I can fully understand why a woman wouldn't want to be in a relationship with a man who had slept with a prostitute. I wouldn't wish to be in a relationship with a woman who used to be a prostitute either.

I have come into contact with alot of prostitutes in the course of my work. Some saw it is a career choice, some saw it as a means to an end and some did it because some bloke was forcing them.

I find it amazing that so many women think their partner would never do it, believe me you would be surprised at how many well respected, well paid men, and some wellknown men use street prostitutes. The thing I hated most was that end of visiting time at the local maternity hospital was like rush hour in the adjoining streets.

I have stood at the school gate picking up my kids looking at other mums whose husbands were kerb crawling in the red light district the night before. If only they knew. I felt awful that I couldn't warn them if I knew their husband was using a girl who carried something like hepatitis or HIV but nature of my work meant it had to be confidential and I am not sure how I could have approached it anyway.

I'd have liked to have pressed the thanks button, but for the sensationalism at the end, it's not only sex workers or stray hubbys that are subject to STI's (it's just like not only smokers get cancer) .
I'm surprised your line of work hasn't exposed you to female's that you were also shocked that are in the industry much to your surpise.

I'm now sitting on the side of the fence that the OP should drop her partner, but not because of the STI's or abusing others, but more for the fact that she knows he can and will go elsewhere for what he is not getting at 'home' and some people cannot deal with that.

If he had unprotected sex with her, hadn't been tested and had then had unprotected sex with me, I'd dump him even if he tested negative.

Those are the two most important points here I feel, with the strongest emphasis being on the second paragraph here. If he were prepared to take risks with my health, then I wouldn't trust him with any aspect of my life and he would certainly be out on his ear.

There was no mention of him having unprotected with either the worker or his partner, as someone else already posted thinking outside the box, that perhaps he told the OP becuase he wants out himself. Looking at some of the posts, it seems it's against the 'rules' to ever drop a female. Also would he be bothered about being out on his ear? He can get solace for less than the price of a bag of chips :eek:

I spent 3 months volunteering and then travelling India and it was very depressing to see young women and children forced into prostitution. They didn't have a choice, they had no other option because of poverty.

It's amusing when you watch films (pretty woman springs to mind) the sex workers are always very attractive, where as the reality is that when you see them on the news, they don't look like (to me) girls I would look twice at in a bar or out and about.
