Been missing in action for some time but have just caught up with all the posts I've missed. Had a rough time lately looking after my younger brother who is going through a breakdown. It's been so hard seeing him so ill bit he's starting to improve now slowly.

On the Xmas front, has anyone seen Xmas pj's in Primark yet as I need some for my 4 little uns for their Xmas eve box. I say little but the youngest is 8 lol
  • I'm another OU student : ) just started a BA in business management and yes I am also putting off doing my first TMA.

On the Christmas front I have had a few more orders delivered this past week & ordered more things today. I am desperate to put my docs up now, I've even sneaked a snow globe & Christmas ornament down from the attic.

I ordered some lovely Christmas ribbon from amazon & it arrived this weekend. I'm using it to tie around some of my sisters things.

I've updated my list now so everything I've got for people is now on the list. I find it's easier to keep track and remember what I've got for people. I've also got a running list of things I need to get which I add to if I see any good ideas for people.

Quite annoyed with House of Fraser. I ordered some wallpaper 2 weeks ago & was checking up on it the other day because it hadn't arrived yet so I just wanted to see if it had been dispatched. There was no tracking information on the order but I had an email today thanking me for my return & telling me my refund would be processed in the next 7-10 days!! Delivery wasn't even attempted, let alone me returning it. I was more annoyed because it was the only place I could get the wallpaper, everywhere else I could think of had sold out.

Oh well, I'll rethink now whether to try & order it again or choose something different.

Did I tell you all I made fudge the other day with DD2? She was off school unwell but getting bored, so I suggested we give it a try. I've never made fudge before so was worried I'd get it wrong but it was so easy & tasted great. I'm thinking of practising a few more times & then making a batch to give as Christmas gifts. DD2 also wants to make Christmas cookies to give as gifts too so need to start practising these too.

This happened to me last year with an order, apparently it was damaged in transit so the delivery firm automatically return them. Like you, it would of been nice to of been informed so I could of reordered
  • I'm a mad Christmas nutter, haven't been online in months, just seen this thread this evening. Pound land have some lovely Christmas decorations in at the moment.
Good luck with everyone's Christmas organzing
  • Haribo - sorry to hear about your brother - it's an awful thing. I once heard a doctor describe it that '...it's like a skirt that you've put together incorrectly. You need to take the whole thing apart and start from scratch, putting the pieces together in the right place.' What she was saying was that you have to completely fall apart before you can start getting better. Hopefully he will start to re-build and be even stronger. Best wishes.

Glad you and DH had a lovely lunch with your friends Feisty, bet it was lovely to talk babies too.

Hi Mrs Ryan - hope the rugby result was the one you wanted. We went and saw the France v Canada game at Milton Keynes and it was really good and we're not really even rugby fans.

Welcome SammyJ and TinyDancer - Christmas nuts fit right in here lol. Hope your little nephew is ok SammyJ, it's amazing how strong babies can be and it must be very hard for you all to see him suffering.

Haribo, glad to see you back. Sending hugs to you and your brother, you must have been having a really rough time and I really hope the worst is behind you and gradually he'll find his way back.

MoneyMission that's so annoying about the wallpaper but maybe it was fate and you're going to change your mind? (I know a question mark doesn't really belong at the end of that sentence and normally it would really annoy me but if I was face to face with you I'd have raised my eyebrows in a questioning way so that's why I did it if you see what I mean :D). I keep all my pressies on a spreadsheet too and I keep them for a few years so I can track back this year and see what I got for people for the past four or five years - my memory isn't good so it stops me buying the same thing for people year after year lol.

Free, the weather's been pretty yukky here this weekend but hope it hasn't dampened your Bletchley Park visit and hope your lurgy didn't develop into anything either :)

Had a tiring but very lovely weekend looking after DGSs (aged 3 and nearly 2) but they were so lovely and slept all night although getting up at 6.30 is still early for me and reminds me that I might feel the same as I always did but I'm definitely older!
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Ugh.. TMA's... Just no :( I have two due in within days of each other and just don't want to think about them!!!

Hi Peppa- yes thank you my team won! I was watching my club side Nottingham play but there were lots of international fans around the area as it was close to Twickenham. I think even if you're not a rugby fan the experience is amazing- I saw the All Blacks play at St James Park in Newcastle- being a wheelchair user I was lucky enough to be pitchside and the atmosphere was amazing :)

  • Hi All, after lurking here for the last few years I have decided to join in...

Christmas mad in this house with husband who has no festive cheer until he finishes work (retail) at 3pm on Christmas Eve! My 2 kids are Christmas mad too, at ages 13 and 10.

Just started my Christmas shopping, I love how organised you all are, I love how creative you all are and how much effort you all put into to making Christmas special for the around you.
