Thanks freespirit and Money Mission, this is all a bit new to me. I have always been a very happy-go-lucky sort of person until I got PND when I had Wiggle last year, I have been absolutely fine for most of this year but could just feel myself getting dragged down this week and I have no idea why. I usually love this time of the year and I never used to get affected by the weather, perhaps it is just changing. It turns out the sore throat I had for a few days has evolved into a cough and a loss of voice so I obviously have some virus so perhaps that's just compounding it. I'm going to immerse myself in Christmas cheer! I haven't watched or listened to anything for about a week now so that needs to change!
Money Mission yes I am really excited about Centre Parcs, we have a fire in our lodge which i'm really looking forward to. Yes I think exercise is a great help, I don't have much time but i'm going to start making myself when I do instead of just sitting down. I've been doing a bit of pilates and went for a short run last week. I have actually done a marathon in my time but you would never know it now, I am super unfit and couldn't even run to the end of the road I don't think!I think I need to sign up to something like a 5k to give me a bit of motivation.
kiss_me_now i'm glad you managed to get the shoeboxes done, they will make some little ones very happy.
freespirit i'm glad you managed to get the scratchcards you were after. Stamps are ridiculously expensive, and the annoying thing is you don't get any better service - I hadn't received a couple of parcels i'd ordered, so I checked my meter cupboard and there they were but I din't have a card through the door to tell me they were there! I don't know how long they were sat there for! I'm sorry you are struggling too, it's not a nice feeling. Please keep posting on here it's lovely to get your posts. And well done on only being on half a tablet, that's really positive!
I've now ordered a few things online that I needed. I think they may have cost me a bit more but it's better than me keep going out to the shops and not finding what I need, I can relax in the comfort of my own home and wait for them to be delivered!0 -
Hi everyone,
Princesskitty29- I too suffered from PND with my dd 5 years ago and found it impossible to get out from under the dark cloud feeling. With help and tablets I felt alot better. I had the laryngitis type virus about 2 months ago and it affected me badly. I was down and had no energy, was constantly tired and just had no get up and go, felt down and not my usual cheerful self.Started to feel like I was getting better then it would come back. went on for a few weeks and dr said it was a nasty virus that is going round so please dose up, increase vits and be kind to yourself xx Any always come on here to chat to us mad lot.
Im going to have an evening catching up on here tonight. Absolutely crazy here at the minute, hubby is in london until tomorrow, went on sunday.
Got lots of bargains in home bargains yesterday. They had some vintage games in little matchboxes. They are fab and the packaging is all vintage. Got one each for us as a table gift for the christmas table. They were 39p each! Aso they had vintage wind up toys in a box too.I got the racing car, soldier and robot for the kids to do races with after christmas dinner. They were 99p each! going to go back and get 3 more for us adults. Couldnt get them yesterday as my mum was with me lol They are fantastic and I told 3 other people my idea whilst they were admiring them in my trolley so they dashed off to get some too lol Better nip today and make sure there are some left lol.
Will catch up tonight properly, have not stopped since hubby went away lol0 -
Wow it's going fast on here now - I have just caught up so I'm sorry to miss anyone out.
04624181 - the mulled Ribena was yummy, I took it into work and everyone agreed so thumbs up for that one.
princesskitty29 - I know what you mean about getting teary, it sometimes happens to me too and even though there's lots to be grateful for it doesn't help how you feel sometimes. So be understanding with yourself, bit of time and some Christmas cheer and I'm sure you'll be feeling lots better. It's good to have a cry and get it out of your system.
Freespirit - well done on the A/D's you should be proud of yourself
I've nearly finished my Christmas shopping which is good because everywhere was really busy this weekend. I believe the Trafford Centre was crazy and no one could park - which I hate so I'm glad I can sit back knowing it's mostly done for me.
I'm not keen on the John Lewis advert, I find it a more sad message than a cheery one but I understand why they've done it like that. It makes me think more about people in heaven than those lonely on earth.
We are off to Centre Parcs next week as well, I can't wait I'm really ready for the break and I love it there.0 -
I'm off to Sheffield today as I have a pre-course day thing tomorrow to sort out my DBS etc. I'm considering - if I get up there early enough - braving Meadowhall for a few hours to try and get some present inspiration for my Dad/Brother in Law. Probably won't£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0

For those looking for miniatures have you tried Just miniatures? I haven't used them personally but I am sure I have seen them mentioned in past Christmas threads on here (they also have an Amazon shop)
Might be handy if you're looking for individual bottles.
My shopping's ground to a halt as we had our boiler replaced last week and so I had to empty bedrooms so that they could get under the floor etc. I now have boxes and god knows what else everywhere and need to get that back before I can access my presents again!0 -
Thank you lazysheep, I will try them for the miniatures.
princesskitty, hope you are feeling a little better today. Take it one day at a time, take some extra vitamins and get yourself out for some fresh air and just make sure you have some time for yourself xx
Well done freespirit on getting your a/d's down. I have various family members who are on medication for depression and I know how hard they find it trying to reduce the amounts.
I'm a bit disappointed as we had arranged for the decorator to come and do our living room this month but he has contacted me today and said he had his diary mixed up and has double booked me, so can't come now until middle of December. I have told him I'll have to see if I can get somebody else instead because that will be too late for us because we have various plans with family coming over throughout December so I need it all done before then. Thing is I know how busy decorators get at this time of year because everybody wants things done before Christmas. I'm gutted because I was only saying to my OH yesterday that I was really excited to have the room finished and then put the tree up in the window
Family are starting to ask me for ideas that they can get for our girls so I need to start making a list. Problem is, everything they've mentioned to me so far I have ended up just getting myself because I didn't want it to get too close to Christmas and either sell out or have issues with delivery. Last year I suggested something to my OH's parents to get for our youngest but they ordered it too late so it didn't arrive, so on 23rd December they ended up having to go shopping to get one and were lucky enough to grab the last one on the shelf in the shop!! It eventually turned up on 28th December so they had the hassle of sending it back then too.
I need to get my girls advent calendars sorted. I bought them cute little advent bags last year which they loved so want them again, so I've just got to find things to put in the bags. I've got some things already, like nail varnishes, lip gloss and chocolates for both of them and then I've got some Barbie outfits for our youngest and other makeup bits for the oldest. But I also bought our eldest daughter the No7 advent calendar and have bought 24 books for our youngest which I need to wrap as her advent, so they'll both have something extra in December0 -

The last few years i have done 95% of my christmas shopping online its just so much easier and less stressful, as it is so annoying when you go to the shops and they dont have what you want in stock!

You beat me too it! I've used these before, they also do personalisation and I got personalised miniature spirits for DS1 &DS2 on their 18th with glasses. Also saw gift pack in Iceland with miniature Baileys, glass and chocs. Can't remember the price though.
Freespirit talking about the scratch cards prompted me to look on the lottery website as I need about 6 for the table and wanted to check out what was available. In case there's anyone else who's never looked this up before, they have the price, design, prize amount and number of prizes remaining. If you click on the card, there's statistics such as odds of winning etc. Fascinating, you could calculate the odds of getting at least one winner at the table. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I watched the JL ad at work online. It did bring a lump to my throat. I love the song, its an Oasis song that was the theme tune for The Royal Family. It also made me think of people I can't have a Christmas with! :A

MandCo - Sorry for your loss, hope things start to improve.
Treasure Queen - I love the idea of sitting in C0sta or $tarbucks watching the world rush by panic buying!
Mrs Money Penny - wow your photo shoot sounds amazing. What a lovely gift.
Dom Ravioli - Good buy with the Tassimo machine :coffee: We moved house on the 22nd December one year! Make sure you know where your decorations are! We had a plain green tree until Christmas Eve
Morgy9 - Thanks for the fruit cake info. I will put one in my basket when I do my online shop. :T
