    Morning all
Princesskitty, film was a bit slow if I'm honest, it was a couple just planning their 45 wedding anni party when a letter arrives telling the husband a girlfriend from years before his marriage who went missing in a mountain climbing accident had been found perfectly preserved in a glacier. It turned out they were very much in love and used to pretend they were married in order to stay together in houses and lodges etc. The wife then starts to question all aspects of their married life together especially as they have no children, take no photos and have a dog called max, wife finds lots of cineslides in attic of the young and perfect looking girlfriend and a case of note books and diaries, it is implied she looks Pregnant in a couple of the slides and a dog called max is mentioned in the notebooks, she asks her husband if the accident hadn't occurred would he have married this girl instead of her, he replied yes. The film had no closure as he kept telling her how much he loved her and marrying her was his best decision but she couldn't let go of the fact he'd had a life and love before her. Honesty did not pay in this case and we couldn't really see the point of the film unless it was to make people examine the secrets in their own lives.

I'm currently writing stacks and stacks of Christmas cards, rather sad to note there are more names I need to cross off my list of friends and relatives no longer with us.

I want to put the tree up as I've seen a few spring up around where we live but I've promised I'll hold off till Dec 1st. Still want to get up in the attic and rummage in the baubles.

I am making up "winter repair kits" for those in my my class, 3 guys, rest female. I have got some of the little Santa trousers and need to fill them up. Currently have lip balm, a puzzle book & pen, a mind puzzle. Going to get packets of mini chocolate in pound shop, and some tissue, because we all need that! Anything else you can think of, need to factor in getting value for money?

How lovely to have three babies on the way, :j not just BabyBoo being a nan but bubbies for Caz and Whitesatin too. Looks like there will a few 'baby's first Christmas' items being bought over the next couple of weeks. I too wish nice easy labours all round. When DD was pregnant our birthing plan was for a long thin baby with sloping shoulders and a tiny head that would puff up perfectly as soon as it hit the air lol x

Good luck ladies, you may live in Peppas hope :) A friend had a grandson 10 days ago, she was beyond excited as because of various issues, her daughter can't have children and her son was unlikely to have any. Son's wife hit jackpot and I was talking to my friend the next day to get all of the details. It was only when I gasped that she realised in her excitement, she was telling everyone that bub was 6kg, not 6lb! Even worse, no one noticed and actually commented that he was a good weight:rotfl:

    Sixth Anniversary
    One month to go!

I'm waiting around anxiously for a hospital appointment in an hour or so. It's hopefully the last procedure I'll need for my poor eyes - it's a little bit of laser work to follow up on one of my eye operations a couple of years ago. I don't know why I get so stressed about these things as they don't hurt at all, but I'm a naturally anxious person so I can't help it!

I'm also going straight from the hospital up to London for an industry awards ceremony for work - terrible timing but they've spent a small fortune on all of our tickets so I have to go! There's nothing unusual about going to the eye hospital in a cocktail dress right?

Hey GTQ, I've done winter survival kits for my sisters. I have put

2 Sachets of hot chocolate (bought a huge pack in home bargains so have loads for my daughters to use over Christmas)
    2 sachets of coffee
    Lip balm
    Small tub of hand cream
    Hand sanitiser
    Socks
    Tealight
Pack of tissues - handbag size pack
    Small Christmas tree decoration

I don't know how much I spent as I have been buying them bit by bit for the last few months. I got the majority of it in Home Bargains though so not expensive. The only things I didn't get in HB was the hand cream and the small tree decoration. I had the hand cream free and the tree dec was on sale on dotcomgiftshop back in August.

I did buy them gloves too but as I have put the stuff in to a mason jar (also HB), the gloves wouldn't fit so I've just wrapped these separately. If you are using a small box, basket or gift bag you could put gloves in it too :)

To all those waiting for baby arrivals, send my best wishes and hope its a quick and easy delivery. So exciting!

I've ordered a few more things for people and finally starting to come up with ideas for my dad. It's nothing major but at least I've got something for him now! The pile for my OH is also starting to look better so I really feel like I'm getting somewhere now. He has also given me a few ideas so at least I can get him some stuff he wants and also give ideas to other people when they start asking.

I still haven't done any wrapping. I've also still got DD's advent books to wrap, I've wrapped 2 so far, so only another 22 to wrap. Oh dear!

Oooh thanks, never thought of the hot chocolate, coffee or hand sanitiser! Don't have HB down here, so going on a mission to get the rest of your list :) Thank you!

Thread is getting moving now :xmastree:

Free – The holders you have made look amazing!!

Princesskitty – Definatly got to be having wiggle, I think children make a big difference to Christmas, even when you love it as much we all do without them! They add an extra special bit of magic!

Vulpix – ‘The crack of my bum now runs up to my shoulder blades’ – I nearly spat my tea out :rotfl: Glad you are recovering after the op and much better.

Babyboo – Sorry life has been a litte rough recently but wonderful news that GD is on route!!

    Moneymission – Tree looks fab!

Treasurequeen – Thanks for the Yankee spot in Wilko’s, If I manage to get near one I’ll pop in!

3forholidays – Wilko’s often have some good offers on for trees! We have a 5ft one which was £10 and as much as I want a taller one, its been going 4 years and is fine!

Whitesatin – has your little GC arrived yet also? All these babies coming in to the world how exciting :D (sorry we have some friends who are expecting and currently I am very broody haha!!)

CazD – How very exciting!!! Best of luck to you!

I am feeling quite behind this year! I have not written any christmas cards, although I do have them!
I am doing a christmas craft fair Saturday for the british legion in the village so i'm all systems go making things for that. Once i've done I need to finish the rest of our wedding thank yous (which I keep chipping away at - 220 of them in total:eek:) then I can finally do christmas cards :wall:
Going to pull all our christmas decorations down at the end of this week (some have already been sneaking out :rotfl:) when we put them away they are all going on to the loft instead this year as we are trying to tidy the spare room up so it doesn't look so much like a junk room.

I am off work tomorrow so going to get up early before going for my nails and food shopping to get as much done as possible. Fingers crossed I can finish most of the craft stuff tonight and then i'll start to feel like i'm catching my bottom up :o:D
2015 has been the most amazing year but my goodness has it been busy!!!

Hot choco with cream and marshmellows on all round :coffee:
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
    Mum to two boys :heartpuls
  • Baby boo, whitesatin and Caz good luck with all the babies coming! How exciting! Keep us updated on what's going on!

mrsinvisible I think it's a great idea to raid the Avon stuff, she will just be so happy with what you've given her wherever it has come from.

Clumsy good luck with the essay!

mrs-moneypenny hmm it does sound like a funny film, and a little bit depressing! It's frustrating when you don't feel like the film has closed properly.

Gettingtherequickly a 6kg baby?! Rather them than me! :p

kaya I hope the procedure on your eye goes well and that you enjoy the awards ceremony.

newthrift 220 thank yous?! Phew i'm tired just thinking about it! I hope you get everything ready for the craft fair in time and that it goes well.

I haven't done anything very Christmassy in the last couple of days, i've spent most of today at my friend's house as she had to unexpectedly spend a night in hospital on Monday night, she came out yesterday so I went round today to help as she has a 3 year old and a 6 month old. We had said we weren't getting Wiggle anything else for Christmas, but my friend's 3 year old had a toy Dyson and Wiggle LOVED it so now I can't resist! I only have a very small list left to get now though. The trickiest thing is a frame for the cross stitch picture i'm doing for my parents, I have to find a good fit and try to frame it myself.

Urgh I'm loaded with the cold and feel miserable.
Also fed up being poor. I was sitting looking on Pinterest last night. I always like to buy a couple new decs each year, but can't afford it this year. So I thought I'd have a go at making some envelope cushions.
I've had both the Christmas and tartan fabric for years. Just lying in a drawer. Quite pleased how they turned out.
