Thanks folks for the birthday wishes. We went away up to the North Coast of Northern Ireland for a couple of days to a house with no internet access or TV just me, hubby and the Duracell bunny toddler. Great family time and weather wasn't too bad at all. Diet went out the window when I consumed one of the biggest mauds ice creams at the harbour. mmmmm so good.
Having a bit of a time in work at the moment though - there is only three of us in the office. One is the boss and the other is the other girl who works here and for nearly a year since she came back off maternity she has been late every morning and its just getting beyond a joke now. It started off 10 mins now its touching half an hour every morning. Lunch is now starting to creep in too - extra 10 or 15 mins here and there. Nothing is getting said as the boss usually doesn't arrive until after her so doesn't see the morning one. Only way he is going to know is if I bring it to his attention and even then I don't see him acting professionally. Then there is going to be an even worse atmosphere in here. It makes my blood boil. Might seem petty but when I moved around my hours in order to have a little more time with my son I was spoken to about losing the money for the hour and a half that I couldn't make up. Which I was fine with as I wasn't expecting to get paid when I am not working but she's still getting paid and she's not in working.
anyway sorry - needed to get it off my chest and I think my husband is sick of listening to me gripe on.
congrats to MrsMoneypenny on becoming a granny, good healthy weight can only be a good thing. My son was 9lb 2 and I never got to use the wee tiny newborn outfits either he was straight to 0-3 as he was very long too. hope mummy and Alfie doing well.
pixtotts - well done on getting through the funeral - I know its a difficult thing on its own never mind having to stand up and talk at such a hard time but I bet your gran would be dead proud of you doing it.
Irish Rose - so sorry to hear about your friend and that poor family as well, hubby heard about it on news but I had no idea as to be honest I've stopped listening as things just seem to be so bad and depressing at the moment it was bringing me down.
To everyone else - hugs where they are needed, pats on the back where appropriate and smiles all around.
Nothing Christmassy happening here while its been birthday time so maybe get back on the wagon shortly.

Glad you had a lovely birthday Kiwi and sorry to hear about the issue at work. It's always so difficult when someone takes advantage - you don't want to be petty or cause upset but at the same time things should be fair and the boss should be as firm with her as he was with you. Really she's taking advantage not only of the company but also of your good nature. I do hope it gets resolved soon before your blood pressure gets too high!
Well it's hot hot hot here today - lovely. I've got littlest DGS today so we had lunch in the garden then I managed to get him to have a nice sleep in his pram/buggy. He's got a bit of an upset tummy and feeling a bit under the weather (teeth) so we're working our way through nappies at a rate of knots ha ha. Might pop out so he can have a little walk about for half an hour - he's got a thing about walking up people's front paths and back again. Bless himIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
happy belated birthday Kiwi
Not got time atm to write much but bought lots of power rangers figures etc from The Entertainer for DS1's birthday. Power Rangers Action figures he got for Christmas are now only £2.12 each so I have bought a load for party bag fillers for his 4th birthday party. Thought I'd let you know in case there are any more little power rangers fans amongst your gift lists. Evening everyone, i hope everyone has had a lovely day in the nice weather, i have had another migraine day  i go for weeks without one and then a cluster of them so i am obvs in the cluster atm, i even had to bring out the big guns today the icepack but because it was so warm it kept melting quickly, i think i will have to invest in another one
KIWI oh glad you had a lovely birthday and got away from it all,
my DD1 has the same problem as you, other people in her dept coming in late, not turning up for the early shift, long lunchtimes, and its all done when the manager isnt around so they get away with it, or the manager just doesnt deal with it and turns a blind eye, it is so annoying and makes my DD1 so irritated with it all
PEPPAPIG aww glad you had a lovely day with DGS, sorry he is feeling so poorly#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
mrs-moneypenny glad all is well with your new DGS, I love the name Alfie.
My son was 8lbs 3oz when he was born but quickly piled on the weight and has been on the 91st centile ever since! I'm assuming he will thin out a bit once he gets moving!
freespirit so sorry to hear you've had another migrane, I think another ice pack is in order! I hope you don't get another one any time soon.
pixtotts i'm so glad the funeral went well and well done on getting through your speech, such a brave thing to do as i'm sure you were very emotional. Having a lot of people there shows how much she was loved. I'm glad to hear Avon and Etsy are going well. And a new man! Great news that it's all going well, enjoy it!
mrsinvisible lovely to hear you had a good holiday.
Peppapig your DGS sounds so sweet!
_party_ HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY KIWI13! _party_ It sounds like you had a lovely family holiday. It must be so frustrating for you at work. I know it might feel petty but it might be worth mentioning it to your boss as like you say you were told you wouldn't get paid for the time you can't do and it's not fair that someone else is. It might make you feel better knowing that you have done something. I hope it gets resolved!
We've had a busy little time in our household lately getting out and about! Had a couple of picnics in the sun.DH and I also had our first date in 8 months, since wiggle was born. We went to see Alan Carr at a local theatre, DH loves him so I got him tickets for Christmas. It felt quite strange, like something was missing, but we really enjoyed it and made us think that we do need to do things together just the two of us as our relationship is important too. Not that we have a bad relationship, it's just you don't get much quality time when you're busy with a baby.
Well I've made another couple of recipes as part of my new years resolution, i'm slowly trying to catch up! I made the deep fried camembert which unfortunately wasn't as nice as I expected it to be! I think that's me though more than the recipe as i'm not a massive lover of camembert. I also made chocolate shortbread from 'The Great British Book of Baking.' It tasted nice and chocolatey but the texture was like sand so not easy to eat without a cuppa! I wonder if maybe I didn't bake it for long enough, I almost ran out of time as I had to go to the doctors! I don't know, it might have turned out like that anyway.
It's DH's last day at work tomorrow, he's looking forward to family time but also sad about leaving. It's all change around here at the mo, it's going to be strange having him at home all day every day for a few months, hopefully I won't go mad!0 -
Princess, you better get a list of jobs for him to do[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Evening everyone, well today has been much more productive
i also paid all the bills (i feel so much better when they are all paid for the month) i know im a sad person haha. I also ordered amazon vouchers for DS birthday because i know he will only want dvds, i already have DD2 birthday present from the sales,
the downside of having twins (birthdays are very expensive)
i really need to do more surveys i have got very slack at doing them since i got most of my presents in January!!
PRINCESSKITTY aww wiggle will lose it once he starts crawling and then walking, i dont think DD2 or her OH believed me when i said he would be a right chunk at 5-6 months but he is :rotfl:ahh that is lovely getting out just the two of you, i think Alan Carr is hilarious. We have little man for the first time overnight next week  while DD2 takes OH to see the Harlem Globetrotters (his birthday present) i just hope he settles ok for the night they have such a tight routine and although i will follow it, its still being in a different bath, house, bed.....
I dont think i have ever tried camembert, i have always wanted to, the chocolate shortbread sounds yummymy next one is a
Norfolk Vinegar Cake :rotfl::rotfl:Wow i didnt realise DH was leaving so soon!! Hope you all have a wonderful summer together x#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
