HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRSINVISIBLE :bdaycake:
freespirit sounds like you've had a productive day but like you say all the little bits soon add up. do love the HB elves so cute and great value. you also reminded me that I need to get a couple more xmas scratch cards as the £1 ones seem to be going fastthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
MANDCO oh my lovely it is still early days and was such a shock it will take time, sending you lots of hugs, re the presents, if i was in your situation i would try and find somewhere like an old peoples home or a charity that will help, some men will be on their own this christmas with no family and no gifts, surely there must be something that will help them, we have childrens charities that collect presents, but i also understand if it would be too much too soon for you to deal with. I felt the same about the JL ad it didnt make me feel all fuzzy either, in fact i didnt really understand it at first its only after talking to some people about it, all with different takes on it that i sort of get it and i dont really like the music either
Im not sure if i have left it too late for the christmas scratchcards but it doesnt really matter if i have, what will be will be!

Happy Birthday Mrs I!!!
Have been MIA for a while getting DH's birthday sorted. Now that's done I can concentrate on Christmas!
Have spent the morning sewing ( and I HATE sewing!!) a poinsettia applique on a long sleeved red tshirt for my sister, I also hot glued some diamonte on (and burnt my finger lol), so its now all wrapped up and ready to pack away in her advent calendar pressies. That Tshirt has literally been made with blood (pricking finger) sweat (when I burnt myself)and tears (cus did I mention- I HATE SEWING!!!)
DD's BF is back to Uni this afternoon so I have packed the first 11 of his advent pressies for him to take back (he is back home on 12th Dec). He's gonna love me-not! His 1st Dec is a santa onsie! (courtesy of Tesco clubcard points in Febuary!) So after 3 sack fulls of advent stuff is gone today I may (just may!) be able to move in my bedroom!
Seems everyone else is cracking on with their preparations, hope everyone is Ok and hugs all round xxlovin' this site!

Hugs to everyone that needs them. Saw the John Lewis Christmas advert for the first time this morning and didn't like it at all. Suffering from depression the advert made me more depressed and it wasn't very Christmassy either (Sorry about the moaning).
On the Christmas front I have nearly finished just a few little bits to go and then I can enjoy my tradition. Of sitting In Costa with a festive drink watching everyone else panic about their Christmas shopping. Oh I love that relaxed feeling and giggling at everyone else.
Went shopping on Friday and saw that Elizabeth shaw has some new chocolates out for Christmas, orange spiced. Of course I had to try them and they are lush, very festive.
Anyone that is stuck about what to put in a male relations stocking how about a true utility key tool. Prices range in shops at £8.00 :eek:but I managed to get some online for about £2.00 each delivery included. They are very handy I bought one for myself and it is a godsend when trying to get paracetamol out of the packaging.
Mandco sending virtual hugs to you, I will have to have a look for the dark chocolate orange, I will have to try it!

Happy birthday mrsI
Hope everyone is well
I had absolutely the best day ever yesterday, me and Dh were told by dd3 to be in at 2pm yesterday but given no other hints. at the appointed time all of our five children appeared. They had arranged for a photographer to come and spend 2 hours with us so we had a fantastic time with the kids, dgs, two of the girls partners and even mil was bought round. We finished the evening off taking everyone our for a meal we see all the kids regularly but just not all at the same time. Part two of our Christmas pres is apparently going to be a canvas to remind us of the day. TBH the happy time we all had together would be enough.
Have a wonderful weekend allSPC~12 ot 124

Managed to get 3 packs of the 12 shopkins for £19.95.. only a couple of matching ones but dd4 won't care. i'm hoping they bring the shopkins dolls out over here before xmas but im very tempted to get one shipped from america next week so she def has one to open.
Got some fun bits from peacocks and some more of the tescos half price smellies sets. At least everyone will smell nice this year lol
I think i've finally found the water colour pencils and the alcohol markers dd2 wants for xmas. then shes nearly done. just dd1 to get a few more bits for oh and a lava lamp and headphones for dd3. So close to finishing!!!
Dh got another surprise ppi pay out yesterday. He's debating if to put it in to the house deposit fund or get our car back on the road. maybe he should do both huh lol Car shouldn't cost that much. Time will tell.
Feeling really xmasy atm.
You know what giggle, I actually find argos to be quite a lot more expensive than most other places so I'm not surprised it was quiet. I know they have the 3 for 2 offer on but when they had it last time I was working out how much money I would save on the stuff I was buying but the saving wasn't much compared to just buying the stuff elsewhere. There was one particular lego set that was £15 more expensive than it was on amazon!!
One of my friends works at argos and she actually gets a bit defensive whenever I comment on their prices, so I just keep my mouth shut now about it.
Great news about your OH PPI payout, great timing too with your car playing up & it being almost Christmas.
Happy Birthday MrsI.
Well I did some shopping yesterday and had a delivery arrive. I'm still waiting for another delivery and a bit worried about it because it was supposed to arrive yesterday because they need a signature so I have to be home, but it didn't arrive so now I think I might have to either try & find out what time they will arrive tomorrow or I'll have to arrange to go pick it up from the courier depot. Problem is this particular courier is almost 20 miles away from my house and the main route is along a pretty busy dual carriageway, so I need to work out what will be the best time to collect.
I finally managed to return my Matalan stuff and the refund has gone in already, so I'm happy that I'm not going to have any trouble with the refund.
I've put a few decorations up this weekend. Going to do the rest next weekend.0
