Got a few bits up while the boys played this morning. They wanted to go to lunch at M&S and, as it happens, the town centre was buzzing as they are doing the Christmas lights later today so the kids got lots of freebies and were very happy indeed. Their mum and dad will be here in a minute and will take them home. I will be on standby this evening and during the night in case baby decides to come.

A neighbour gave me a lovely mirrored Advent calendar a while back and I forgot about it. She won it in a raffle and didn't want it so, tomorrow, if I can, I will go out and find 25 little treats to put inside each door. And, you know what? I think I will put a few treats in for me for a change instead of always for the grandchildren. I wonder if I could fit a miniature drink in them, lol.

Hope everyone is continuing to get into the Christmas spirit, if not spirits.

kaya 1991- hope you managed some wrapping x
mrscd- thank you that sounds lovely I shall try it xx
whitesatin-sounds like kids had fun. I think you should treat yourself with the advent gifts as you deserve a treat.

I have just been through daughters toy drawers. Have thrown a small amount and have a nice black bag full of toys for the CS. She has been quite ruthless and Im proud of her. Not bad considering I did it 4 weeks ago too lol x
Have got a huge list of things to do but will have to see how much I can get done with DD off as she is not fit for school. Put the clean christmassy bedding on all our beds, could not wait any longer. Been recording lots of christmas themed cook shows to catch up on.

DD and I live with my parents and we're looking forward to 2 Christmases this year. We're having an early Christmas next week with my brother and his GF, as they're going away on holiday, so DD and I finished wrapping all our presents this afternoon :)

Knowing me, I'll see other things I just can't leave in the shops in the next couple of weeks, but am pretty sure that I'm done and dusted for all bar my TAs, and other school people. Phew!
  • Thank-you for the birthday wishes xx

Hope you had a great birthday fluffysox

We are back from what can only be described as an amazing weekend.
Elf was amazing, easy to see why it is the highest budget stage show of all time, I can highly recommend. Wish dd's had been with us, but I'm informed they are having a great time at centre parcs with their Nana!

Oxford street looked beautiful all lit up, and we ate china town, again, such a lovely Christmas atmosphere!

I was truly spoilt with some amazing gifts, including a McLaren Honda tee (ready for silverstone!) and no.7 advent calendar from dh & dd's.

Without doubt though, the highlight of my birthday was getting to spend quality time with dh, no work, no kids, no dogs to walk... Bliss!

Our Christmas tree is up, and lights are on, ready for dd's to decorate once they're home tomorrow.

Going to read back through & catch up properly now, goodnight all x
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
  • Not been on for a week or so and wow you can chat lol. Started my Christmas temp job Monday and been helping my mum to decorate her new house before she moves on the 19th so been really busy and not done anything christmassy at all.
Has anyone ordered anything from Tesco direct lately? I made an order 14 days ago and on the receipt it says expected collection date of 7 days but it's now been 14 days. Nipped in when passing to check if parcel was there and nothing but they did give me a tub of quality street for the inconvenience which was nice of them but still don't have my item!
Can't wait to get paid so I can make a big dent in my Christmas shopping as starting to panic now as still need quite a bit to get xx
  • Forgot to say happy birthday to the recent birthday girl/boys and congratulations and best wishes to recent births and anyone due soon xx

Morning- had an amazing time at the Good Food show- yes Princesskitty I did sample a few yummies on your behalf!! (and congratulations on the house offer btw - did you see anywhere you liked over the weekend?) Got some lovely pressies for foodie Son, and an absolutely fabbo mint and lemon cordial for me which sounds yuk but tastes really really lovely! ( Im easily pleased lol!)

Free- those cups look brilliant- are you sure you are not Martha Stewart in disguise? Glad DD's op went OK, hopefully this will have sorted it (and the newly discovered problem) out long term. Hows Thumper now?

Feisty- that's a very generous thing to do for your neighbours - hope they appreciate it and that their moaning was just a blip x

Pinknfkuffy- sounds like you had a brilliant time! I agree- much as I love my kids and animals, quality time with DH is very precious cus it is so rare.

Whitesatin- fingers crossed for the imminent the arrival of your DGS x

Funny-Bunny- my sis has been waiting for an order since 2nd November! Every time she rings them they say its definitely on its way! Having said that I am picking an order up today that I placed on Friday which was delivered into store on Saturday.

Don't know how I managed to do it but I have run out of washing liquid! Off to Morrisons in a bit to get some and get my free pack of herbal tea (coupon on freebies board) for sis as she loves it. She just txt me asking if I will take her to argos as her naughty cat did something unmentionable on her bed yesterday which they didn't notice til they got into bed last night! Oh dear ( but I did chuckle to myself lol). Just hope Argos isn't as packed as it was on Friday when I went with DD- it was awful.

Enjoy your day everyone, take care x
    lovin' this site!

    Morning all.

Hope everybody is ok and the weather has not caused any damage to anybodys homes x It was really blowing a gale here last night.

kittikins- 2 christmases, very jealous. what a lovely idea xx
pinknfluffy28-Glad you had an amazing time, elf sounds fantastic. Hope dds have fun decorating the tree.
funnybunny-how is the new job going? Tesco and asda seem to be having a hard time with their deliveries at the minute. Tub of quality street is a nice gesture.
murie- Sunds like you had a great time at the good food show.mint and lemon cordial sounds gorgeous.
Mrsmoneypenny- good luck with the wrapping today x

Well dd is now full of a cold too. Im hoping this is the back end of her being ill. My day of planning for the elf is out of the window lol x She is so excited about the elf arriving tomorrow morning. I was going to do a north pole breakfast but I will leave it until weekend when we have more time.
Merry christmas sprinkles to everybody x
  • Morning :) I just lost my long post so will have to summarise!
The tree is up! :xmastree: well the real one anyway, we got it Saturday and couldn't bear to put it in the garden...the artificial one is down from the loft and is going up tonight, then we'll be fully Christmasified in our house :D
We saw the lights get switched on in the town centre on Friday and was such a festive-filled lovely night, we've decided we're going every year now :xmassmile
I also had a few comments from some of our scrooge-like friends about being so excited about Christmas, they keep saying it's November! well I will be smug tomorrow and annoying my friends I'm sure lol :rotfl:
I skimmed through the posts and good luck to those awaiting/ newly arrived babies and Feisty hope the move goes smoothly.
Not long to go now...can open the advent calendar tomorrow wooohooo!!!
    I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:
