For the couple with children: a nice Christmas tree decoration - I have bought them for gifts from The White Company. They are pricey but there's usually a 15% discount code somewhere around and you can gift box it nicely. Even though it's only one decoration, the company should fit with those who buy from 'nicer' stores!!
For the teenage boy - have you seen those clocks that look like they've been 'melted'. They look like a normal silver, round, kitcheny clock-type of thing but have been introduced to heat and the bottom section has dropped down. Anyway (!), my youngest son (14) likes sciency stuff and he likes this type of thing. I've seen they normally retail around £10, but if you look around I've also seen them on offer for about £5-6.
For the younger couple, (might be a bit racy!) but, what about a bottle of nice massaging lotion - or a his and hers one?
Wouldn't worry about giving Amazon vouchers for the rest - I think most people would like to buy themselves something that they couldn't justify otherwise.
Glad DH's home. Take care.
Thanks so much lovely, I just remembered that we have a mini 'hamper' of bomb smellies that we had in duplicate last year that I earmarked for the girl in the younger couple. Seeing as it's monetary value exceeds £10, I'll have to be nice and spend the same on her younger brother, so another Amazon voucher it is - I'll have to start token gifts with the two older children next year.
For the parents (older couple) I have decided to do a homemade food hamper - any suggestions? I don't want to go down the sweet route as the mum always complains that they get too much biscuits and chocolate, so I thought savoury. They are also vegetarian, which limits a bit :rotfl:
DH and I had a lovely afternoon before lunch watching retro (well 10 years +) Christmas food programmes on the good food network whilst I was looking up hamper ideas
We've just realised that there should be at least a week where the kitchen is finished, but we aren't in the house. There is no reason I can't get a head start on making Christmas food up in advance and freezing it, I am chuffed at the thought of this![/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Morning everyone...it's the last Monday before November starts so I'm in an uncharacteristically good mood for a Monday morning!
PrincessKitty I'm so jealous about your winter Centreparcs trip - it sounds amazing
Free how MSE of you with the gas & electric!
Feisty hope your DH is ok and on the mend...for the presents 19 year old token gift there are £6 Star Wars t-shirts in Primark, for both of the couples maybe a multi picture frame, there are lots in the range from £3.99 and M&S shortbread are £4.50 at the mo as an add on for the snobbier ones
BBRosie you're so organised and loving seeing some wrapped presents, ours are all in a chest of drawers waiting to be Christmasifiedand I'm pretty sure my 6ft tree has 3 lots of 100 lights but I'm not 100% sure sorry!
Oh MandCo I'm so sorry to hear about your dad
I had a mare on Saturday as the oil in my car shot out of the oil container thingy (mechanically challenged here) and started seeping out of the bonnet so I'm having to walk over half an hour to the train station every day, hopefully my OH can get it fixed otherwise I'll be forking out for a new car
On the other hand I also had to go bridesmaid dress shopping on Saturday and spotted the Christmas shop:D:D:D cue some crazy childlike jumping around in the shopping centre
I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
Morning all
Hugs to those in need
Hope all are as well as can be, half terms over here so next stop Christmas whoo hoo
Spent £10 in wilkinson at the weekend on bags of bird food I'm going to make a hamper for my step mum as she loves having the birds in her garden so this will save her money and be something I know she'll use, might stick a bottle of wine in and say she can enjoy a glass while watching them through the patio window.
Mums bros and sisters pressies were all wrapped and delivered let week so I have a bit more space now.
It really is beginning to feel a lot like ChristmasSPC~12 ot 124

mandco - Really sorry to hear about your dad xx.
tatabubbly - Welcome, sounds like you're really excited about coming home and what a lovely surprise for everyone.
Ordered my Maple Molly's Christmas mystery box this morning which is quite exciting. Got loads of stuff from there last Christmas - such good quality, unique items and received their Halloween mystery box last week which I was thrilled with.0 -
Deepest condolences Mandco .
Christmas wise we are almost done ,I am hoping to get everything wrapped this week. My food extras consist of nuts , pringles and Pepsi ! I have just the Pepsi to get nearer the time and then a basic shop nearer the time .
Thanks for the thoughts regarding my DD unfortunately she is still having seizures and has again hit her face causing her nose to bleed again ,I have arranged to take her to the hospital tomorrow to have her VNS checked out if that's ok then I will have to push for them to revisit her drugs. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Louis was interviewed on the day and it was shown on the TV just before we left the house, he didn't even look interested in the concert and was very unimpressive TBH, not even the least bit excited about it, so I think he knew even then it wasn't happening. I remember thinking well he's gonna be a lot of fun tonight!
Don't get me wrong, if someone was sick and it had to be cancelled fine, no problem I totally understand, but don't let thousands of parents and young children turn up to the venue, spend all their money get he excitement up then 5mins before they are due on stage - 9pm tell us that it's off:mad:
The other 3 members didn't even have the decency to come out on stage to apologise or explain themselves, which leads me to believe they weren't even at the arena at all. I know that the people who had paid to do the meet and greet with them before the show weren't even able to meet them.
Then there was a big hullabaloo with getting refunds as they had to be claimed before 4pm on Friday:mad: Think they were making it difficult as they thought people wouldn't bother doing it and just go to the concert instead.............. boy were they wrong :rotfl: My friend and I were down at 1pm straight after work as we were determined to get it, and there was a fair queue. They tried to make it difficult as my friends sister wasn't able to go on Friday as her and her 2 daughters had flown out to Florida the day before, but as soon as I asked to speak to a manager and mentioned my solicitor they soon changed their minds.
I felt so bad for other fans too, there were people from all over Ireland there, paid for accommodation, transport etc. It was a disgrace, and not one free thing was given to anyone. Not even as much as a free coke:mad:
Anyway We had a big clearout here yesterday and DH is dropping a load of stuff off to the charity shop this afternoon during his lunchMe and the eldest DD is off to make a start on another room :T It's great as I've told the 2 eldest that we're getting the house ready for Christmas so they're more than happy to get rid of old toys, books, and help clean the place.......... I'm beginning to wonder if I can use this all year round:rotfl:

CHERRY ooh thankyou for that maple mollys link, wow it looks lovely, i will have a proper mooch later but have entered the comp
CHRISSY oh your poor DD, you must worry everytime she is out of your sight! I hope they can adjust her meds, especially with her lovely holiday looming fast!
IRISHROSE omg i feel fuming for you just reading that, what a bunch of little t***s, so they have a row and let thousands of kiddies who worship them down!!!:mad: How the hell can they give a deadline on refunding your money back:mad:??? Its Simon Cowells fault making them full of their own self importance! Just so he can make money, they will just be chewed up and spat out of the industry in the end. I hate kiddies being let down by anyone, especially when its them that have put the boys up where they are!!
