Afternoon everyone, we have snow again only a couple of inches so not bad, but i did read a tweet earlier that in the local area there had been 22 car accidents :eek:

PRINCESSKITTY ooh thanks for that i must admit i havent been to waitrose for about 3 years, i used to go twice a week (oh how times have changed) but it would be nice to have some nice bits in the freezer especially at a good price. We used to do well at sainsburys for YS but it is always at night but since some awful woman snatched meat out of my DD1s hand  it put me off, they do it in one place so it is usually a scrum which i hate.

BLUEEYEDGIRL glad you had a lovely day and glad you still lurk :)

:eek: 22 car accidents!!!! That's rather a lot, hopefully there was nothing major and just minor bumps!!

Well I started looking last night for things I could put in a cosy/movie night in hamper. Nothing perishable will be brought until nearer too but I am beginning looking and buying now. A good list will be made in a little while too.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

  • Staying in the house today as a)it is sooooo cold out there, b) the water board people have blocked my car in and l don't want to ask them to move unless it is important c) l may get a phone call about getting the fire fixed.
After DS2 getting put into the support group for ESA l thought l could relax, but, no, my DD's husband was taken into hospital from his GPs surgery on Monday, and has been told he has a blockage in one lung and a scar and a shadow on the other, and 'something' not yet clear in his gut. The Dr has said he will phone them on Friday when all the results should be available. (l'm pinning my hopes on the supposition that they wouldn't give really bad news over the phone,) but l feel that somethings very not right.
Sorry for landing all that on the thread, but l feel that you are my friends and will understand.
  • Oh mrsinvisible i'm so sorry to hear that, how worrying for you. I'm sending all my positive vibes and thoughts and hope it is nothing serious and that he can be treated quickly. We are certainly all here for you! I'm sorry for my ignorance (or stupidity!) but what is ESA?

freespirit it is ridiculous isn't it? I don't think a bargain is worth fighting someone for! It's so silly. I love going to the Good Food show but everyone is always barging each other out of the way to try the tasters stands put out - honestly you'd think these people hadn't eaten for 10 years! Although I might have got a slight elbow in at the Carte Dor ice cream stand! :p It's funny because I've lived here for over two years and never seen a reduced section in Sainsburys, and after saying that to you yesterday I came across it today! I refrained though!

Just popped into town, it is coooold out there. There is a small fruit and veg market on a Wednesday morning so I went there for the first time and I was really pleased with what I got, really fresh good quality veg for a decent price. I will definitely try to pop there more often.

Last posted on 20th Jan vowing to keep up and do better and then basically got bed ridden with a ridiculously bad bout of flu. :(

Thankfully both munchkin and I are over it (he didn't have it as bad as me thank goodness) and are on the road to being fighting fit again.

I am now going to try and catch up on all the pages I've missed.

    hugs to all

    xx

Oh MrsI what a worry for you all. I do hope it turns out to be something that can be sorted out quickly and without too many problems. Sending positive vibes to you.

Kiwi, glad you and the little one are now fully recovered and you're back on the thread :)

CarlisleLass and Newthrift go you! You're making me feel very disorganised lol. Other than deciding that there will be a limit of £20 for children and £10 for adults I'm still at the starting gate. :D

Freespirit I've finally twigged what YS means :rotfl:Isn't it strange how people lose all sense of manners and decency when there's a bargain to be had? It's like a less dangerous version of Black Friday. To be honest I'd rather go without than risk life and limb. :D

As it's Wednesday I have DGS (age 1) so hoping I can squeeze in a trip to Poundland or B&M between his after lunch nap and his tea at 4. Partly because I could do with a mooch round and partly because it keeps him occupied for an hour or so!!!
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

I'm sorry but YS is still lost on me :o Is it what I call 'whoopsied' :rotfl: I know it is going to be so bloomin obvious but I just cannot work it out. :o

Hugs to Mr & Mrs I - hope DH gets sorted quickly and you aren't left hanging around wondering what is going on. Take care of yourself too. xx

Afternoon everyone, another day another headache/migraine grrr!

NEWTHRIFT i know ridiculous isnt it? But both DS and DD1 said people were being dangerous when driving to work yesterday morning  i am doing DD1 a Body Shop hamper for next christmas and i have all the smellies from the sales in january but happened to see they had a proper BS christmas box and bag on their site in the sale so when it was 40% off last week i ordered a large christmas box and a large christmas bag they came today but the box is hardly large :( i really dont think i will fit it all in there, so now cant make my mind up how to do it to make it look nice :D:D

MRSINVISIBLE im so glad DS has been sorted quickly with ESA so that is a huge worry out of the way, but so sorry you are now worried about DDs DH, i do hope it isnt as serious as they think and am sending lots of positive vibes to you too, and dont be sorry about mentioning it on here that is what we are here for each other in the good times and the bad x

PRINCESSKITTY oh me neither, i cant stand pushing and shoving at the best of times, but when they are scared of missing out on a tiny taster its ridiculous, i went to the Good Food show in Birmingham ONCE!!! :D it was awful and some silly old bat had a go at me because i had a trolley and she couldnt get near the Rachels yogurt stand for a sample  couldnt wait her turn just barging through i was so mad i actually had a go at her back, i have never been back since!
When DD1 had the meat snatched i was elsewhere and the SA apologised to her and said that this woman was well known for that, WELL BL***Y BAN HER FROM THE SHOP THEN!!!:mad: its usually at the end of one of the fridge units in ours and the baked stuff on a separate trolley at the bakery area, glad you got some nice veg at a good price

KIWI glad you are all over this horrible bug that is going around

CARLISLELASS thats the thing with the perishable bits you cant get ahead with them but then they arent a lot to get nearer the time if everything else is sorted

PEPPAPIG oh i know its silly isnt it, i am hoping that waitrose and m&s arent like that and are more genteel :o some people are just vile full stop though wherever they shop, hope you have had a lovely day with DGS
