Lovely day today - DD and the little DGSs came over and the sun was shining most of the day so we were out in the garden most of the time. I've pruned (massacred) the Lavatera and the Buddleia so they should have a growth spurt now and give me lots of flowers in the summer. Just as well because the rest of the planting is definitely focussed on Springtime and is all over by June lol. I've also managed to make space in the shed for my lovely bike and also for DGD's bike so they're not in the dining room any more - phew!
Hope everyone has had a good dayIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
IrishRose gosh it is so sad to lose someone so young, as you say it really does put things in perspective. I'm glad you managed to have a lovely time with you family over the weekend.
freespirit blimey you've got a good memory! To be honest I've only used the steam mop a few times to clean the floors and it seems to do a good job. I haven't used all the little attachments for things yet. I had visions of using it all over the house but I haven't had the chance yet!
Well the big news in our house is that DH is being made redundant. We knew it could happen and it's been confirmed. DH is quite sad as he's been there for a long time but we are actually seeing it as a positive as DH is now going to take a few months off with us so we can spend some quality time together as a family. We are so very lucky to be able to do this so we want to make the most of it. We were looking to move this year but it will have to go on hold until DH works again so we can arrange a new mortgage.
I made cherry tomato sauce with pasta from Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food last night and it was quite tasty and good at the end of a warm day.
On the Christmas front I ordered some half price Molton Brown all spice and frankincense hand cream for MiL, I just hope it will keep ok until Christmas.0 -

You must be so excited. :j A very healthy weight too, I bet you can't wait to see him! Glad to hear he is doing well and I hope DD manages to get a little bit of rest before getting into it all. Keep us posted!
freespirit my steam mop is a Morphy Richards 720020 9-in-1 Upright and Hand Held Steam Mop. As I said I haven't yet had the chance to use it on windows and things but hopefully that will change when DH is off! Oh your migraine sounds horrible, it's so frustrating that it wipes out a whole day for you, hope you're feeling better.
fewer, better things yay for buying your first Christmas present! It's great getting organised early with no panics in December!0
