Morning, I'm catching up and lost a long post so just popping in to quickly say it will be Christmas eve eve in 2 weeks today! :j
Hope everyone is well and enjoying their festive-fuelled activitiesI'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
Hi all!
Been away visiting my family for a few days, so just spent some time catching up. Big hugs to those of you who are feeling ill. There's some horrible bugs around now.
My suitcase coming home was so heavy! My auntie seems to forget that I have to fit all the presents into a suitcase and cart them all back home by public transport across London. Thank goodness for the very kind people who helped me carry the case down the stairs at Victoria.
I'm still very annoyed with my brother. Back in July I asked him if he wanted to go halves on a kindle for my mum. He's had 5 months to save £20 to pay for it. Did he manage to give me anything towards it??? Not even 1p! Have written out the label and left space for him to write his name on it IF I get the money before Christmas. It's hidden at mum's, so if he doesn't, I'll tell her where to find it and next Christmas I'll have to cut back on how much I get her to compensate. What really annoys me is that he's still smoking. If he's that broke, he should quit. Grr!
Got kits of card to write out this week. I hate that bit. Wish I could make hubby do that and I'll wrap all the gifts, but that'll never happen.
Bathroom is finally done. Just need to get all the toiletries and towels back in the cupboards now.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

My son loves alll things computer, Xbox. We have the minecraft books already and to be honest he's not really into it. He loves army figures/toys and dinosaurs but he probably has most of them already. Will have to get my thinking cap on lol.
Took the boys to see Santa at the weekend. It was lovely. We're in a rented house and the housing association office is 2 mins away and they turned it into a grotto for the tenants children. The boys saw Santa and got a gift then made some Xmas decorations at the craft table. Was all free and they really enjoyed it and I get some homemade decs for the tree.
Hope everyone is well! Can't believe how quick it's coming round now, starting to feel a bit stressed now as don't seem to have time to do anything, with helping my mum decorate a whole house before she moves in on the 19th and then work in the evenings, there's just not enough hours in the day! Xxx
My son is also very firmly attached to his Xbox.
So I have bought him: a Microsoft points gift card; a new controller; a plug and play thingy so that he can play whilst the controller is charging; the latest Call of Duty game; a charging dock for the controllers; a code for Xbox live for 12 months; spare AA batteries.
I suspect that he is older than your DS though. Mine will be 15 on SundaySmiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Morning all- another dismal wet day- and a muddy one for me! As I was coming out of the park first thing this morning I sort of aquaplaned on mud (I was on a slight hill), twisted my knee a bit and slipped over onto my b*m. My not so waterproof coat rode up at the back and as did my tshirt underneath so I had a lovely mud pack across my back. I felt such a plonk- especially as where I was coming out of the park is on a busy crossroads and wouldn't you know it tall the lights were on red, so I felt a collective 'Oh look at that silly woman falling over' gasp coming form all the cars sat waiting for the light s to change. I was trying to get up and slipping all over the place cus it was a mud bath! Not helped by my silly great german shepherd licking and nuzzling at me cus she was worried. It must of looked like part of a slap stick comedy routine! I was laughing at myself, the dog was wiggling all over the place ( I have found that dogs have a cruel sense of humour when anyone falls over lol!) and everytime I tried to get my footing my boot slipped in the mud. Needles to say I came home and got in shower straight away, clothes in wash as I type. And there was me thinking I could have a washing free day!
I have bought DS a chrome cast for Christmas but wouldn't you know it 3 weeks after the Chromecast2 came out. I'm debating whether to get him one of those instead- apart from the fact its HD Im just not sure if it would be worth it. What do you think? I could give DDs BF the original one for when he's at Uni. Any advice?
Vulpix we always put our decorations up on 12th when I was young , it seemed that everyone else did too.
Nic 2075- Im trying to find a little bit of me time to watch its a wonderful life- not happening as of yet tho!
Re Beef- Tesco had it on offer at the weekend- we had a joint for Sunday lunch.
Kiss_Me _now9- which Uni are you at for your Masters? I did mine at Birmingham (part time alongside work and my DS who was 2 when I started!) It was hard juggling everything but I really enjoyed it (I can say that now looking back- I did have a few meltdowns along the way though!!) What are you doing? I did Economics. Enjoy Bruges x
Feisty- glad to see that you are trying to de stress a little. Jnr is obviously going to be a little feisty fidget too by the sound of it!
Free- are you feeling rough again? Hope not x
Have a lovely day everyone- take care x
Oh Hun, I'm so sorry about your fall, but it did make me giggle!
Free I'm so sorry your poor DD is still in pain, despite the op!
I am maybe a day away from being able to get into my kitchen and bake, so excited! I'm feeling very tired today so have spent the afternoon on the sofa[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Yum freespirit, that alol sounds delicious! Puts me in the mood for baking.
My Dad gave me money for the kids to get pressies from him as he is too unwell to go out shopping. But I havnt even finished getting stuff from us, so no idea where to start.
Oh and don't bother reading Christmas at Lilac cottage. It's a bit of a yawn fest. I usually like crime thrillers like Karin Slaughter and Kathy Reichs etc. but thought I'd give a Christmas book a go as so many of you posted about different ones. So maybe it's ok and just not my kind of book, but it took me forever to get through rather than my usual couple of days.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Hey, I was driving home from work this evening and saw Santa walking down the road. Was so exciting, especially as it was so unexpected :j:j:jA smile costs little but creates much0

fiesty happy baking - I found a chair/stool to sit on a huge help in the kitchen at this late stage rather than standing for to long
well sat here in the dark with my new tree lights twinkling away drinking hot choc & watching xmas movies what better way to spend a winter evening

Oh dear-I've got that book to read. Mind you, if you're used to crime thrillers, maybe it just wasn't the right genre to get your heart racing. Have you read The Lie by CL Taylor? I enjoyed that, even though it's not my usual style.
Trying to get sorted out to hopefully get the tree up by Saturday. Will be the first time in three years if I do. Had mini trees-no bigger than 2 foot but not had anywhere to put the main tree.
Very pleased that I've found a missing necklace. I have two snowflake pendants-one simple and the other a kind of marcasite style. My mum bought me some snowflake dangly earrings that go very well with the simple pendant, but could I find it on the 1st when I opened the earrings? Was thinking they would probably turn up in February!
My mum is enjoying her advent gifts. Today she's due to open a signed Carole Matthews book. Which Carole signed back in April!
