission), and while they did that I worked an extra hour with the shop shut it meant I did a lot more work in that time. Then we went to the local pub for dinner. Made a change for DGD to be with Mum in my presence etc. And although I paid, as it was my idea etc it was a nice change. Two times out in less then a week!
Here is hoping that the good times are going to roleWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Glad all is going well and I'll swell your coffers in the morning

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hope That you will be happy with the work. I enjoyed doing the blinds, but never recycled curtains that were lined before. ( at least not into blinds and napkins!)
Hope we have a bit of time to chat and a cuppa. I don't have any staff tomorrow as my lovely girl has Uni work to do and can't make it.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Sorry you have been having bad dreams Mooloo, they sound horrific
I wonder if you trying not to worry means things are being bottled up inside?
Anyway, I wonder if your local town has a business page on Facebook? Mine does and people are allowed to advertise what they do. There is also a chat page where people can ask for advice and people are often looking for alterations to be done. If you are a member you can tell them your shop is there if they need you:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0
