Evening everyone, well i gave up on Im a Celebrity about 5 days ago and wont be watching the final, its been so disappointing this year and i am so not impressed with the last 3 people
I have just had a shop delivered which is purely baking ingredients, so this week i will be baking and posting my cards. I have booked a shop for 22nd December and then i will go to M&S on christmas eve and just get the very last fresh bits seen as i still have £45 in vouchers (hoping to get lucky with some ys stuff but will probably be there too early
)
FEISTY btw i forgot to say earlier, i love the name Alexi very unusual
3FORHOLIDAYS thankyouoh that wont take long to finish christmas then
VULPIX a tin of chocs is fine, its just to say a little thankyou for having you. It is a nice feeling knowing its all finished isnt it? Haha it cracked me up reading your post, did you mean to say its not showing off??? :rotfl:
:rotfl::rotfl:Yes it is a rectangle floral tray with a rectangle piece of oasis sat in it, but it doesnt matter what tray cos you can shape the oasis easily and its all hidden by the greenery
04624181 aww thankyou honey

Evening everyone, hope all is well and get well wishes to those who need them!
I had the worst 24 hour bug this week, was so strange, first I woke up 3am with what felt like a trapped burp under my ribs so I was up and down having drinks of water to release it, then the dreaded S& D hit! After about 4 hours of that it was really bad flu like symptoms freezing cold, aching all over, bad head and lethargic, luckily my 2 year old Vinnie loves nothing more than snuggling on the sofa with a blanket watching tv! The next day woke up absolutely fine!! Except I've had dry and cracked lips all week.
Anyway, still not done much on the present buying front so have loads to get still. Really struggling with what to get my 9 year old son, everything on his list I've asked family to get as I didn't have a clue so now I'm struggling for ideas!
My Tesco direct order has finally arrived, took 20 days, so that's the youngest son all done! Still no decorations up but hopefully be up sometime this week.
Night all. Xxx0 -
Feisty, the wise words others have written are good advice and Vulpix is right. You and bubs are what matters. Get the minimum ready that you can live with and then don't fret. Wish I was near enough to help.
Free, sorry to hear about your cold - I think the viruses that are around lately are like super-viruses, they seem to be really bad and won't go away or they go away for a few days and then just when you think you're better they come back
Funny bunny that sounds nasty, glad it didn't last any longer.
Had a nice weekend - decs are up now and tree is all decorated. I've bought all new tree decs for the first time since the children were small instead of adding one or two each year. I've gone for vintage style glass ones and I'm really pleased with them. Pressies are all wrapped and ready to be delivered or given out on the big day, just Christmas cards to be written and DH's sweetie jar to be filled. Next job is the food shopping list and then my plan for cooking Christmas dinner. If I don't do a minute by minute plan it will be a dismal failure. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Morning all
Sorry to read there are so many bugs and illnesses affecting the lovely people of this thread.
Hugs to all especially those who life is being hard on.
Need to put the outside deccys out tonight, it's not many just a few signs and a weather vein. Outdoor socket is being installed next weekend so hopefully outdoor fairylights in the future.
Need to finish my crafting bits and get wrapping finished off this week.
Have a good day all will catch up later.SPC~12 ot 124

Freespirit- My son begged us to allow him to stay up past his 10pm bedtime so he could watch the final last night. We do not watch it x You sound very organised. I am off to the gym today, then a quick food shop and hopefully some christmas wrapping.
funnybunny-That sounds like a nasty 24hr bug, glad you are feeling better.
peppapig-your tree sounds lovely xx
Mrsmoneypenny- crafting has not even started yet for me as dd was off all last week, she is back in today so hoping to get a bit done x
DD is going back in to school today and she is so excited! I have got such a busy week, Its nativities, hospital appts, dentist appts and even an evening out for me tomorrow( very unusual ) No baking or crafting done yet, need to get organised!
Big hugs and christmas sprinkles to everybody I have missed. Hope you are all ok x0 -
Morning all, another windy dismal day it seems weather wise.
Feisty- I can understand how you are feeling but as others have said- take it easy , everything takes second, third or 99th place to ensuring you and baby stay healthy and safe. If it doesn't get done then the world wont stop, you will still have a roof over your head and a beautiful baby on the way x
Vulpix- I think a tin of choccies will be fine as you are contributing to the meal .
Funny Bunny- ooh that sounds nasty! Take it easy til you are fully over it x
Free- hope you're getting your energy back x How is DD? When does she go to NY? How do you manage to keep white woodwork clean with your dog? I would be forever wiping it down cus The Hounds fave colour is mud and my dark cream walls and woodwork are always splashed as she walks past. If I don't continually wipe them it would look as if I had a resident contemporary artist at work all over my living room (you know the sort that splash a load of paint on a canvas and call it art??)
Peppa- there are a load of glass decorations this year aren't there? They are so pretty. I have brought a few but the set I really desire is a rose gold and pale pink set that wont go with my rather eclectic decorating scheme (ie my tree is chocca full of mismatched decs which all have a meaning in one way or another). I love it but I would really love a 'stylish' tree at some point. Maybe next year.....
Mrs Moneypenny- I have been nagging for an outside socket for years- don't think its ever going to happen though .
I have been scouring pinterest this weekend in my spare time as we are having a girly festive afternoon tea here on Thursday and I want some inspiration. We usually go out somewhere but decided that this year we will watch White Christmas and then follow it up with afternoon tea (DD Mom Sis and me) I have a few ideas but any suggestions would be welcomed.
Take care xlovin' this site!

Thanks everyone for the wise words
I think the penny has finally dropped as I'm trying to take it a bit easier, not being too successful as jr hates me being in a sitting down position for too long lol
I hope everyone has a fab week![/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Hello all
I had such a busy weekend so didn't get on here at all and have missed all the festive chat
On the plus, we got our real tree yesterday and it looks lovely. My room looks so cosy now that it is finished and I just want to spend all day in there. Work is ruining this for me, maybe I need to suggest that I work from home from now on :rotfl:
I've got a few things ticked off my to do list today. I have ordered Father Christmas letters for our two daughters and have also placed a grocery order for 23rd December. Its not finished but I thought I would just add a few things to it for now just so I can reserve the delivery slot and I can just keep adding to it now when I have my proper shopping list sorted out.
We are off to see Father Christmas tonight :j
I hope everybody's day is going well. I hope those of you who are feeling poorly will have a speedy recovery. I am going to try and catch up with this thread later today so will be able to see what you've all been getting up to.0 -
o gosh free what have i said.i am not overly eloquent, thats why i joke so much.soz, for miss typing and joking!
i have done some batch cooking today for the freezer, bologneise and chilli.made apple pies and mince pies yesterday which are ok but the pastry is a bit hard because i had them in the oven with the lunch and was too low for pastry.ok for family but wouldnt offer them to a visitor.

Freespirit hope your feeling better. your table centre piece is amazing and you should be proud its not showing off and I love seeing everyone's makes
whitesatin congratulations to you all on the safe arrival of Alexander
fiesty I know its hard for several reasons but maybe some forced maternity leave will actually do you some good and allow you time to rest before jr arrives. fingers crossed it'll be better news at your next scan but whatever happens it will all come together in the end even if its not the way you'd planned/hoped.
pinknfluffy wishing you a speedy recovery have the kids had it yet? taz ended up with it xmas day last yr and was so poorly with it
funny bunny there are some nasty bugs around at the mo hope your feeling better. What kind of things is ds into? I've struggled with my ds 10 this yr its a horrible age and he hasn't even asked for much other than computer game stuff & some books. I try to limit his computer time so did get him some qixels as he loves minecraft so figured he might enjoy making his own characters.
well taz is still off schoolhoping to get him back tomorrow as he only has 5 days left before he breaks up and I really need some kid free time to get everything out and sorted properly.have 3 more people to buy for/finish then its just cash/vouchers to get but that can wait till the last minute. Think I'm pretty much done for the kids though do still need a few stocking bits and a dvd for the xmas eve box but otherwise not doing too bad just loads of wrapping to do.
really annoyed with my gp as they won't renew my migraine prescription without seeing me first so now I have to waste time(they usually end up running 45min-1hr late) sitting in a surgery full of actual sick people wasting an appointment that could have gone to someone who really needed it
anyone got a copy of the xmas food list we had last yr? I've been writing my final shopping lists out today but can't get past the nagging feeling I've forgotten something important
hope everyones keeping safe if affected by the awful weather and those who aren't well are feeling better soon tc allthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0
