Hi everyone Long time no see:hello:
How are you all?? Hope everyone is keeping well.

I've been meaning to come back on here for ages now, but real life keeps getting in my way:mad: Have had a bout of illness that hopefully is behind me now just in time for the run up to Christmas:T

OH and before I forget Happy Birthday Freespirit! Hope you have had a lovely day xx

I'm not long in from doing some christmas shopping this evening. Went down to Boots as they were launching their Christmas gift guide today, and giving £10 points for every £50 spend. So got a load of gifts tonight for the nephews, nieces and other family members. All ranging from lovely wee Frozen Wash Bag sets, to Jack Wills stockings :T
Spent £150 and got £30 of points so I'm happy lol. Plus that's them done, just some younger kids to get and that's it done.
Also picked up a few things for OH and DD.
Went into Primark and got the most amazing Christmas wrapping paper, COCA COLA TRUCK style!!! Couldn't help but get excited and bought a few rolls of that.

Also got some PJ's for myself and my 2 elder nieces, and Harry Potter Dressing Robes for another 2. That's them done.
I've learnt my lesson with Primark. If you see it, like it, and want it, then get it there and then as it'll not e there ever again :rotfl:

I've got the kid's stuff mostly in, just waiting till around November time to see what they want last minute when they post their Santa letters off. I've been picking up throughout the year for them :) Most of the stuff I'm picking up is something useful for our Florida holiday next year lol. Killing 2 birds with one stone an all that:rotfl::o

Just got home from the rugby - France won but we were supporting Canada as they were the underdogs (and we were surrounded by Canadians). Fabulous atmosphere and we really loved it. Off to bed soon but so glad I popped in to catch up or I'd have missed a very special day...........

Freespirit, I've just made it in time so imagine me singing (but more in tune that it would be if I actually was) Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Free-eee, Happy Birthday to you!!!!! Hope you had a lovely one and enjoyed the cake!

Welcome to the thread Dumpling and welcome back BunBun and IrishRose - back on the wagon now for you two ;)

Murie I'm doing it in cream outside with pink accents and then inside I've done the pink but will be adding some pretty paper and then I have a mirrored panel to go on each side in the top half with glass shelves. At the bottom there is a cupboard which I've done cream inside but will have more paper and a painted wooden shelf. Have used very fine sandpaper to make sure it's really smooth and am using the clear wax as I don't want it to look aged (won't fit with DD's d!cor).

Clumsy that sounds great and perfect for you, so glad you got on ok. Def sounds a good idea to deal with people who don't work there lol.

Chrissy Eric sounds very sweet, glad you got what you wanted.

Night night all - talk to you tomorrow :)
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • How about post it notes, I am getting some with butterflies, bit of a theme going with butterflies this year. Does she use an iPad or tablet, there are some lovely stylus pens with sparkly stones in from£1 I bought lots of different colours, can't resist sparkle.any little light up things. Key ring with trolley coin.

Is there anything you could make? Diabetic sweets or cake? Small ones look lovely in cellophane.

I'm sorry, I never remember to check the beginning of the thread, and on the very odd occasion that I do it is never anyone's birthday! I do hope that you had a lovely day, that cake looked amazing!

Welcome to all the newbies, how lovely to have some more Christmas nuts! :santa2:

Thank you all so much for your amazing support, you really are all so kind and it's wonderful knowing you're all here. We had one of the worst nights yet last night but I'm trying to be positive and remembering that nothing that bad is happening and that there are people much worse off. Things just get out of perspective when you're tired. I think you're right Peppa I think my feelings are just down to tiredness. Onwards and upwards!

I'm popping to Asda this morning to get Wiggle some bits so going to see if I can pick any bits up off my Christmas list.
  • Happy birthday freespirit, that cake looks amazing, now I'm hungry!

Sound rough Princesskitty, hope things get better soon.

Does anyone do stocking for their oh? This will be our first Christmas as husband and wife and only the second one that we've lived together so I wanted to start some traditions so thought a stocking each would be a fun idea just not sure what to put in it now!
  • Asda had the 'Ultimate Christmas' magazine out! I didn't buy it as I've been disappointed with it in previous years and I prefer the other mags at Christmas such as Prima etc, but exciting that it's there!

mai_taylor I always do a stocking for my DH, he's very practical and doesn't really do 'stuff' so I pop things in such as his favourite shower gel, a bottle of personalised coke, some golf balls (golf nut!), his fave magazine and some chocolate etc. I love putting stockings together!
  • Hello everyone, I love your thread! I have been trying to keep up but it's moving too fast for me now, but will still be looking in when I can.
For anyone who is interested I just bought a House Yankee advent calendar from Amazon, (£21.33) they are reduced at the moment.

We do stockings for each other :) (or rather I love making OH a stocking and force him to make me one in return :p ) Last year in his stocking he had: a key ring key finder, grow a chili plant, Yankee car air fresheners, a star wars key ring torch, hot chocolate spoon things, a tub of white hot chocolate from Whittards and I think some sweets. That's everything I can remember, there may have been more!
