Mooloo try bed raising blocks for your table.

Margaret54 I joined craftsy last year and paid for a sewing course. Some of the things taught were things I already knew but there was a lot that I didn't know so it has been well worth it. I had never been taught proper fitting so it is useful for that. I paid half price for it when they had a special offer which they do frequently.

I have learned about a few useful tools on the course that I didn't know existed and I bought them from @m@zon. They have made things so much easier.

The real beauty of the courses is that they are always there and you can go back over bits if you need a reminder unlike the college course I did where if I forgot something I couldn't just ring the tutor and ask her for info while I was in the middle of something. I can email the tutor on this course if I have a question.

I am building up to using a course to help me make a Chanel style jacket that fits perfectly.

I also joined Craftsy - a very long time ago. Sometimes I add new courses just so that I can refresh my memory, or add latest techniques. I have thought about Residential Courses, but haven't really managed to work out time to visit the local B & Bs to discuss packages. However I am rather afraid that currently I need a life at home. It's been tough on DgD being cared for from 8am- 6pm several days a week, or 9-5 on the others. Sunday is the only day we have together.
Maybe when the shop has expanded enough for me to employ an alterations team, then I could re arrange my days. But at the moment I am more worried about getting burn out!
I have to walk before I can run.

Last night I went to the cinema with Biggest of Mooloos. Made a change to have time with her. She cooked me a lovely meal too. But it meant it was 1am before I got to bed. Needless to say I am tired this morning.

Baby steps mooloo. It has been a very short period of time since you started this venture. You will get there.

"Optional" spends always take a dive in January & Feb. That is why many restaurants close in Jan. My hairdressers' tip boxes were completely empty when I was in a couple of weeks ago, which is also not normal. Once Febs pay day has arrived things will be back to normal, so anything you do now to get ahead will be a good idea & pay off.

I had a reasonable day, not many actual jobs in today, but lots of questions, can I do xyz, how much too? A few more new faces looking at the secondhand fabrics, and another few asking about lessons etc
My children that come in for lessons have been again, one wanted to make a love cushion. Well we made an appliqu! on to a pillowcase.
Another brought some clothes to alter. Her Mum stayed to help her, and when we transformed a few things, she was bitten by the bug too. She said she will be back in herself.
If those asking about jobs return then that will be a bonus.
Biggest popped by to collect a DVD we talked about, and noticed the new signs! She couldn't stop as she was taking DS and his GF to anti natal classes.

I'm tired today and not doing anything really has made me worse.
Playing with the cats- which is a new novelty as I am still not used to them.
Cooked egg sandwiches for brunch, so that tells you we were late up!
I have a gammon joint in the oven for the evening meal, and meals in the week. Two loads of washing done, but that's about all I have done!
The declutter has come to a holt! I need a boost of energy to get me going again. I've also a pair of jeans to repair for Biggests of Mooloos partner.
Maybe that will get me moving again.
Well I will move the washing on now, and check the gammon, then perhaps if I don't sit down again I might get around to doing a few other little drawers etc

Morning. I watched Call the Midwife in bed, then went to sleep. I woke a few times, but not too bad.
The birds are singing out side my bedroom window, as the day kicks off. DGD has Holiday Club, and I have my usual hours at work.
I don't have any staff to help me this week, so fingers crossed I can cope with all the various jobs by myself.
The first being the floor needs a mop as on Saturday several people came in with muddy feet, and didn't wipe their feet on the large mat!!
I was too sore to do it when I shut.
I also had to collect DGD from her Mums.
Here is to a productive and prosperous week ahead.
That I will get in more jobs, and those who owe me money will come and collect. I am also wishing for a few more sales of the nearly new clothes!
    Time to get moving.
Have a good day everyone, and if your off for half term, hope the weather improves so days out can be enjoyed.

    Stalled at the first hurdle!
DGD has the dreaded wee beasties, head lice, so I had to collect her from Holiday Club, get treatments for us, and that had meant closing the shop!
So no money in, no new jobs, and still all the overheads to pay out.
I have an order for a thermal bag, so brought some fabric home to do that and hopefully, I will try and be productive here at home while we wait for the stuff to work!
    Enforced change of plans!
Left overs heated for lunch, DGD had her lunch in a bag anyway.
So now I have eaten, had a cup of tea, put the treatment on, I shall now go up to my work room here at home and see what I can make while I am home!

Mooloo - where did DGD get the wee beasties? From mum's house? If so, you need her to sort out her own hair - otherwise it's going to be recurring problem.
