Hiya, I haven't been on for a while as i've had loads going on, I haven't had a catch up yet but just wanted to say hi. :santa2:
I've been back home at my parents over the weekend for my brothers 40th birthday meal, his birthday isn't until Christmas Eve but he had to have it early as no one is usually around then and it's not the year that we're spending Christmas at my parents house. I'm pretty much done present wise apart from a frame for my cross stitching. I've still got some stuff to wrap but that's fine as it's part of my Christmas really. DH and I sat and watched Elf last night, love that film! I bought a copy of the Christmas Radio Times and circled lots of things in red pen that i'd like to watch! I had some friends over last week to visit my hot chocolate station, I bought some orange hot choc and mint hot choc from Whittards and it is amazing! I don't usually like flavoured hot chocolate as it never tastes right but these are really yummy so will be getting them in future. Anyway i've got to get on, I hope you're all well and i'll try to catch up ASAP. xx0 -
Morning all
Thank you for the very kind comments about the stocking. I started it in September, told the kids I will do Ll future grandchildren one but they need to time the arrivals right and no one is allowed a baby after October if they want one for their first Christmas and don't leave it too late or my eyesight will start to fail lol..
Hugs to all the poorlies and those worried or stressing over a poorly loved one
Over half way on the frank turner stitch so thats doable. Final bits orders from amaz0n I feel like I'm on wind down week this week because we break up here on Friday.
Have a great day all.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi, all. Hope you are all well. I have a really sore throat and the beginnings of a cold. Glad it was not last week when I was going to France, or next week when I have lots of preparation to do.
I wanted to buy some children's Christmas plates and beakers and didn't want to pay M&S prices. Thankfully, I picked up the last four plates in our local B&M, together with 4 beakers. £6 altogether. Really happy with them.0 -
Catching up with you all! Its been a house of ill these last few days:-/ Me and DS have had a sickness bug, constantly feeling nauseous and dizzy, DS passed out on Tuesday. Scary. He is much better now thankfully!
I started with a cold on Saturday, all i wanted to do was lay on the sofa with the dog, but had to work as one of our staff was also ill. Worked Sunday and today. Feeling poorly still and have lots to do, the little bits like gift bags, tissue paper and gift wallets. Presents to wrap too. Was so smug as I felt so organised, now I am not!!
Hugs to all of you. X0 -
freespirit66 wrote: »Afternoon everyone, apart from occasional pain and total deafness in one ear i feel much more human today so have started my xmas baking, i am shattered
i have made Gingerbread Biscotti with White Chocolate, Chocolate and Hazelnut Biscotti and Lemon Sugar Cookies today plus a Mushroom Stroganoff for dinner and in between i tried to watch James Martin christmas cookery show on catch up, and Nigellas show as well. Tomorrow i will make Orange and Cranberry Shortbread, probably just that as DD2 and OH and Thumper will be home from NY and are going to pop over, ooh i have missed my cuddles with lil man this week
FUNNYBUNNY glad you are better now, blimey you dont hear of many HA doing something like that for free!!
CHRISSY i think our Santa and sleigh is due round friday as well here, glad DD has some new medication and it is going well atm, fingers crossed, that has come round quick hasnt it, i bet she is so excited! Are you nervous about her going?
ELLIE i read that wrong then i thought it said 2 weeks to christmas eve, i thought i had got all my days and dates mixed up then re read and saw you said eve eve :rotfl:
RUTHHONEY glad your bathroom is all finished i hope you are pleased with it! Oh how annoying about your brother not giving you his half after saying he would, i did find it funny though that you had hidden it
Glad you made it back in one piece on the coach with heavy luggage!!
FEISTY ooh happy baking tomorrowwill you be christening your nice shiny kitchen aid???
I didn't actually manage to use the kitchenaid until today! We finally got the last box of kitchen items unpacked yesterday and I decided to treat myself to some birthday baking todayI've made two lemon drizzle loafs, they are cooling in their tins now and I'm praying they aren't dry as I had to turn off the oven and leave them in their for an hour as they weren't quite ready and I had to rush out to a hospital appointment. Serves me right for rushing I suppose.
So sorry to hear about Thumper! He's really been through the wringer, poor little mite! A friends 2 year old had pneumonia last month and I was amazed at how quickly they bounced back. Sending love and healing vibes to all of of you xxxfreespirit taz is back at schoolstill not 100% but alot better than he was. The earache may be a follow on from whatever it was you had last wk as my lot have been complaining of it the last couple of days too. sorry to hear dd is still in so much pain hope they've still managed to enjoy NY bet you can't wait till they get home. some yummy sounding bakes today do you freeze some?
fiesty happy baking - I found a chair/stool to sit on a huge help in the kitchen at this late stage rather than standing for to long
well sat here in the dark with my new tree lights twinkling away drinking hot choc & watching xmas movies what better way to spend a winter evening
tc all
I have lots more baking planned, so will remember that tipYour evening sounds lovely! We still have no tree up here
Both the tree and cabinet are beautiful! You really are talentedHi all:j
Have read back but think it would be impossible to comment on everyones situation. Big hugs to everybody who needs them. High fives to everybody who has got christmas in the bag and is already done!
Vulpix & Murie- I hope you are both ok after your falls.
FiestyFidget- Hope you have had a nice baking day. Hope you and baby are both doing well x
freespirit66-im so sorry to hear you and your DD and grandchild are not feeling not well. It is so bad for bugs and viruses at the moment. I really hope you all get well soon.
We have been so busy with christmas realted things. We are out tonight with a christmas themed basketball match and then an evening at my aunts with buffet and swapping presents xx
We had an ultrasound last Thursday and all seems to be going well BUT it wasn't carried out by a consultant and the growth wasn't checked as apparently it can only be done fortnightly and by a consultant. Fingers crossed for more good news at this Thursday's scan! Baba is super wriggly and I am fairly certain I have developed some internal bruising under my diaphragm as it is Jrs favourite place to kick and every time they so much as brush against it, it's really painful BUT I am taking it as a good sign that they have so much power behind their movementsThe tree and my white christmas village are up. I always forget how annoying it is to put baubles on the tree nicely spaced out. Just when you think you've found the right branch you spot an identical bauble mere inches away! :rotfl:
Got my assignment mark back and it was another good one. Just one mark down from last time. Can't complain about that because it wasn't my finest work.Celebrated with a mug cake. Yummy.
Hope everyone is as well as can be xx
I'd love to see some photos of your tree and villageWell done on your assignment mark!

Wow, that stocking looks fab! It's been lovely seeing it throughout the year slowly coming together, huge well done for finishing in time!
Well as I mentioned we have no tree or decorations up, but the MIL bought me a poinsetta for my birthday today and I have started wrapping and writing cardsI will officially close my order books on Friday and I can't wait as we currently have 25 outstanding order and it is severely eating in to my relaxing/house unpacking time :rotfl:

/Freespirit Isn't it awful watching the little ones suffer, I do hope he is better soon.
I didn't escape the germs but it's only a cold. A day or so in bed and I will be fine.
I didn't want to pass it on so am staying away from the baby for now. My daughter still has some pain but it will pass soon, hopefully.0 -
Ooh I've just got here in time to wish you a happy birthday on the right day so here it is.....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FEISTY!!!!!!
Would have liked that to be bigger but still working out the intricacies of posting from the iPad and my lovely little icons have disappeared too - one minute they were there and then they weren't.It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0
