Chrissy that sound horrible, hope you're back you your usual self very very soon!
PrincessKitty - hope DH had a good last day, bitter-sweet I would think. I always take the view that these things happen for a reason, one door opens etc., etc. Hope you have some lovely time together while he isn't working and I'm sure in time to come he'll be really grateful for being able to spend some quality time watching Wiggle develop.
Freespirit, I know how you feel. My bills all go out by direct debit during the month but I have a spreadsheet that I keep of all the bank transactions and at the end of every month I make it up with all the payments coming in and going out for the forthcoming month - it gives me a great sense of satisfaction and of being in control when I've done it.
Well I must admit I'm not giving any thought to Christmas at all. I'm keeping ahead with the birthday pressies though and I bought a Pandora macram! bracelet in the Achica sale a few weeks ago for a birthday in May. It came the other day and I'm very pleased with it and it was a great bargain. Now I have to find a baby Anabell that 'cries and wees on a sheep potty' for DGD's 6th birthday at the start of next month! It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Is it me or is the post from CEO211 spam? it doesn't seem to make any sense. Have had a look at another post they made today on another thread and that was sensible but didn't bear any relation to the discussion that was going on either! If it's not spam CEO211, can you explain what you mean? It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

Morning all
Mojo the Christmas shop sounds lovely
Freespirit thank you yes, I'd been working full time last week to cover a gap, didn't realise it would be just one week but the extra hours were lovely and the money will be handy.
Hoping to start cross stitching a Christmas stocking for DGS soon I've bought the kit ready just need the time to do it.
Have a lovely weekend allSPC~12 ot 124
In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
Feisty ha ha, the first job on his to do list is to paint the garden fence!
Freespirit i'm sure DGS will be just fine overnight in your capable hands. How does he sleep at night? Wiggle is still quite rubbish and can wake up anything from 1-6 times a night still. Norfolk vinegar cake sounds strange, I can't imagine it??! Glad you've had a productive couple of days, it's quite satisfying isn't it?
CHRISSYG sorry to hear you've been poorly, it sounds awful. Hope you're on the mend now and looking forward to your time off.
Peppapig yes we think everything happens for a reason too, so we're staying positive!
Mojoworking glad you had such a good time away. I love a good Christmas shop! I went to a lovely one in Edinburgh, it's nice going to proper ones rather than just the pop-up ones at Christmas. I was feeling a bit festive the other day and looked through last years Prima Christmas magazine!
mrs-moneypenny good luck with the cross stitch, I like those stocking kits. I began a kit at the beginning of last year of a map of Gloucestershire (where i'm from) for my parents, i'd planned to give it to them last Christmas but I was so sick last year I didn't get it done. I'm planning to give it this Christmas but must get a move on! Hopefully with DH around for a few months I can spare some time for it.
IrishRose I hope the funeral went as well as can be expected on Thursday, thinking of you. x
Well DH finished work yesterday, I think we're both going to find it a bit strange for a little while. We made a list of things to do last night so that we use the time productively.
My two recipes for this week are Sesame Goujons of Fish with Mushy Peas and Oven Roast Chips from 'Rachel's Food for Living' and Borlotti Bean Soup from 'Two Greedy Italians.' I am falling behind on my Pinterest challenge!0 -
Good morning, Princess Kitty, you are doing great, pinterest will catch up l assure you! l try to avoid it during the day, as l can lose whole ones once l get on there.
Mojo, glad you enjoyed your break, l have never been to Conway, but it is on my bucket list.
Freespirit, will you stop shaming me? When the sun is shining l am in the garden and the house gets neglected. l have a friend who also has a chronic back pain problem, and when he has to do any redecorating, takes his painkillers and just takes off like a rocket, gets the work done and then is rubbish for a couple of days. DON'T let that be you, and please get the prescriptions for your ADs and BP meds filled xxxxx
ChrissyG, lurgy is horrid, hope you are well and truly over it, and enjoy your time in York, a city l really love.
My friends daughter had her second baby yesterday, another lovely son, calling him Ollie, friend is over the moon, l have been given 'baby bathing rights' as l am Godmother to Ollie's mum.
Another neighbour called yesterday to deliver an invite to her 80th birthday. honestly she looks no older than me!!! l always thought she was mid 60's so got a shock.
l did a quick(ish) count of greenhouse occupants and have around 4,000 plants in there! so l offered to fill some tubs for summer to my neighbour at the back (the one who built the fence last year) and he offered to clean the roof of the conservatory for me (the bit that Nev the shred couldn't reach) as he has a scaffold platform he can use to get the extra height. l am truly blessed with great neighbours.0
