I love the cushions too, I have some Royal Stewart tartan fabric somewhere.....now all i need is some time to get sewing but can't see it right now.
  • Hi Everyone, well what an emotional day and night!! My gorgeous granddaughter Harper-Lily was born this morning at 8.08 weighing 7 pounds 13 ozs. Mother and baby are now both doing well.I decided last night in my infinite wisdom to remain downstairs taking 40 winks on the sofa as I couldn't settle. I also was rather naughty and decided I wasn't going to take all my meds, just the ones I really had to,because if I took my usual cocktail I would be out cold and no good to anyone. I did tell my hubby just in case.So I spent the night wide awake drinking mega amounts of coffee attempting to distract myself reading my kindle.Dil mum and I were texting each other all night with updates so the parents to be we're not being pestered by the both of us at the same time.I tell you it was a long night and I can't begin to put into words how thankful I am and also so grateful to the people who worked so hard to make our little miracle possible. We went to the hospital at lunchtime and to hold that little one in my arms was amazing.Harper has a full head of black hair and she slept through the whole visit bless her.I hope you don't have much longer to wait Whitesatin and good luck at your app tomorrow Caz hope all goes well. I'm going to read back while I drink my hot chocolate then it's goodnight from me, I have taken all my meds Take care everyone and thank you so much for the lovely posts

Congratulations to you and your family, Baby boo. I am so pleased for you all.

Right now, I have just waved my daughter off as she has been having some sort of pains since 3.30 but not sure if it is full blown contractions. They might send her home again but her last two babies were born very quickly and she doesn't want to take the risk of that happening again so we shall just have to wait and see. I will be waiting for updates and hope that they at least monitor her rather than just send her home. The boys are still asleep and I will soon get them up, fed, dressed and ready for school. Not sure how much to say to them really as they will not settle at school otherwise. I will update when I can. x
  • Still behind the thread, so will be posting replies over a few days to try and catch up ;)
vulpix I'm so glad to hear the op worked on your back and that it has eased for you, great news.

murie oh blimey it's easy to have one too many tipples there! :p I found the programme from last year so might oreder some bits of food that I enjoyed last year like amazing scotch eggs of various flavours, the only problem is I won't get any promotions that they offer at the show.

fiesty really glad to hear the house is all coming together! I know it's difficult when you're a perfectionist but you have to keep in mind that you'll get them done in the end. How are you feeling now you're so far into your pregnancy?

freespirit you might be under-selling yourself, it sounds like you sew some great things! Perhaps you are better than you thought. :)

04624181 yes my DH is now the same, he's really into Christmas this year. He's even been talking about getting my Christmas presents which is really early for him, he usually gets them about a week before Christmas! I think he was also a bit shamed by his best friend who said he got his wife's presents in September!

ellie I think the photo calendar is a lovely idea. I don't think is meh, they didn't want anything from you so it'll be a nice surprise for them.

I'm sorry if i've missed things out, this is a flying visit. I ordered another present for DH yesterday, one more to get then he's done! :T

Tired :rotfl:physically I don't feel too bad at the moment (will be 32 weeks on Monday and the fear of being induced at any point is still looming!) but I am so over work now ;)

Well it's been a while my Xmas friends,so a massive hello to Murie, Freespirt & Peppapig I have so missed you. Also Pinknfluffy,Princesskitty,Irishrose,Mrsmoneypenny,Fiestyfidget everybody I haven't mentioned and of course the newbies. I apologise now for the long post. As you know my DH was made redundant 18mths ago, then unable to start new job as during a routine opp a large tumor was found and he was diagonised with cancer. It has been life changing for us, 4 opps later with more planned and in & out of hospital myself.I have felt very low & down, struggled to pick myself up & keep going.Im sorry for the troubles some of you have had,it's not been a good year for everybody. On a brighter not congrats Feisty so pleased for you, which leads me some good news. This Wed I'm going to be a nana for the first time!! DS & fianc!e are having a little girl, she also is an ivf baby.I honestly thought I would never be a nana.My nerves are like shredded wheat now, will be glad when she is finally here.I hope to be back later with Xmas chat, popping in while I'm able

Hello my lovely, welcome back to the festive fold, you have been missed! You and DH have been in my thoughts since you last posted and I'm over-joyed to hear you are going to be a Nana! I can empathize with the fear you had over never getting to that stage. I was convinced that my Mum would never experience the joys of being a grandparent too. Take care of yourself and let us know lots of baby news xxx

BabyBoo- so glad to see you have posted x Well nana-to-be your excitement levels must be off the richter scale! Your new DGD will be something positive and wonderful for you all to focus on. Hugs to you and your expanding family, and as always you know where we are if you need to offload.

Free- its amazing the amount of carp I collect too in the kitchen- I still have a whole lidl mag from about 3 christmasses ago cus it contains ONE recipe I like!

Feisty- take one day at a time and breathe- if things don't get done then they don't get done- people will understand you have other things on your plate at the mo, if they don't then tough its their lookout! As long as you, DH and Jnr are ok then a perfectly finished home/present list/ shopping list isn't important in the grand scheme of things. I'm gonna throw caution to the wind here and I really don't mean to offend you (or anyone) but once baby arrives perfection will go out of the window. Babies couldn't care less if their surroundings are messy or unfinished, all they need and want is a full tummy, a clean b*m and a warm loving mommy and daddy, which your baby will certainly have. Routines have to be established over a period of time and unfortunately babies aren't very good at reading the memo lol. In my experience a well ordered life and a very young baby rarely go hand in hand. Im not trying to be patronising or condescending but I get a little worried when I read that you are getting a bit stressed. Im really concerned about posting this as I totally don't mean any offence or want it to be taken the wrong way xxx

Clumsy- try to take it easy for the rest of the week if you can x

    Hugs to all xx

How on earth could you offend me with such a lovely and thoughtful post? I have had a fair few people tell me the same thing (although none were put as lovingly as yours, just very bluntly!) and I am quite intrigued as to how it will all pan out. There have been times when I've been very ill or DH has been in hospital where perfection has gone out the window and although I can honestly say I didn't feel any happier or lighter, the chaos and mess did stop registering after a while ;) I think once we are in the house and my urge to nest is no longer suppressed I will be a lot calmer :)

Urgh I'm loaded with the cold and feel miserable.
Also fed up being poor. I was sitting looking on Pinterest last night. I always like to buy a couple new decs each year, but can't afford it this year. So I thought I'd have a go at making some envelope cushions.
I've had both the Christmas and tartan fabric for years. Just lying in a drawer. Quite pleased how they turned out.

Well if that doesn't sound like a festive euphamism I don't know what does :rotfl:

Gettingtherequickly - you could also split up some bags of coins etc or depending on funds and recipients maybe split a box of lemsips/strepsils?

Ordered my neice's christmas present from the black friday on amazon this morning, purely by accident as I had been thinking of getting it and there it was, already live when I got to work at 7.30 so whipped out the card pronto!

Need to wrap my SiL presents either this evening or tomorrow as we're seeing her at the weekend and this will be the only chance to deliver - probably should also write the card now I think about it.. :D

Only got a few presents left to get but a couple I don't order until closer to the time in case the OH buys them for himself first! Does anyone know where you can get cheap canvas tote/shopper bags with funky designs? Everywhere I can find seems to be wholesale and I only want a few...

Hugs, hot chocolate and mince pies to everyone :xmastree:
eBay and Etsy usually have some fab ones :)
