Can anyone who follows the thread on an ipad tell me how you keep track of the latest pages? On the laptop I just add the most recent page to my favourites and it overwrites the previous one I'd saved but it doesn't work like that on the ipad.

I only use the iPad, so would be interested too. At the moment I leave the page open all the time on a tab and I make sure I thank all posts, so when I come back on it is where I left off, or I just need to scroll down to see the last thanked post. When I look at the pages at the bottom I can see if the thread has moved on and can go to the most recent page, but usually I just start reading where I left and catch up. X

We are going to a big Christmas Craft Fayre later this morning, held in a local private school. I am told that there are always lovely things on offer, so bringing my purse with me.

Well, I've just got back and was very tempted whilst there. Some things were made by the girls of the school (such talent!) whilst others were outside stall holders. It was really busy and I am sure it will do well. I was thinking of making some Christmas bunting for the guest room but, for £6, I bought a lovely set, in just the right colours. Not a lot of point in buying the fabric etc. when they can be bought for that price! I also bought some food and a cute pair of red, knitted bootees for my grandson (due a week tomorrow) for Christmas. I will suggest to my daughter that she keeps them afterwards to hang on the tree each year.

You could suggest that she also adds some foil wrapped chocolates when hanging on the tree for 'Santa'. :D

So I'm done! Well, about 95% done. I'm going to get OH some jeans, socks, undies and a Dove for men set but that will be nearer Christmas.
I just had a few more presents left to get. I had bought my mum a watch but I was gutted to find when I went to wrap it the battery had gone! So I've bought her a lovely silver necklace and the most beautiful candle. I bought it in Fenwick in Leicester and this is it- http://bombcosmetics.co.uk/catalog/product/gallery/id/2531/ it smells Christmassy and it looks amazing! I'm going to have the battery replaced in the watch and keep it for myself.
I bought some Lion King fleece PJ's for my mate and a B&Q voucher for OH. However his other present caused some drama.
I bought him a Leicester Tigers calendar from Calendar Club as I do every year along with the gift sleeve. I went into another shop (naming no names but it's a large department store known for its budget fashion) because I'm on crutches juggling a bag can be difficult so I put the bag down while I paid for my other purchases. I left the shop and went into another and five minutes later I realised I didn't have the Calendar Club bag. I went back and asked had it been handed in both at customer service and at the till and no joy and they couldn't have been less bothered- clearly someone had been less than honest and just walked off with it.
I was devastated- I'm on benefits and every penny counts, and I buy this for OH every year as it really helps him as he has little short term memory and needs somewhere to write things down. I went back to Calendar Club, shaking and almost in tears and I have to say they were fantastic. The kind young man who had served me remembered me and when I told him what happened he was disgusted and gave me a discount on another copy and a free gift sleeve so I was very happy that something good came out of a bad situation.
To anyone with a Marmite lover in their family- Marmite are doing personalised 250g jars via their Facebook site or if you're near London in a pop up shop in Westfield Shepherds Bush. I'm off to London next month anyway so I'm going to go and get a jar for OH as he loves Marmite :)

Thanks Nic and MrsCD for the suggestions - will give them both a try.

Had a lovely family day and dinner went well so feeling much more relaxed about Christmas Day dinner now.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • IrishRose - Love the Ghost baubles!

Free - Sorry to hear you're struggling with anxiety attacks at the moment - I get them too so I totally understand how horrible it can be. Hopefully they'll start to calm down soon so you can enjoy the run up to Christmas :)

I've been in Bristol for the weekend to visit my friend - what a lovely city! We've just drawn our names for Secret Father Christmas (my friend refuses to call him 'Santa' as it sounds too American), so it feels like the countdown is on now! One of my friends' families is moving out of their beautiful big house just after Christmas, so they're having one last party in early December to give the house the send-off it deserves. I can't wait!

My family has a tradition (borrowed from a friend of mine) where on Christmas Eve, we'll have a glass bottle of Coke (or Diet Coke now - us diabetics spoil all the fun!) while we watch Christmas TV. I managed to find some in the reduced section of Sainsbury's for half price - very good considering the only 'problem' was some slightly battered card packaging! I'm very pleased with that one, so they're stashed away and ready now.

We're halfway through November! How is this possible?!

Just thought I'd post about a free Christmas kindle book that I've found. It's called Humbugs and Heartstrings by Catherine Ferguson. Daft, but a fun read.

Off to page 148 to start the catch up...

    Eta-
Ok. Just a quick reply as hubby is hovering, wanting me to go to bed.
Stamps-it's a bigger initial spend, I know, but costco sell stamps in bulk (1st and 2nd class), and I think it's about 5% cheaper. I know it doesn't seem like much of a saving, but it'll keep us going for ages and if the Royal Mail increase the prices again, they're still valid.

Overseas posting of gifts-the Book Depository is free postage worldwide. If that helps...

Mid way through total bathroom renovation, which is a nightmare. Thank goodness I can shower at the gym/spa! Right, getting nagged so off to bed. Night all!

Oh! Forgot to ask-whoever got the 'I'm dreaming of a white Christmas' wine mug-where did you buy it, please? Got a friend who I think would love one! Thanks...:)

  • Evening, can't believe how quick it's going!
Christmas present buying is in full steam ahead mode now. I have almost finished my youngest son who is 2, he's the easy one to buy for so just the oldest 2 to get now. I've got my middle sons main present, the new skylanders that is out. My eldest son who is 9 has done a list but it's mainly rubbish what he has asked for and I know he's only asked for things just for sake of it, any body else find that with their children?
Meeting up with the girls for a festive drink in December and it's Christmas jumper attire so can't wait to trawl the shops for one!
Bed time for me now. Night x
  • Morning all
Sorted the gift stash into people/family crates at the weekend
Not far off at all now just a few stocking filler bits needed
Still got to finish dgs stocking, make mils cushion covers, do the stuff for the winter tree at school, finish knitting all the baby stuff I've promised people before Christmas and get the stockings all labelled and tagged for the second class oh and breathe LOL
Went out with people from work for drinks on Friday, which sort of made Paris hit harder as we were all just out having fun while that was happening. my boys went to a concert last night which I admit scared me witless till they got back, but I'm glad they went as Noone should be dictated to by terriosts what they can and can't do.

Hugs to all and please stay safe.
Today I will mostly be sewing ends in on snowflakes and playing hunt the ball of brown wool which I'm hoping not to have to rebuy
