  • Evening everyone, my advent activity today was to make mulled wine, so tonight i have had a couple of glasses (purely for medicinal purposes) :rotfl:hopefully it might knock me out for the night as i am sick to death of waking up in the middle of the night and being wide awake for 3 odd hours :(

CHRISSY aww i thought you would be feeling nervous about DDs holiday, im sure there will be someone to watch her all of the time and keep her safe, who knows her history, sending you hugs

NIC haha i have it on my kindle as well, but the rate im going it will after christmas i get to read it

    GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY haha love it :D

MANDCO aww poor Taz, i feel for the kiddies with this horrid virus, yes it definitely is still that, i feel like an old woman totally deaf and back and leg pain from standing baking all afternoon :rotfl:im off to bed after posting this. Yes they sound as if they have all had a brilliant time thankyou. I do usually freeze my baking but im quite late starting this year so most of it has gone into my christmas tins, your evening sounds perfect!

RUTHHONEY aww i hope your mum loves her advent pressie :)

  • My son is also very firmly attached to his Xbox.

So I have bought him: a Microsoft points gift card; a new controller; a plug and play thingy so that he can play whilst the controller is charging; the latest Call of Duty game; a charging dock for the controllers; a code for Xbox live for 12 months; spare AA batteries.

I suspect that he is older than your DS though. Mine will be 15 on Sunday :)

Thanks for suggestions. My son is only 9 so try to limit his play time on consoles. His aunty has got him a game hes asked. To be honest he's getting everything on his list (he didn't really ask for much) but off family members. So Ive left myself nothing to get. He seems quite interested in the new star wars that's coming out so may have a look around for something to do with that. I'm lucky enough to have a smyths and toys r us near by so will have a look around!
Still no decs up but definitely do them this weekend when I have time x

I am going out a lot at the moment to get away from the noise and muck in the kitchen. It is very nice to be able to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere knowing that I am all done.

I love the sound of your bakes Free.I try with baking but just not got the magic touch.I made your marshmallow recipe, omg, looked awful but tasted ok.I do my food prep sat at the kitchen table, saves my back.

ChrissyG fantastic news about dd,s medication, she and you go through the mill with it all.Fingers crossed that things continue on an even keel in that direction.I don't know what her trip is all about but it will be a marvelous experience.

My husband was Santa last Saturday in this fundraising review. He came into the audience with a sack of sweets for the kids.I stood up,threw my hands in the air and shouted SANTA.He shoved a load of sweets in my hands which I gave to the kids near me.lol it never occurred to me that no one had a clue that he was my husband.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Afternoon! I'm feeling very Christmassy as we had our festive afternoon tea here today . It was scrumptious if I do say so myself!

Free- my goodness- that's a whole lot of baking to be doing when you aren't feeling 100%! No wonder you were shattered! Hope you get to have your lil man cuddles today and that DDs pain is a little easier x

Feisty= hope all went well at your scan appt today- have been thinking of you x

Chrissy-I can understand how nervous you must be feeling but I am sure DD will be fine x Glad she seems to be on the right track at the moment with her meds .

Peppa- that is such a cosy scene! Your tree looks beautiful x And no wonder your DD loved that cabinet- it is lovely.

On the home front here, DH is feeling the stress of being made redundant next week as his boss is playing silly be*gars about paying him his redundancy- says he cant afford to pay it all in one go. Bloody tough I say!! He made the decision to close the company he should follow through with his promises. Yesterday was eventful to say the least, with DH phoning me every hour or so with an update on how his boss was messing him around. Even though he has another job to go to, he is beginning to feel upset at this one ending as he has been there 16 years. His boss has never been reliable and has caused a great many problems on more than one occasion- cue stress and upset all round. I keep telling DH never mind it will be a new start for him- freshen him up a little as he has become demotivated and disengaged from the job he used to love. But its easy for me to say- I'm not the one facing the carp directly day to day (I just try to calm the fall out down). Anyway sorry to bring the festive atmosphere down - just needed to get it off my chest I think.

    Enjoy your evenings everyone xx
    lovin' this site!
    :j
  • Murie I hope your Dh gets the money he's entitled to
Peppa pig the cabinet and Christmas tree look stunning, I love them both.

    Hope everyone is well.

Did a load of wrapping last night and wrote a couple of cards in my lunch break for people I'd missed at work.

  • Oh MURIE i havent had any cuddles as Thumper is at the hospital with suspected pneumonia :(:( he has still had a cough since he was ill the other week but while they were in NY he kept being sick but wasnt ill in himself, they flew back overnight and he slept the whole flight, then they got home and all had a nap, when he woke up he was upset and had a really high temperature so DD2 and OH phoned 111 and they said bring him in straightaway and she has just rung me to say that they think it is pneumonia, they are still waiting to see another consultant. Oh your poor DH he really sounds very out of sorts with all the stress of it all, his boss needs a bl**dy kick up the backside!!! He could be making a very stressful situation less stressful for DH, he is probably feeling very unsure of himself after being in the same job for all that time and it is all a bit real now and daunting for him, sending you both lots of hugs x
