Morning
I just lost my long post so will have to summarise!
The tree is up! :xmastree: well the real one anyway, we got it Saturday and couldn't bear to put it in the garden...the artificial one is down from the loft and is going up tonight, then we'll be fully Christmasified in our house
We saw the lights get switched on in the town centre on Friday and was such a festive-filled lovely night, we've decided we're going every year now :xmassmile
I also had a few comments from some of our scrooge-like friends about being so excited about Christmas, they keep saying it's November! well I will be smug tomorrow and annoying my friends I'm sure lol :rotfl:
I skimmed through the posts and good luck to those awaiting/ newly arrived babies and Feisty hope the move goes smoothly.
Not long to go now...can open the advent calendar tomorrow wooohooo!!!
ELLIE our village had their tree lighting ceremony and carols round the tree yesterday and only about 6 people turned up  it was because it was so rainy and windy (still flipping is) but the tree looks just as awful as every other year, everyone thought it would be prettier this year but no.....#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -

Yay, our decorator starts today :j I just can't wait until Saturday when I can put the last of my decorations up.
I had a lovely Christmassy weekend this weekend. We went Christmas shopping on Saturday which was lovely, apart from battling through the weather of course. We got a few things for my DH's side of the family so at least he is finally getting that sorted as he has left it really late this year even though I have been reminding him every week to get started.
Then yesterday we had friends over and had a roast dinner, although this time of year anything that resembles a roast dinner has been renamed a practice Christmas dinner :rotfl:
The weather has been just horrible. I got soaked yesterday when I went grocery shopping. I hate the wind too, for some reason it makes me really anxious so I have to try not to think about it because it really bothers me.
I am going to try and catch up with everybody some time today but in the mean time, I hope everybody has a good day.0 -
Evening lovelies. Not had time to sit and read for ages!!
Will catch up.
Went to Bakewell - husband has a cabinet in the Antiques Centre selling jewellery- and the Christmas market was dancelled due to the weather, then went to Chatsworth and the market there was lovely. Very windy though. Carpet got laid today in the spare room, so I have spent most of the day miving things into that room, all my presents are all together. Just waiting for the bed to be delivered on the 14th, feels like ages away, but it isn't.0 -
_party_ HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY pinknfluffy! I'm glad you had a lovely weekend, it sounds amazing!
vulpix I LOVE that selection box! I am so doing that for people next year!
mandco oh that sounds rubbish for your poor DS, I hope he is on the mend now.
04624181 I hope your DD feels better soon.
whitesatin I have my fingers crossed that your DD has the baby soon!
freespirit oh I do hope that what they've done for your DD is enough and it won't come to her not having a choice with childbirth.
fiesty a card and tipple sound like a good idea for your neighbours. It's awful not getting any sleep, you must take things at your own pace and take care of yourself. Although it's surprising how little sleep you can survive on! I'm glad the move went well and that you're finally in your new home. :T
mrsinvisible oh how rubbish finding mould on the ceiling! I expect that's the last thing you need.
funny bunny I ordered from Tesco Direct a few weeks ago and my order came within a week.
murie ah i'm glad you had a good time at the good food show, hopefully see you there next year!
Welcome Jobo and Kittins!
Well we had an eventful weekend as Wiggle is ill again. It started when he woke up from his nap on Saturday, he was really hot and very grumpy. We thought it was because there were a few people there for MiL's birthday tea but then Saturday night I ended up only getting about 2 hours sleep! Wiggle kept waking up crying with a temperature, then at 3am he was hysterical and in the end the only thing to calm him down was to sit on my lap and watch the television. So that's where we stayed, he fell alseep on me and I had to stay awake as I was holding him! I did try to move him once when he was sleeping, I thought I could go and put him in his cot but big mistake! It's amazing how rubbish TV is at that time of the morning! We took him to a walk-in centre Sunday morning and they confirmed he's still got an ear infection so he's back on the antibiotics.
We viewed a house that we really liked, but then we also visited a new build site and saw a floorplan for a potential house that we LOVE the look of. We are really keen, but it isn't built yet and won't be available until Sept/Oct next year so we would have to rent in the meantime. I think if the prices are right we are going to go for it. I have heard some people say new builds aren't very sturdy, does anyone on here live in one? I know they're not like the old brick houses but they can't be that bad. We would get so much more space for our money and the next time we move we want to be in it for some years to come.0 -
Sorry I know I just posted a mega long post but I was putting a stocking together for a friend today and it made me think about how much I love doing stockings. If any of you have enough time i'd love to hear who you've made stockings for and what you've put in them? I have done the following:
Wiggle: bubbles, personalised flannel, socks (his tradition of getting socks every year is starting early!) and a Milky Bar polar bear - he hasn't really had chocolate yet so that'll be a taste sensation for him! I'll also pop in a clementine when it comes to it.
DH: golf balls, fave shower gel, Cadbury's Snow Bites, £5 Starbucks voucher, can of Coke, scratchcard, mini Henry screen cleaner and i'll also put in his fave car magazine and an orange.
Friend: £10 New Look voucher, hand cream, lip balm, choc orange, scratchcard, Minstrels and a mini bottle of champagne.0 -
