Thanks freespirit and quidsy - I am so dense at times  :rotfl:
I used to work in A$da many years ago so maybe that's where I got it from.
DS works at Sainsbobs and he said there are many customers who will only buy stuff if it has been reduced and can get quite unpleasant if stuff hasn't been reduced when they are in to do their shopping. They are often asked to sell the cooked chickens off the counter for £2. A friend of his works on the chilled foods and if stuff is being reduced some people can be quite intimidating grabbing stuff out of his hand and stuffing other things in front of his face to be reduced. I know we all want a bargain but the lengths some people will go to. His store is in quite an affluent area too - perhaps they need all the bargains they can get so they can afford their huge mortgages and posh cars :rotfl:

Over the years I've worked in many different shops and the worst customers *by far* were when I worked at M&S. So much so that twice I had a customer make me cry and when I left, I swore I would never work in retail again! Some were very nice, but overall I was shocked at how rude and horrible they could be.
Onto nicer things...:)
I've got some nice reduced clothing in Matalan last week. Been to a couple of different branches while I was away with mum over the weekend and they didn't seem to have such good reductions in those stores.
Visited Wellsbourne market on Saturday and found some Carole Matthews books for £1 each. It was FREEZING cold there that day, so far fewer stalls than usual and some were already packing up (3 hours early!)
Had some snow here yesterday morning, but it had melted by lunchtime. Blooming chilly still. Got three layers of clothing on and I'm still cold.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I think that it might have been OMO.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

kiwi so glad to hear you and munchkin are on the mend. x
Ugh I can't believe people do that for a bargain! I would NEVER think to demand something is reduced or get nasty about it. I consider myself lucky if I find something. I'm always really lucky with my YS stuff, as I said mine are all from Waitr0se and M&S and I've never had a problem, as all of the things are just on their normal shelves and it's just like doing normal shopping. Long may it continue!
I'm really excited as some lovely person on Freecycle has offered me a sewing machine, it's about 25 years old but apparently works fine with basic stitches so will be good for practising and getting me used to it. I'm picking it up on Saturday. Now I just have to find time to do it!0 -
