  • neighbour's just told me Disney store have lots of stuff on sale and if you spend (she thinks it was £20) you could buy a big cuddly from behind the counter for £9.99.

  • Mrs_Ryan- I buy my calanders from the Calender club online. If you sign up to their newsletter you get discount codes and free delivery offers. As I'm disabled it saves me going to my local shopping centre to get the Calender and now I can look at all the calanders in the comfort of my own home. The calendars come well packaged so they don't bend in the post. At the moment it's free delivery on all orders.

Also on the calanders club website I have just bought some mini cupcake candles for 99p perfect for stocking fillers. And they look good enough to eat :rotfl:

As of today I have officially finished my gift shopping!!:j just the food to buy and decorations which isn't so bad.

  • Morning everyone :D only 39 days to go....omg only just over a month away I'm getting so excited!
Thanks for the Wilkinsons tip Springdreams, and the tree decorations. The angel I got was so beautiful from the Range and only £3 so will probably go and get another one...
Free, any excuse to go in the Range :rotfl:I saw the stags you bought and they're lovely. I hope the anxiety levels go down, and it's good to vent about it
Well done on the job Nic, sounds perfect :) also I sat down wearing my coca cola Christmas truck t-shirt waiting for it to come on during x-factor and no such luck, when will the Holidays be coming????!!!
Sorry to hear about the heating IrishRose, so annoying when things like that happen
PrincessKitty I hope Wiggle is on the mend, I prefer online shopping too - only annoying when it doesn't arrive on time!
So I finally bought my wrapping paper for this year...got it in the card factory, it was only 99p but bought 6 rolls because each one was only 2m so probably not very MSE but there were 3 kinds that matched and were sparkly and had pictures and writing on them...so fussy when it comes to wrapping paper!lol
I'm looking forward to this Friday for payday because it's been a particularly heavy financial month...on the bright side we've just got small bits left to buy now, thank god because we have almost 2 chest of drawers full of presents, and that isn't with the OH's presents locked in my cupboard in the office lol
    Best start wrapping tonight! :)
    I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:
  • neighbour's just told me Disney store have lots of stuff on sale and if you spend (she thinks it was £20) you could buy a big cuddly from behind the counter for £9.99.

Yes they have a Mickey or Minnie for £9.99 if you spend over I believe only £10 this year, but don't quote me on that :)

However, they are also doing an offer where if you buy one of the big teddies, you get another one for only £5!! The ones I saw included in store were Stitch, Sven, Olaf, Lotso and Dumbo, but I know there are more online too. I'm gutted because we got both our daughters the Olaf and Stitch ones last year at normal price :(
  • Hi All, I hope everybody had a nice weekend.

Free - I hope you are feeling better soon. I sometimes find myself awake at silly hours with things running through my head, it's very frustrating. I hope the anxiety passes for you and you can enjoy not just Christmas, but also the run up to the big day :)

Princeskitty - I hope you're feeling better now too and are all having a great time in Center Parcs. I hope Wiggle is better too, they always seem to time it when you've got plans coming up don't they!

Treasurequeen - thanks for the tip about the calendar club. My OH always gets calendars for his mum for xmas so I'll point him in the right direction. Hopefully he'll actually listen, any moneysaving tips I give him seem to go in one ear and out the other, for him it's all about spur of the moment purchases!:rotfl:

I actually do watch x factor and was very surprised that the coca cola advert wasn't on this week, I was sure it would be after all the other adverts being released last week. Surely it must be this coming weekend now!

We had a lovely weekend. It was a very rare weekend where our daughters stayed at their grandparents so we had a night to ourselves. It was lovely, we had a wander around our local city centre to get some Christmas inspiration. We didn't buy anything because we wanted to go somewhere for food while we were out so we didn't fancy carrying all the bags around with us. It was just nice to be able to have a browse without worrying about the kids getting bored or spotting us buying stuff that they shouldn't know about.

I've hopefully managed to find a new decorator. He is coming to look at the job tonight to tell me how much & whether he can definitely do it before December. I am hoping he will say he can start next week :rotfl:

Apart from that I have nothing planned this week. I do need to go through all the presents I have now though to get an idea of how much I've got for people so I can get a final list of what I still need to get. I also need to try & find somewhere else to stash them now as the spare room is overflowing and we can't even get in one of the wardrobes now. Once my room is decorated I can put some of it under the tree, but that's going to be at least another 2 weeks.

I've still not got anything for my dad apart from little stocking filler type things really, so need some ideas. He did mention a DVD box set he'd like but he said it in front of my sisters too so I think one of them might end up getting it, I think I will have to check with them & see if we can split the cost between us as a joint present then I'll just get a few more little bits for him to go with his stocking fillers and chocolates.

  • Afternoon everyone, i didnt get on last night as watched IACGMOOH (my start of christmas run up now) and it was on til 11, i was completely shattered from not sleeping again sat night grrr! And i had to be up early as have Thumper today :D I found some lovely packs of 10 bars of chocolate in christmas wrappers in Lidl yesterday for only 99p they are a perfect for the foodbank so i got a few packs of them to go in my donation box. I also got a pack of 2 christmas melamine plates and a pack of 2 christmas melamine bowls for 99p each pack in the 99p shop for Thumper to use in December (i will make a christmas nut of him :rotfl:)

PRINCESSKITTY hope wiggle is well enough for you all to go to Centre Parcs have a fab time!

NIC aww sorry that you get them too its horrible isnt it? I havent really thought about that as worried it would cost a fortune and i really dont have much left over each month, i suppose it wouldnt hurt just to get a quote though, thankyou for the suggestion and yes i feel much lighter too when things leave the house. Flipping eck 3 weeks!!!! I am good at recycling but that would be a nightmare! Oh yes def christmas 24 over x factor :rotfl:although i dont get that but True Christmas, Sony Movies and Channel 5 have been feeding my obsession quite well atm :D

PINKNFLUFFY thankyou :D aww im not surprised you value your weekends with doing long hours that is how my DD1 and DS feel after a long week at work. I hope you feel better soon, oh no that isnt good about the jury service (another fear of mine surprise surprise) its not fair that you should lose out! Hope you had a lovely day!

CHRISSY aww thankyou that is a lovely thing to say, my son is always saying to me 'mum you are stronger than you think look how far you have come' too!

WHITESATIN oh what a lovely keepsake to hang on the tree, i think that is a fabulous idea! Yes i agree about the cost of the banner vs making one

PEPPAPIG aww thankyou my lovely, i will look into it and get a quote. Yes that is how the kids feel that they can relax and be themselves and do what they want after years of someone always having a go at them for everything they do, it is a very chilled out household now! Actually that is a good idea of having the kids here to help deal with someone as they have quite a bit of holiday still to take before the end of the year i could arrange it to coincide with that. Yes the Paris events have been absolutely heartbreaking havent they? We live in such horrible times, these poor innocent people were just out having a good time and will never return home again, devastating! Sorry i cant help with the ipad question im on an old fashioned laptop still :rotfl:
Glad your roast dinner went well with your lovely family!

MRSRYAN the candle is gorgeous! I would have been so upset about the calendar as well, some people are just so bl**dy dishonest, but how heartwarming of the shop manager to do that for you

KAYA oh sorry that you get them too grrr! Glad your weekend in Bristol went well, i love your tradition of the glass coke bottles, i love them too, reminds me of being a kid!

RUTHHONEY hope your bathroom is finished soon it will look lovely!, thankyou for the book recommendation i will look for that tonight

FUNNYBUNNY glad your present buying is going well, there are some fab christmas jumpers around atm

MRSMONEYPENNY im not surprised you were glad when your boys got home, this is how it makes you feel, scared to do anything, but we cant live like that because that is what they want!

TREASUREQUEEN ooh well done on finishing your gift buying!!!

ELLIE they are flipping gorgeous and great value for money but up close the antlers are a bit rough! Dont the presents take up so much room at this time of year :D

MONEYMISSION aww thankyou, glad you had a lovely weekend child free :D will keep my fingers crossed about your decorator

It's been booked for months. It was supposed to be dd1's thing to do instead of a party but just getting round to going. Can't wait to pick up a few stocking fillers.

Got my wrapping paper, just need to pick my tags up from paperchase. Finally got round to going to the range. Loved the christmas stuck. Got a couple more decorations. Xx

Free, eldest has gone again tonight with other friends he's a huge fan so goes as often as he can when frank turner is touring uk.

Just had a frantic wrapping session for my shoebox appeal boxes, Dh takes them to work and got an email this morning saying guy who's collection them is in tomorrow for them! No warning at all, just got really annoyed with the operation Christmas webpage as you can't print labels off from an iPad it appears - they are just going to have to go with post it notes on and if the girls at work who check them get time hopefully they will bring a couple out.
Borrowed some brown wool of mil so operation knit a Robin should go ahead tonight.

    Hi fellow christmas friends:xmassmile
The pages are moving fast now we are approaching christmas.

princesskitty29- I hope you and wiggle are feeling better. Hope you all managed more sleep and wishing you a lovely christmassy break at centreparcs
Nic-congratulations on your new job xxx
freespirit66-You and your family have been through so much, i cannot blame you all for enjoying relaxing and spending time chilling out. Panic attacks must be very hard to deal with but remember how far you have come, remember we are all here and also set yourself achievable goals. Do not put yourself under lots of pressure just because it is christmas. I am guilty of it, thinking I can redecorate the whole house, have all the carpets cleaned etc then panicking because i havent got enough time.
pinknfluffy28-dd is having lego for christmas so have got all that to come lol
peppapig-hope your sunday lunch went well
Irishrose12-Christmas24 is fab but I lose huge slots of the day lol
Mrs_Ryan-well done you x feels good when you know you are on the homeward stretch doesnt it?
kaya1991- glass cocacola bottles is a fab idea!
funnybunny-My ds is exactly the same, he is writing things he has already got down on his list just to bulk it out lol
Mrs Moneypenny-isnt it great to have everything organised and in piles ready? My hubby just laughs at me but I love my system.
elliew8-glad you got your wrapping paper sorted out.
moneymission2015-sounds like a lovely weekend x sometimes it is just nice to be able to recharge you batteries kid free. good luck with the decorator.

Did 2 hours of wrapping and wrote down some bits I still need. DD is done apart from a nintendo dsi but she is having a used one as have already got her main gift. DS is proving more difficult to buy for. Got some money gifts to sort out so will withdraw the cash for them tomorrow and put aside. Really want to be getting the last of the gifts with this months wage but think may have to use some of decembers wage too. Still need to buy FIL, my dad, stepsisters BF, and my ds. me and hubby just write each other a love letter each, and I buy all the gifts for a stocking for us both x We love the love letters and we also get gifts too xx
  • Evening everyone, the only christmassy thing i have done today is read my christmas magazines and rip out nice recipes for christmas while Thumper has had his naps :D

P-PINCHER oh you will have a fab time at the Harry Potter Studio Tour, it is brilliant, i would have loved to have seen it all done up for christmas though, lucky you :D

MRSMONEYPENNY its hard for us mums but good for them that they are still doing what they want to do! Its really affected my two because of all the young faces that have lost their lives by doing something that all young people do and my third one is now absolutely terrified about flying to NY in a few weeks :o Oh that was short notice, lucky you had finished and were ready :) Love the felt stockings and snowflakes on Pinterest btw

04624181 aww thankyou for your lovely words, i too am desperate to have one wall decorated and would love it done for christmas but i dont need the extra pressure like you say we have enough pressure this time of year! I was hoping to not use Decembers money for bits as well but i have already overspent this month so its looking like i will have to too  Oh that is lovely writing love letters to each other, what a gorgeous thing to do for each other :)
