I make my yogurt with UHT GP. For a start it means I always have milk in the house (handy when I've been away for work)... and I buy full fat UHT whereas any pasteurised is semi-skimmed so not so good for yogurt. It also means I can guarantee I'll have organic milk for yogurt (village shop doesn't sell it). And I really don't have time for heating up and cooling down. One reason I make yogurt is that I really don't have time to go and buy the stuff every time I run out!

What a frustrating day for you Greying! Some people are just such pratts. I'm sure they gain something from bring awkward and horrid but it's surely easier to be kind and helpful, especially when they are getting paid for it.

INOD you are kind and wise and I have vowed not to tell my family if my plans go ahead.

I hope you get good sleeps everyone, especially those in pain like Lilty or plain fed up!! The wind is howling here in sussex and I'm snuggled up in two duvets! Feels cosy and the cats will probably amble in soon to keep me company.

Pirin is washed and combed downstairs with DD. He's lovely. I promise photos tomorrow! Xx

Hopefuljoy - good luck with plans. Teacher here too looking for a phased retirement from aged 58 - few years to go yet but I have started digging that escape tunnel! When I started teaching many moons it wasnt unusual to be able to leave at 55 on good early retirement packages......sadly no more:( which is why I am making plans now. If you havent done already then it may be worth asking your union/professional body for advice - they will most certainly have someone who will know all the ins and outs :)

  • Good evening all! GreyingI hope you had a lovely sleep last night and that you have had a much better day today.

I have news of my request for four days per week. My HoD has told me that the headmaster has already said yes in principle and that they are planning timetables over the next five weeks, then I will know for sure what the arrangements will be from September. I am so relieved and positive! I can start to think about the shape of my life in a different way now. Thank you all for your support and I shall let you know how it all goes.

I'm off to early beds tonight as I'm fairly tired after a sleepless night last night. Love to all!
