It did cross my mind it could have been Mum's, or contact with family from hell there! I will tell Mum to treat herself. But unless I buy the product I doubt she would do much about it.
I will have to buy another bottle as there isn't enough to do all of Mum and her BF's hair.
But it could still have been school last week. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning, here is hoping for a better day today, the opportunity to be open my set hours, and to have new jobs in, as well as older jobs collected, it would be good to have a few browsers purchasing some of my makes and nearly new clothes!
Am I being too greedy? No, I need to make up for time lost, and to cover the bills. I have the rent money, but still need about £600 for the other bills and wages by the end of the month.
I made a thermal bag yesterday, here at home, which will be posted off today. I also got an order for another one, but it's not needed until the Summer. But I shall look out the fabric from the loft ( I hope), and get it done, and tomorrow afternoon, when at home I will start to make extra ones ready to sell.
twin1, DGDs Mum asked to have her for the day today, originally because her BFs sister/nieces etc were coming up to visit, but later last night they cancelled the visit. By then I had cancelled the childcare, so DGD is still going to visit Mum. I will take the Headlice stuff! I also had bought the repellant so will spray DGD's hair this morning!
Just incase!
I don't have staff today, so at least I don't have wages to pay out for this week. But it does mean I will have to divide my time between alterations, reception, and shop layout, and stock etc
I hope to do some new Upcycling, and go back to doing at least an hour at the end of the day working on some new makes. I have a table booked at a function in July, that will also need stock to showcase my work.
Then on the home front, I have a lot of clutter to still deal with, and a challenge to raise £1400 for my summer holiday. As I am not earning a wage from the shop yet, it means we are living off of the Tax Credits and DGDs child benefits.
Selling what is surplus would really help!
So onwards, upwards, and positive head on so that I can start to achieve results! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I do understand it's a new start up business, and don't want to come across as being nosey, but from what you've written things aren't looking too good.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Haven't spoken to an accountant. I'm a little behind the business plan on the teaching side, and am looking at figures etc.
I wasn't expecting to earn anything myself for the first 9 or so months, as I knew the one off costs for signage, logo, fixtures and fittings etc would be needed.
Now all that had been done, it will start to be easier. I hope.
I am getting new people in every day, and am confident as the weather improves the people will be out in the town again. It's very quiet for all the traders around me, we were discussing it just the other day.
Just having my lunch break. This morning has been a busy one. Fingers crossed, laptop is back so I can get those facts and figures worked on, and see what I need to do to improve. My advert is still not out, hoping that will not be delayed much longer. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Good luck, but do keep a very beady eye on costs and projections; think about worst case scenarios and risk assessments and how they can be managed..................

Today we got in 16 new jobs. Mostly small jobs, but all good.
It's my Mums birthday, so I have been over to see her today ( and Dad of course). DGD was with her Mum and her BF, but it appears Mum went back to bed most of the day. But the BF did take her to the park for a while.
The thermal Bag I made yesterday was posted. Now I need to get some fabric from the loft and make more when ever I can. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning, feeling tired as I kept waking up, my mind was too busy!
Lots to tackle.
Today is early closing day, usually quiet, so I shall just crack on with the makes I have to do.
DGD is back at Holiday Club today. But I will be collecting her early so we can get her passport photo done.
I also need that trip up into the loft for fabrics.
But for now, it's time to finish my cup or tea and open up the shop. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Afternoon. I had a quiet morning in the shop, a few people asking questions, but no more new work. I caught up with a bolster cushion cover that was a when ever job. At home I made a salad for my lunch, following a recipe I found via Abel & Cole, shredded cabbage, matchsticks of apple, thinly sliced leeks, ( wilt the later by pouring over some boiling water, mixed together, and added French dressing/or dressing of your choice.
It was very nice served with pitta bread).
Then I have been up in the loft to get some fabric I needed for another thermal bag. Unfortunately for me a lot of my things are getting damp up there still. I have brought a bag of my clothes down from the loft and am starting to wash them. Then when laundered I will decide if they are to be kept, or sold, or charity bagged.
It's nearly time to go and get DGD from Holiday Club, and go and get her photograph taken for her new passport.
It's a lovely sunny day here again, always lifts the spirits.
I'm hoping the sun will give me a bit more energy, so I can work on the decluttering a bit more today.
I'm struggling to declutter at the moment. Although I have another pillowcase full of odd socks and tights? Why am I keeping them???
So that's one bag that's going out the door today. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I managed to do three loads of washing, and after dinner I went through a pile of clothing, and a laundry basket full of clothes. There is a bag of clothes to go to the shop, and 1/2 a bag ready for rag.
I really need to be more ruthless with the clothes, my wardrobe is still too full, and there is more summer clothes vacuum bagged above the wardrobe.
I will have to find the strength/resolve to go through it all again soon.
But I couldn't bring myself to throw out much more last night.
Today is a full day at work, then week four sewing lesson tonight.
So it won't be tonight.
Time to get moving. My alarm went off at 6.30 and I'm still sitting up in bed!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Yesterday was a busy day. Biggest of Mooloo's brought DGD2 over to see the cats, and helped me with a bit of decluttering in my kitchen. She is going to come over next Wednesday evening for tea, and to give me a hand to be more ruthless with the decluttering.
I was in and out again by 7 for the evening lesson. So it was 9.50 before I got to eat my evening meal.
Today has been a day on my computer, trying to email out the info for my workshops, I have arranged a deal with Silver to give away the Accessories box worth £35 with the Overlockers, I'm selling at the moment. Hoping to generate some interest in the machines etc.
The shop is deathly quiet. It's a bit daunting at the moment, although I am getting work it's slowed down dramatically. Mind you it has given me time to work on the computer today. The sewing jobs that are in can be caught up on Monday without loosing my time scale quoted.
The electric bill for the month has gone out today. Leaving me perilously low. Every £ will be needed the rest of the month to cover the overheads.
Hence promoting today. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
