Morning Christmas crazies
I haven't been posting much this week as I've been so busy at work! I've been keeping up though and liking hearing about the festive things everyone is getting up to...I've mentioned elf of the shelf to my OH and he thought it was a lovely idea - might need kids first though haha:rotfl:
I'm all good 04624181 dw about me, just getting carried away with work and all things ChristmassyGlad you like your new hair, let us know how the church event goes as it sounds lovely
Congrats whitesatin!!!
Oh I have a slight word of warning for anyone sending Christmas cards...I had to confirm in writing to our priest that we'll be attending our marriage prep courses next year so I wrote out a Christmas card too, luckily I waited until after mass to post it through his door because it said in the newsletter please only send cards depicting the true meaning of Christmas - needless to say I didn't post the snowman card lol
We have a Christmassy weekend planned as it's the anniversary of our engagement on Sunday so we're going to London for a festive fuelled romantic getaway. I have to admit I'm a little nervous with all the terror attack threats but nothing will stop me from going Winter Wonderland!
Only 3 weeks today!!! I can't believe it, it's coming round so quickly! It's my dad's birthday on Wednesday and that's always when it's so close to Christmas that I want it to slow down because it is over too soon!I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
elliew8- Hope you have a fantastic time in London. I know the terrorist attacks are on everyone's minds but we cannot allow a mindless minority stop us from living. I will let you know how the church event goes. Im going dressed in my jeans and my flashing Rudolph jumper lol x It should be fun.
Well my sons Xbox one has just beed delivered so I can now breath a huge sigh of relief! It needs wrapping, putting in a black bag and putting on top of the wardrobe as its not going in the loft! I feel so much better now it is here. I need to just get a few bits. Coca cola are not doing the named bottles this year so Im thinking of maybe printing my own labels for the kids and adults favourite drinks bottles. Need a centrepiece of some sort, need to finish the pizza box style selection boxes, need to get all the bits together and make sure Im not missing something important lol x ( my secret fear is I have missed something major!)
DD will be at school on Monday so need to catch up on my jobs and things needed to be done.0 -
Just had a long morning (+ a bit of afternoon) shopping. Way too much walking for me. Was quite suprised it wasn't busier though!
Think I've tired my brain out with that essay. I keep forgetting things today. Really short term things too! Ah, the wonders of ME. :rotfl:
I might go curl up on the sofa now. Hope everyone else is well xx“In 900 years of time and space, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important”

Good afternoon, all. Just got back from town with bagsful of food bargains. We were meant to be going out for a meal this evening but decided not to so went to M&S to buy some bits and pieces instead. The lady was reducing lots of stuff so I filled the trolley with all sorts of tasty bites for this evening. But even better, she was reducing lovely little salmon blinis, and mini toast/cheese bites so I filled a second trolley with a view to freezing to have before Christmas lunch as people arrive. I got lots and it all cost only £24 so I was ecstatic. As I will have people here all day and evening, I am going to take a daily trip to M&S at around this time of day and linger till I see stuff being reduced, e.g. quiches etc., then stick them in the freezer. Funny how things always taste better when you know they are a bargain, lol.0

We are watching Elf tonight, so excited. We have seen it so many times, but never tire of it. This is the first proper christmas film we have watched this year. i don't count the christmas 24 films as proper films lol.
I made the kids and me hot chocolate with cream, marshmallows and a candy cane stirror. Yum
What does everyone have planned for the weekend?:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
0462 same here - I keep thinking I've forgotten something really important too.
Whitesatin those bargains sound great - I might have to try that, I've still got a £25 M&S voucher too.
Free are you ok? Hope the migraines haven't got you. Don't worry if you don't feel like posting but sending you good vibes.
I finally decided to cancel the QVC Christmas food order as it was quite expensive and there was some of it that we wouldn't really eat. Instead I've ordered free range turkey breast and a mushroom Wellington for the veggies in our family and will pick it up on 22nd. Best of all I did it in store so I could use the vouchers I got when we renewed the house insurance so it hasn't cost anything. Win win for me lol.
DD's birthday today and she was really thrilled with the cabinet I did for her vintage tea sets so big relief. Now that's over its full steam ahead for Christmas. The tree and decs are going up tomorrow and I'm going to watch less to and listen to more Smooth Xmas from here on in.
The rustic reindeer we made a while ago are now in the front garden complete with tinsel and bell round their necks and we've got enough branches etc left to make a baby one so fingers crossed for some dry spells this weekend so Junior can come and join Wonky, Wobbly and Prancer. Woody has gone off to his permanent home now with my sister. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Congratulations whitesatin & family xx
Got sent to the docs by my boss today to get a suspect rash on my arm checked out. To my surprise doc said it was chicken pox!
Sure enough by the time I got back to school/work, the spots had started on my face. I've now been "excluded" from work for 5 days. That explains why I've felt so lathargic/feverish for the last week or so. I now resemble a giant adult dot-to-dot, and feeling very itchy & sorry for myself.
But at least I get a couple of kid free days next week to finish the wrapping!
In case anyone still has pressies to buy - my home bargains were reducing prices of some toys today. Dh popped in after work & had got the minions playdoh set reduced from 6.99 to £3.99 and a frozen secret diary thing reduced from 11.99 to 7.99!
Not sure if its nationwide, but dh said they were changing prices on a fair few things whilst he was there. It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
