Free- poor Thumper! Hope the hospital manage to sort him out PDQ. I bet your DD is beside herself worrying, he's in the best place tho so hopefully they can start to pump antibiotics and fluids into him. Try not to worry yourself- once he's started medication he will up and thumping around as usual xx Take care x

Thanks for the hugs re DH- tbh his boss is and always has been a nightmare- compulsive liar doesn't even begin to describe him. I think DH may just deck him next Friday once things are sorted, and for once I wouldn't blame him! I feel like getting my boxing gloves out and sorting him out once and for all myself!
    lovin' this site!

Murie I do hope DH gets his money when he should, it must be so sad for him that a job he once loved has ended like this. His soon to be ex boss is obviously a kn*b.

Oh Free, poor Thumper. You must be so worried but try to rest and not stress too much, he's in the best place so hopefully will soon be feeling much better and you'll need to be well so you can make up for all those missed cuddles.

Thank you both and you too MrsM for your kind comments.

  • Evening everyone, DD2 just phoned they are on their way home finally.... with Thumper :j they had a second consultant and he has Bronchiolitis, his sats are good when he slept (whatever they are), his tonsils are huge :( but they said he is really fighting it well, so have given DD2 some strong antibiotics and said she can look after him at home but the minute he seems to go downhill again take him straight back, phew relieved Nana, Auntie and Uncle here :D DD2 and OH are so tired they can barely function so were going to settle Thumper, quickly eat something and then crash!

  • Freespirit Great news about Thumper. :j Sats is the medical terminology for oxygen level in the blood. Not medically qualified but an avid TV viewer of all things medical e.g. Casualty, 24 hours in A&E etc. It's amazing what knowledge you pick up from watching these types of programmes! :D

  • Thanks for suggestions. My son is only 9 so try to limit his play time on consoles. His aunty has got him a game hes asked. To be honest he's getting everything on his list (he didn't really ask for much) but off family members. So Ive left myself nothing to get. He seems quite interested in the new star wars that's coming out so may have a look around for something to do with that. I'm lucky enough to have a smyths and toys r us near by so will have a look around!
Still no decs up but definitely do them this weekend when I have time x

I'm usually a read only type of gal, but wondering if you've thought about a gaming chair? Or a driving game with steering wheel for Xbox? X

  • Evening everyone, Peppapig the cabinet is gorgeous no wonder your daughter was thrilled and wow the tree is stunning very impressive. Free that's better news about Thumper once the antibiotics kick in he will be on the mend and sounds like a good nights sleep is needed for all to get their strength back.Murie I really feel for you and your hubby, I just don't understand what is the matter with people why do they find it so hard to do the right thing by each other, my fave word is integrity, it truly shocks me how many people are lacking. Anyway I will step down off my box and say keep strong and I'm sure you will both feel so much better when this is over, as Peppa said its sad that it should end like this but that's down to him he needs to man up!! Feisty I hope your scan went well and your getting lots of rest the time will fly by. Oh my I can't believe the time still not asleep and probably still awake at daft o'clock, I'm sure I was meant to be an owl, take care everyone

Got back from my Christmas Market trip to Lille yesterday. I am glad I went (was worried about travelling to France) and had a good time. For anyone thinking of going, the market is smallish but with some nice, handcrafted bits, something a bit out of the ordinary. I bought some hand painted birth plaques for both my grandchildren born this year. They look cute though were not cheap at 39 Euros each. I had to phone back to the UK to get all the details to write on (weight etc.)

We were blessed with mild weather. Plenty to do, eat and drink in Lille. The only (very) depressing thing was the number of beggars on every street, some with young children. It was like going back in time when it was like that here in London. So upsetting and made me feel a bit guilty about spending money on nice things. The Salvation Army was actively collecting so, I suppose, they will help where genuinely needed.

Of course, there were armed police/soldiers in most places and your bags got checked upon entry to every big store. That didn't bother me though as it made me feel safer.

Meanwhile, my poor daughter has a bad case of mastitis so I am going over to see her soon to help with the children.

Hope all your plans are proceeding well. I am dreading doing my accounts here.
  • Glad thumper is back home, must have been such a worry for you all free.
Well done on the win 3forthehols.
This full time working is really eating into my free time. Not complaining as it will stop after Christmas and I go back to part time.
Nothing done last night but plan to wrap more tonight and I have Christmas dinner at work today and it's the secret Santa swap - can't wait to see what the person I bought for makes of their gift.

    Have a great day all

Hugs and get well vibes for all who need them.
