Evening everyone, had a fantastic day with little man, he was an absolute angel, then DD2 came home from work upset, because 2 stupid people at work had said how they thought it was selfish to ask grandparents to look after grandchildren :mad: knowing full well that that is what DD2 is doing, 2 days with me, 1 day with OHs mum, 1 day at nursery and until he is 1 one day with DD2 on her A/L day off a week, she asked me if i was really happy to have him??? SERIOUSLY??? I adore him, and cant get enough of him :D

PRINCESSKITTY no DD2 finds it hard as well, she cant do it, i know, i know :D:D i knew you would say that haha, i will let you know what camp i fall into.

MRSMONEYPENNY aww its such a lovely thing, i hope it all goes well for DD2, you have got a busy couple of weeks coming up :)

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY erm what new layout??? Have i missed something?? :D

GTQ - I'm with Freespirit, I'm not seeing a new layout either. I do hope they're not trialling another change, I like things to stay as they are - it's like when they move the stuff around in the supermarket and I end up forgetting half of what I want lol.

Freespirit, some people are so fond of their own opinions they don't seem to be able to comprehend that not everyone agrees with them. I have littlest DGS one day a week and my sister has older one, just to give DD a break and some time to herself, and I love it. Will probably have the boys more often once DD goes back to college - hope my energy lasts out. I also have DGD for a few days each school holidays and for two weeks (not consecutively, I'm not that strong lol) in the Summer holidays. I'm sure some people do get taken advantage of but for me, like you, it's a privilege to be able to spend the time with them but if I get to a point when it gets too much then I'll tell both DDs - I don't need someone who doesn't know me 'telling' them on my behalf! Glad DD told you so you could tell her they're wrong.

Thanks Icemice, PK and Free for the bike comments - it's due to arrive tomorrow and I'm beyond excited.

MrsM, good luck at the booties - I love to go but I'm not very good at getting up early and I always seem to get the sellers that want a lot of money for a lot of rubbish lol. I did buy a nice candle-making kit once for £5 which was a good price - except that it's still unopened in the cupboard :D Maybe it should go in the present stash instead?
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY oh i have seen on other threads that it had changed but back to normal now, but apparently they are changing to that eventually

PEPPAPIG no im no good at change either especially on something technical haha i also hate it when they change the supermarkets around, why oh why???? I know im afraid i hate opinionated people who think they are right all the time, tbh i think it has gone back to grandparents helping out because of the whopping cost of childcare, it is ridiculous these days, and i have heard the government are changing the rules with childcare vouchers later in the year so that will probably be for the worse for these poor mums who have to work. Believe me if DD2 could stay at home she would, but its just not possible plus she is training to be an accountant and would have to pay a lot of the fees back to work. I was very lucky being able to stay at home with my 3 kids. Ooh tomorrows the day, you will have to post a pic of you on it :D

Freespirit. They are just jealous. The fact that your dd asked and didn't expect says so she doesn't expect anything and is grateful for the help. My mum died before dd arrived and I used to feel jealous of people who had grandparents to help. I'm sure if she stayed at home and lived off of thrir taxes they'd have an opinion on that. I'm sure if my mum werr here she'd bite my hand off for a day a week with dd. It never fails to disappointment me that some people are only happy by putting people down. What is wrong with people. I think they'd get chased off of here.

Hope all are ok in this little haven of kindness and sanity. Still following but nit posting and truly off the weight loss wagon. Still more important things in this life.

Freespirit- people can be so ignorant at times cant they? Excuse my language but I would tell her to tell em to mind their own bl**dy business! My mom looked after DS until he was 18months and we decided he needed other kids around him, and even to this day (hes was 25 on sunday!) there is a special bond between. I think mojo is right- they are probably just jealous (and small minded lol!).

Peppa- woohoo bet you've been hoping for nice weather so you can go out on it! I cant ride a bike ( I have menieres so have no balance whatsoever!), but I often wish I could. I missed out on bike rides with the kids when they were young- DH took them.

Mojo- I'm sure you will get back on the wagon when the time is right. I have put all my weight back on (plus some) cus I haven't been able to get out and about very well- my planatar faciitus has been since October (having ultrasound in April) so I haven't been walking far. Hopefully once its sorted out I will be up and running again (well probably not running!!) I did go twice round the park this morning (2 miles- I know this cus its been recently revamped and the council has very kindly marked out the distance on the path). I feel quite positive this morning since I got back home, although just a tad crippled lol!

Princess Kitty- Im ashamed to say I haven't seen Nightmare before Christmas either! Will have to rectify that
    lovin' this site!

    Hi,
It was me after the charmed board game , I managed to get her a brand new primeval board game still sealed from a charity shop instead but thanks for keeping an eye out.

DD's Physio has worked a treat and I expect her to be discharged from the fracture clinic at her next appointment. The anti sickness meds work almost all the time once or twice a week she is sick but that's a huge improvement on every night.

Christmas wise other than paying for DD's vouchers via park there isn't much going on but we are going to York at the end of April for her 18th and they have an all year round Christmas shop !

I had a look at the new layout and I hate it ,its all white and I found it difficult to read.

Wasn't it awful? I understand that changes need to be made as technology progresses, but surely someone with half a brain cell should have spotted that it needs to be able to be read.

Evening everyone, i have just been very naughty, i have had bad toothache for a week now and was so fed up tonight i downed a rather large glass of Baileys  i feel so much better for it though :rotfl::rotfl:

MOJOWORKING im glad you are still here :) you will get back on the weight loss wagon when you are ready to. Thankyou for your kind words, yes DD2 is very grateful and never takes me for granted, i want to help out as much as i can. Oh im sorry your mum wasnt around when your DD arrived and you know that she would have loved being with your DD, the first thing my mum said to me when my first was born was 'dont expect me to babysit on a regular basis and dont even think about going back to work':eek: oh actually sorry the first thing she said to me when i told her i was pregnant 'you stupid girl what have you gone and done that for' you wouldnt believe i was 21 and married fgs.

MURIE thankyou, i err said something a bit worse than that :D ahh that is lovely that they still have a special bond, yes i do agree that they need to be around other kids, hopefully he will get that from nursery, so he will have the best of both worlds. Well done on walking 2 miles, i know that that is a very painful condition, i hope the scan gives some answers.

CHRISSY oh that is great news about DDs physio and the anti sickness meds, York sounds fab especially with an all year round christmas shop, i need a weekend away :)

PEPPAPIG did your bike turn up? Have you had a ride yet?

    Morning all.

I saw the 'wintery showers' at about 2.30am when the dogs asked to be let out and snow has settled on cars and grass this morning but not roads. A day too late for me as I have a mini Christmas each 25th of the month after missing a whole Proper Christmas (never again!!) through illness a couple of years ago. Gives me a little something to look forward to each month and a trial run for any new ideas. Son and heir kindly bought me a gorgeous snowflake tea light holder. Nice to be humoured!

Peppa- bit cold for cycling perhaps today, so you'll need your winter woollies. Murie- I also have Meniere's but it's the tinnitus part that affects me more. The kn***ered lower back stops me from getting on a bike tho these days anyway!

My local radio station did an article yesterday on Katie Hopkins and her views on overweight people. I'd never heard of her before her 'fat programme' on the TV and whilst I did find her rather outspoken, watching her gain then lose weight inspired me to get a pedometer and do 10,000 steps a day. After spending time in a wheelchair and being told I'd never walk again after back collapsed, it made me more determined to walk. Most of my steps are now dog walking. It does make me think twice about stairs / escalator etc. Someone else was adding steps each day - sorry, forgot who! For anyone else trying to get a bit fitter, I'd recommend it as the easiest way and a doddle to check progress.
    Take care everyone xx

Oh, and a quick one. I'm sure everyone is ahead of the game here, but if not, Wowcher have some cheap jewellery and makeup deals on at the moment and also a few tablet deals. I've only been on for a few days as I was told about the Harry Potter trivial pursuit game. Not looking forward to the faff with vouchers and codes, and postage for many things is a bit pricey, but worth a look.
