  • Hi All

Oh am I glad it's Friday!! I feel like this week has just gone on for so long & to top it off I've had a stinking cold. At least I'm almost recovered for the weekend though, usually it's the other way around & I'm ill on the weekend and get better just in time for work on Monday :(

I did a bit more Christmas shopping last night. I did a Boots order, my daughters wanted a One Direction perfume box set so I got one of those each but I had a money off voucher which I used and also I bought some other things which meant I spent £120 altogether but will earn £20 worth of points for the order because of the Christmas offer they've got on the site at the moment.

I've got to catch up with adding all my shopping to my list too. I was so good for the first few months, always adding my presents on as they arrived so I knew what I had but the last few weeks I've had lots of things arrive and haven't been adding them on. I need to do it now though because I think there are some people that are now finished and also I think there may be a few gifts I've bought that were intended for those people who are actually finished, so I may have gifts that are surplus to requirements. Oops! It doesn't matter though because I can either give them to somebody else that isn't finished or I will keep them in my stash for birthday presents next year :)
  • Ty freespirit... have added a reindeer hoof print and elf footprint stencil to it now too lol. IT's hard to know where to show them off too though but all trial and error... Happy to take a look whenever you're ready :)

Dd3's phone came today... itching to have a play but i don't want to break the seal on it lol.. Got her one of those wileyfox swift phones... it should do everything she is itching her last phone to do. cross fingers!

Also had some of dd2's manga bits come from hongkong, hope i've ordered everything from over there now and can concentrate on the fun local shops instead lol

Happy birthday for yesterday Freespirit, sorry I missed it!

I come bearing some good news! I don't think I've mentioned this before, but I run a little blog just for fun about the Danish concept of hygge. A BBC journalist contacted me last week to ask me some questions about it for an article, and it went live today with a quote from me. My blog views have gone through the roof, and a publisher emailed me this morning asking if I'd considered writing a book about it! I've ALWAYS wanted to write a book and I'm ecstatic! Even if nothing comes of it, I'm very flattered. Here's the BBC article if anyone's interested - I think you guys will like it, hygge is a very cute, festive concept :)

I have one week left in my current job, then I start in my new role a week on Monday! Eek!

Christmaswise, not much to report this week. I bought some cards, but that's about it! I also managed to find a little service bell like you find in hotels on clearance for 25p in a local homeware shop, which is going to be a stocking filler for my brother. He treats us all like servants anyway, so why not go the whole hog?
  • Been semi MIA this week, have had the week from hell. My boss went into hospital on Wednesday, so Mon/Tues/Wednes morning were manic while we ensured that all that needed to be done was done. Then on Wednesday, just before he went into theatre, we receive the devastating news that one of the guys who worked for us had died on Tuesday, to say that we were all in shock is an understatement.

On the plus side, our admin girl had reconstructive surgery last week, she is home & chipper, although in more pain than she expected, but she is thrilled not to be lopsided any more!

Going to finish making my Christmas cakes this weekend, and will, hopefully, get carpet tiles laid, this will depend on whether my DB is free as I have conned him into doing it!

Hello all. Hope we're all well or as well as we can be. ;)

Nothing to report christmas wise today. Apart from my growing concern that the present I bought for my dad in early september (that's coming all the way from South Korea!) isn't going to actually arrive anytime soon. Delivery estimate has the 23rd as its latest day so I can't really make a complaint through ebay yet. Hopefully it will turn up soon!

Kaya - Hygge sounds like my kind of thing! :D

Will make sure I make a trip to The Christmas shop on hols to get my Christmas fix.

Went into Matalan today for last minute holiday items as been so busy so unfortunately had to pretty much ignore the wonderful Christmas selection - definitely need a proper look when I get back.

Free - sorry I missed your birthday. Hope you had a good day and that cake looks great!

Kaya - I recently read the Year of Living Danishly book and loved the sound of hygge. Congrats on the book and article!

Speak to you all when I get back.
