I come bearing some good news! I don't think I've mentioned this before, but I run a little blog just for fun about the Danish concept of hygge. A BBC journalist contacted me last week to ask me some questions about it for an article, and it went live today with a quote from me. My blog views have gone through the roof, and a publisher emailed me this morning asking if I'd considered writing a book about it! I've ALWAYS wanted to write a book and I'm ecstatic! Even if nothing comes of it, I'm very flattered. Here's the BBC article if anyone's interested - I think you guys will like it, hygge is a very cute, festive concept :)

How exciting Kaya1991! I grew my first pumpkin this year and wouldn't want to waste it by using it as a Halloween pumpkin, so I'll give your paleo pumpkin pie a go.
GC October £158.00/£220 And we're only halfway through the month!
    Car Loan £5381.28 ~ £4185.44 to go.
    Mortgage (Oct 2015) [STRIKE]£62 737[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£62123[/STRIKE] £61 502 to go.

I have one week left in my current job, then I start in my new role a week on Monday! Eek!

Christmaswise, not much to report this week. I bought some cards, but that's about it! I also managed to find a little service bell like you find in hotels on clearance for 25p in a local homeware shop, which is going to be a stocking filler for my brother. He treats us all like servants anyway, so why not go the whole hog?

I love this, what's your blog hun? X

Thank you! It's called Hello Hygge (am I allowed to put this here? I can delete if not!)

It's been a very strange day! I know for most people this isn't even remotely impressive or interesting, but I'm so excited!

Just seen the TV ad for the Daily Mail's free Christmas tree/turkey - my heart skipped a beat at the mention of the word 'Christmas'!

    Hello everyone :hello:

Kaya, my husband and I were discussing that BBC article yesterday. Your blog looks lovely, I will have a proper look in a bit.

I have ordered a load of king cole tinsel yarn to make some more toys. My friend is desperate for a hedgehog so I am making her one for Christmas as part of her present. I am also going to make some penguins as they are just so cute. The wool is so lovely and sparkly I am really looking forward to knitting it up.

I really want to get a Harry Potter dressing gown from Primark for one of my daughters. I so wish they did home delivery. I will ask my hubby if he will go and see if they have any left as it would be a great present.

Well, that's all from me for now, take care xx

Hi, all, I echo Free's sentiments to everyone, and Mai, where did you get that fabulous egg cup?
Glad you had a lovely birthday, Free, you have a lovely thoughtful caring family.
Well, Nev-the-shred is here re-laying the patio, from where DGS finished doing it last year, reckons a week will do it, but l won't hold my breath.
Christmas wise, l bought the ultimate Christmas mag, --what a disappointment--- it is rubbish not worth half of its price, l wont be getting it next year, that's for sure.
The soup dragon woke up yesterday and the result was a cauldron of 'scrubbing brush' delicious.
l am having a crisis of mind, at the moment, as with the lodgers arriving l will have to clear out some storage space for them, and can't see how to. Christmas has taken over half the loft, 2 wardrobes and a cupboard, oops!
The knitting continues, 2 cardigans completed and a matinee jacket ready for trimmings, but--- l hate sewing on buttons, so l'll wait and do them all at once.
l may have another trawl round Matalan this afternoon, to cheer myself up.
  • Nipped into The Works this morning & spotted some Christmas activity/sticker books for £1-£1.50 if anyone is looking for Advent/Christmas Eve hamper bits.

Bought 2 tins of shortbread biscuits in Marks, never worth the original £9, even allowing for the fact shortbread biscuits are generally more expensive, but £9 for the two was ok as a relatively cheap but decent gift.
A smile costs little but creates much :)
