  • Hello fellow DFW Pound losers,

My diet is not going very well, I am anticipating another gain. Can't seem to focus at all and I seem to be grabbing all the wrong kind of food and not exercising at all.

Since starting this DFW forums in the month of March, yesterday was the first time I because a couch potato again. After coming back from work yesterday, I didn't have the energy nor the inclination to do anything. My hubby and DS's seemed to have read the right signals and allowed me to put my feet up and served me everything I needed. Oh how I enjoyed it. But by bed time guilt was bugging me for losing control.

Tonight I will be going out for a meal with my girlie friends and I am hoping for some self control and ability to choose the healthier options. I live in hope.

I hope you all are as good as gold and I am the only one who has been so naughty.

    Have a good day.

Hi everyone! Firstly - what is up with the new forum! Shock to the system! Dinah and Haras i will include your total lbs next time, no problem.

The Only Girl I go through long periods where I cannot get motivated to do any exercise at all. Maybe something like the 30 day squat app would help to get you back in the habit? It doesn't take much to fit into your day - the shorter sessions you can fit in while cleaning your teeth for example - but it might help you get your exercise mojo back? If I'm in two minds abut exercising I make a pact with myself that i will put my gym clothes on and then see how I feel. It always does the trick and once i'm dressed i feel much more inclined to go.

Something Jillian Michaels said when I saw her on tour (sorry everyone - here I go again!) that stuck with me about choosing healthier options is to play it through in your mind - so if you are tempted by pizza, imagine eating and and how good it tastes but also how you will feel afterwards. If you know you will feel great afterwards, go for it. If you know it will make you feel bloated & rubbish and you have taken the time to imagine the feeling, you will (allegedly!) be less likely to want to eat it.

I am certainly not good as gold - by any means! - and just about manage a lb a week if I'm lucky (or a lb every other week!) but different things work for different people - you will find what works for you if you stick with it. And above all, feeling guilty is a waste of energy! Make your choices and enjoy them x

Thanks for you encouraging words. I will search for this app and will try.

Just came back from our meal with my girlie friends and had a fair share of calories. Because it was a special event, (my friend and I were celebrating our new jobs), I enjoyed every moment of it and I wouldn't let guilt afterwards mar the memories we have had. At least I still consider it very MSE. the restaurant had a meal deal of £4.95 for 3 course meal - minestrone and crispy potato skins for starter, pizza or pasta for main course, and ice cream or coffee for afters. I ordered a small glass of diet coke, and for dessert I had their tapas of mini sweets which included brownies, chocolate fudge cookies and cheesecake. I enjoyed every minute of it and I refuse to listen to the nagging guilty voice in my head.

Well done Haras and HH, and I enjoyed reading your comments Shrimpy and Onlygirl - think you've both got a good attitude, it's all about balance and sustainable changes rather than dieting for me these days...
