  • Afternoon everyone, i am shattered, i have a very poorly Thumper atm bless him! I got my £50 amazon voucher for changing my gas and have already spent it :p i bought a Thermapen, i have wanted one for a long time and it was a good price then it went down another £8 before my eyes with a free silicon cover which saved another £4.80 so well chuffed, i also got myself another tart burner, some christmas trays and tablecover and a couple of kindle christmas books, all very selfish but i spend all of my survey money on everyones christmas and birthday presents so thought s*d it!

BABYBOO that is fabulous news, congratulations nana :D absolutely love the name Harper-Lily its gorgeous!

NIC love the cushions you clever thing and even better not spending out any money! I am on a ban of spending as well atm :o I am hoping to buy christmas tree this weekend and let the branches drop before decorating on tuesday :)

LAZYSHEEP i will keep an eye out for tote bags cant think of anywhere off hand

MANDCO thankyou for the price of the HP colouring book

    CAZ thinking of you today!!

WHITESATIN hope DDs labour goes as smoothly as possible

Free - have you seen with Ikea if you buy one of their trees for £25 you get a £20 voucher which you can then spend in January. I don't know what Ikea trees are like but just thought I'd mention it in case anybody does usually get a tree from them :)

    Congratulations Babyboo :)

nic, I LOVE your cushions, they are so cute. I love Christmas cushions anyway and the fact that you made them yourself is just fab.

04624181 - I had my youngest off for a few days this week with a bad cold, sore throat etc but she is back in school today. I hope your DD gets well soon. Out of interest and a very random question, do the numbers in your name mean anything or were they just random numbers you chose? You don't have to say what they mean, I was just curious as to how you came about with the username because most people on here have a word of some sort :)

Feisty - I hope you are able to relax soon and not be too stressed about things. All that matters at the moment is that you take it easy to make sure little one is cooking nicely. Once baby comes along and you're all in your new home you will eventually settle in to your own routine, which will then make it easier when you want to start doing other little bits that need doing xx

Moneymission2015- lol they were part of my staff number when I worked at a bank. When I initially joined MSE every name I could think of was already taken(well any name I could remember) So I settled on that x DD is still not great and sounds very croaky x Bless her she has spent the day either in bed or on the couch snuggled up to me.
freespirit66=you deserve to treat yourself. We always feel so guilty when we spend money on ourselves dont we?

Hubby and I are still debating whether to buy the xbox one for ds. The original deal I saw has gone up by £10 now but I dont mind staying up late tonight to see if I can get a good deal when the black friday mani starts. If not he can have money and buy it himself after christmasx
Its the info you need to know about beforehand that makes the buying the problem. I have had to research the heck out of these machines and to be honest I hate computer games and consoles
  • Just dropping by to congratulate everyone with new babies in the family (or new babies on the way)! Very exciting, and just in time for Christmas :)
  • Babyboo - congratulations to you & your family. Harper is a beautiful, unique, name!

Whitesatin - exciting times, best of luck to all.

Free - hope little one is better soon. Isn't it strange how us women feel guilt over treating ourselves? But we certainly deserve it!

Dh and I are off to London tomorrow for a long weekend. We are going to see Elf the musical for my birthday on Saturday. I must admit, I'm feeling a little nervous with all the horrible ISIS threats, but dh is determined we are going to enjoy ourselves!

It does however, mean that for the first year since I left home, we won't be following my late Nana's tradition of putting our Xmas tree up on my birthday. I feel quite sad about that, but I will put it up with dd's Monday night once we have collected them from my mums.
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
  • MONEYMISSION thankyou yes i know Ikea do that deal, every year i think about it but as its over an hour away i always wonder if its worth it, 2 trips = 2 lots of diesel IYSWIM i might do it next year when the new Ikea opens 10 mins away :D:D

04624181 thankyou i know its a woman thing, putting everyone else before themselves :D

KAYA i hope your eye appointment went well and you had a lovely evening

PINKNFLUFFY i know us women should do it more often :D thankyou he has been so ill, he literally sat on my lap all day watching tv, had no interest in his toys on the floor, i have had nothing but puke, poo, and snot today, i had forgotten how ill littluns get :o Oh i hope you have a wonderful time, i really wanted to see that but it was just too expensive, my DS is up in London tonight at the theatre, but he said he isnt letting them win on scaring people to not do anything :o Im sure your nana would want you to have a lovely time my lovely

Morning al- Im back after a busy few days, Yesterday we had a girls day out at the German market in Birmingham. DD and I have been many times but this was a first for mom and lil sis. Mom hired a scooter( a disability scooter not a bike- although I wouldn't put it past her to opt for a vespa if she had the choice lol) She is mobile but wouldn't have been able to walk around town and seen everything. We had a lovely lunch at Eds Diner in Selfridges, then on to Grand central. Again it was a first for mom and sis, and I have to admit I felt quite emotional looking at mom and seeing how amazed she was seeing how everything had changed since she last went to town about 15 years ago. It was a lovely lovely day.

Feisty- hope the move goes well. Let others take the strain x

Baby Boo- CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a beautiful name. Im so happy for you all xx

Whitesatin and Caz- fingers crossed its gonna happen today x

Free- hope Thumper is better soon, its heart wrenching when they are poorly and you cant help them. And good on you for treating yourself! You swallowed the frog to get the vouchers so you deserve something for yourself x

    Pinknfluffy- enjoy your weekend xx

mandco-my last cat was obsessed with the tree and tinsel! She used to spend half her time in the tree peering out at us (easy when she was a kitten but not so good as a fully grown cat!) and she used to LOVE and I mean LOVE eating tinsel! We had loads of sparkly cat sick- not nice but festive in a way I suppose! Didn't seem to do her much harm as she lived til she was 19.

Nic- those cushions are lovely- x

To everyone else- I hope you all manage to bag good Black Friday deals if you are after them.
    Take care xx
    lovin' this site!

    :bdaycake:HAPPY BIRTHDAY FLUFFYSOX :bdaycake:

DD2 has gone in for an op this morning so i am up early worrying :D its only a small op but still a GA. This problem started when she gave birth to thumper so i am bl**dy hoping that this sorts it, luckily she has private health insurance through work so it has only taken a few days to decide that the treatment isnt working and get her in, she needs to be well for next weeks trip to NY, mind you so does Thumper  The LR is all clean and ready for the tree now, ornaments put away and my led tree put in conservatory, today my jobs are the table present cups, clean the fridge out and write a list of ingredients i need for christmas baking, so i better move really, have a good day everyone!!

04624181 i am so sorry i keep meaning to say i hope you DD is getting better

MANDCO aww honey i hope you feel better after the migraine, they take up so much of your time dont they?? Oh and poor Taz as well, i hope he feels a lot better today, it seems everyone has a touch of something atm doesnt it? Haha that did make me laugh about your cat, that is funny :D Are we going to see tree pics, pretty please??

MURIE ooh i didnt see it that way yes you are right i did swallow a big frog to sort the change :rotfl:
feel better now :D Oh i loved Birminghmam Christmas Market when i went a few years ago and we went into Eds Diner too for a drink, that has brought back some lovely memories! Im glad that you had a lovely time with your family and that your mum was able to join in, it is a long walk between all parts of the market isnt it?
Murie i did love your words:

We had loads of sparkly cat sick- not nice but festive in a way I suppose! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • we also had a cat with a penchant for Christmas tree climbing, she also liked to fight the baubles She didn't eat the tinsel, though, she just 'removed' it and hid it under cushions.
Hope all the poorlies are feeling better, and baby producers are well, and in for an easy labour.
Just had a call from school to collect DGS as he is not well, (second time this week) l wondered if it had anything to do with an hours detention he has tonight, but when l saw him l could tell he was peelie-worlie, and he has put himself to bed! Probably just a bug, but perhaps a call to the GPs is in order, in case the school get 'funny' about repeated absences.
Tonight is a night out for me, as DD and beautician friend are taking their mums out for Christmas dinner, whoop whoop.
Why is it that a small task can lead to a full mornings time? I set out to make a bed up for DSIL 2 who is coming to stay on Tuesday, but in the wardrobe in that room there was a scarf/gloves set to be wrapped, so l tried to find it, boxes and bags everywhere, couldn't find it, so had to tidy the wardrobe to put things back, then make the bed. Bedding was in another bedroom in the ........wardrobe, where l found.......... the blithering scarf!!!!!!! if there is a scotty up there, please beam me up, l need a break!
  • Afternoon everyone, ok this is the last of my crafting now for christmas!!
