Crowdpleaser, I’m bin Woburn Sands so not too faraway. Glad there’s another Christmas fanlocally

Congratulations on the BBC article Kaya – hope you get to dothe book too.

GTQ you certainly have had a rotten week, sorry to hear about the loss of your colleague but glad the reconstruction op went well.

Hope you enjoy your hols and get to the Christmas ShopCherry

Ahh Freespririt, you definitely breed thoughtful children inyour family, little Thumper sounds like he’s inherited the same gene as your DSlol

Dkcrooby – were you trying to sneak out of lurkdom and backagain without us noticing?

Hope you get the HP dressing gown Dumpling - on-line Primark would be great, their car park here is a right pain to get out of so it puts me off going.

MrsI, a few people have said that about the magazine – thinkI’ll give it a miss, I’ve got a couple of Christmas craft type mags that Ibought last year so will probably re-read them. With my memory it’ll be like reading them for the first time anyway haha.

Nothing festive today but have been able to make good progress with DD's birthday cabinet - I think another day may well do it. Have realised I'll have to give it to her early though - it's a bit obvious standing in the middle of the dining room :D
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Peppa- that cabinet sounds lovely! I think Im just going to start again with the frames, brought some new paint today (sample pot form Wilko cus I got the chalk additive to add to it).

Kaya- That's brilliant! I have book marked your blog to look at in a day or so. Hope you get the book.

Nothing Christmassy today apart from Cumberland sausage rolls from Tesco £1.50, Tomorrow I am going to get lobster tails from Aldi for our special Christmas eve meal (they all have steak but I don't eat it). Last year lobster was elusive apart from Morrisons which tasted of...nothing! Not having it from there this year,
    lovin' this site!

    Glad I helped!

Ordered my wrapping paper. All 40 meters of the stuff!! I wanted to do pretty posh wrapping but at 1 and 7 all my efforts won't even be noticed so not going to bother except for the adults. Have decided rather than tags that both girls are having a completely different paper and colour with their stockings having co-ordinated coloured tissue paper. Saves faffing.

    Hoping I ordered enough :/
    Swagbucks £190 since 25/02
    One poll £11.75/£40
    Qmee £1.89

Now that is a great idea, I got the top ones from here last year which are reusable self cling ones if anyone else is liking this idea!!

    Hi everyone!
I haven't been in here for way too long. Hope you're all ok and in full on Christmas mode now!
I've read back a few pages, but didn't note down everything I wanted to say. What I do remember is that I wanted to suggest to JJ that maybe her mum might enjoy an adult colouring book and pens/pencils? I know both my mum and stepmum said they enjoy colouring, so I've bought them both a book for Xmas/birthday. Amazon have some great ones in the lightning deals for £5 and The Works also have a big selection (but wait until they have a 25% off offer-which they do frequently!).
Poundland now deliver and there was a free delivery code floating around. I ordered a cd called 'words for you' (or something similar). It's poems set to classical music, read by famous people, such as Joanna Lumley and Honor Blackman. As it was a replay cd, I listened to it first to make sure it wasn't scratched and skipped, and it was really relaxing. Maybe a good gift idea for some?
I do a stocking for my hubby every Christmas and I make him do one for me too. It is usually daft things that go in it. Or useful things like deo, handkerchiefs, etc.
This year I'm doing advent gifts for my mum. Every day from December 1st, she's getting a gift. Most were bought in the January sales and I got some fab bargains. I still need Christmas drinks (gingerbread latte, posh hot choc) and festive chocolates for the weekends, a lottery ticket and some festive biscuits, then I think she's done. Of course, it dawned on me that I need a gift for Christmas Day too!!! D'oh! Have decided she needs a kindle, so have been downloading free books I think she would like onto that. My brother better cough up his share of the cost for it or it's just from me.
I'm also thinking that I should make some notes to go with the gifts about Christmas traditions/customs from around the world. I found out that in Iceland, they exchange books as gifts on Christmas Eve and spend the evening reading. So, I'm now starting that tradition in this house! :-)
*eta-just read the bbc 'hygge' article and I love that idea. I think I'll rename our reading nook to be the hygge corner from now on.
Which reminds me, whoever bought Calling Mrs Christmas, I hope you enjoy it. It's a brilliant book! I've got a signed copy for mum this year.
Right, I've waffled on for ages now, so I'll say goodnight...;)

Evening everyone, i havent done anything christmassy today but have 3 things on my list to get in asda tomorrow while i do my shop for the freezer and christmas cupboard

P-PINCHER have you had a good read of the boots christmas catalogue? I wondered if i could pick your brains (or anyone else on here who usually shops at M&S for christmas food, i have my gift card for christmas food and am not sure which will be the best value, going into M&S and physically shop for christmas bits or order from the ready made food booklet, its just that some of the prices im like  , i really dont know what to do, any advice?

KAYA dont put yourself down my lovely it is interesting and very impressive, you should be very proud of yourself, i keep thinking of the word now, tonight i said to my DS 'can you light my candle as i want it to be very hygge in here tonight' he looked at me as if i really had lost it :rotfl::rotfl:

DUMPLING oh wow that king cole tinsel yarn looks so beautiful! Could we see a pic of your friends hedgehog i would love to see it? Yes i wish primark was online too, i have a list of things people on here have mentioned that i would like to look at in there, there is a big one in MK that you can drive right up to in a retail park, i think i will make sure we get to visit it when we go away for our weekend up there

MRSINVISIBLE oh no not again with the magazine, they are just so expensive to be disappointed with :( haha that did make me giggle, how many people do you buy for??? Mine are all in the top of the wardrobe on ONE shelf :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I hope your christmas shopping trip to matalan was successful and did cheer you up :)

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY ooh have M&S already started their weekly deals? I never get to hear about them unless its on here, its never on their website :o I will be near one tomorrow so i will pop in and get some shortbread, thankyou so much

BBROSIE thankyou for that will let DS know about the Disney BOGOF, and i still need to get Frozen haha

CROWDPLEASER oh well done for selling so much stuff!

PEPPAPIG haha i know i was very impressed with him, and he even wrote in my birthday card!!! Blimey things will never be the same again he started crawling properly today (finally!! only 11 months :rotfl::rotfl:) Good luck with getting DDs cabinet finished tomorrow :)

MURIE oh will have to check out the cumberland sausage rolls, isnt it annoying when things dont taste how they should? I find that with steak it just tastes of nothing, it used to be so flavoursome years ago, and chicken is the same!

SAVINGMONKEY wow there is a fab choice of window stickers! Thankyou for the grabbit tip :)

Peppapig I go into woburn sands quite a lot for work. It's lovely there.

Freespirit yes our primarni is great. We waited a long time for it in mk! Our closest one before that was Northampton I think and it was tiny and like a jumble sale. Mk is always pretty tidy and HUGE!!!

Rosie that's a good idea with the wrapping paper! Although here making the kids find the labels on them kind of elongates the process which is a good thing!!!

Ironing today and then I think we might go up to the aforementioned retail park as dd2 has a voucher to spend in next for her birthday. Might look in primarni for onesies for Dd1 as well whilst were there.

    Xxx
