weeclick I'd expect to pay a lot more than 99p for a Pandora bracelet with five charms, worry not! In fact, I sold one charm for £20 (a duplicate present) and a leather Pandora bracelet for £30 (worth £40-45) on Gumtree - very easy and it meant the buyer got to check them out and see that they were genuine before. I'm too scared to tot up how much mine is worth - 12 charms and still going strong
My mum went to Matalan today and said they have about 75% of their Christmas stuff out now! I've also just been checking out the Debenhams Christmas section online, and am about to make a start on The White Company! People at work were talking about Christmas plans today, so I feel like we're not totally alone in our excitement
Thanks Kayla I might give gumtree a go I actually forgot about gumtree I used to use it to sell big items of furniture! My only worry is Ive no boxes (my charming ex fianc! packed the very minimum when she decided things were over and left me stranded in Manchester on 29th dec - she even went as far to only pack one of each shoe so didn't have a pair other than what I was wearing!) But I had knocked £50 off the listing price compared to another seller! If it helps, my DD has been living in Rome for a month and is finding it hard. She speaks the language but has been craving company her own age. Uni is hard especially when you're so far away from home but your sister will be ok.
4 weeks in and I think DD will stay the duration of her intended (3 month stay): she's found a job and a bit of company so fingers crossed for her and your sister xx
I visited Rome last year, beautiful city but can see why she might struggle at the start, after 4 days holiday I couldn't wait to go home but hopefully she will stick it out and as you say it will make a world of difference making friends and having a routine! Fingers crossed for her!freespirit66 wrote: »WEECLICK yes im not surprised you had the best nights sleep inages!! Stress does take it out of you, and that is probably why you have beensuffering so many headaches recently. Aww i know it will be a long list but it will be exciting and like yousay you only need the essentials and get the rest as you go along, i have seen Pandoracharms go on our local facebay for about £15-20 each so make sure you don’t undersellyourself
Yes work think the same that it must be stress but my mum has had a flu and sinus infection and laid up in bed with it, she saw me this morning before work and thinks I might have a touch of what she has - Im thinking its the pillows need changed lol. Either way Ive promised mum and the OH I will at least phone the doctors as its travelling down my neck and shoulder now and paracetamol just isnt working!
Nothing Christmassy to report - Went to tescos in the hope of adding to the American Hamper but nothingCouldn't even find lucky charms! I did buy a duvet and frying pan though (ceramic so shouldn't need much oil which fits in with our healthy lifestyle!) So least the start of the house stuff has been bought! I cant wait til shes here, we have 4 days of shopping planned for the apartment and I know if Im in HB and places like that I will be shopping xmas too lol
Hope everyone is keeping well!Life is what you make it.0 -
Hi Everyone! I'm a newbie here but hope to become part of this xmas 2015 community, I haven't read much on this post yet but it seems like a lovely friendly place to be a part of, so I thought rather then be a lurker I would jump straight in!
Yesterday I started thinking about Christmas so today only seems right to start buying :rotfl: I have to buy a couple of birthday presents too and hope to get some extras ready for 'Party Season' in my DD class. Xmas-wise, I have to get presents for my DS, DD, DH, my parents, in laws, one set of grandparents, 3 nephews, and 1 niece.
I had a next vip slot through just now, so I have signed up and hope to buy a few xmas bits in the sale.

Need to catch up with the thread. Been a bit stressed / busy with family bereavement and family illness and have come on here to see everyone's ideas and take my mind off of it a bit.
Also if anyone has any ideas for elderly ladies that would be great. I'm really struggling as 2 of them have alzeimers and one has cancer. I was thinking hampers of snuggly things but it's difficult.
Hi weeclick, congrats on the house move and your moneysaving discount

Thanks for this Crowdpleaser. I was talking about this in work yesterday, a few people I work with said they'd bought a tub of chocolates but I said that I'm waiting because I remember last year some of the supermarkets had offers for a very short time so I'm holding out for the offers again. So now I know Morrisons are doing it I will try and get there tomorrow. I don't shop in Morrisons often but there is one close to where I work so I should be able to pop in on my lunch break. Knowing my luck though I will buy the 2 for £7 and then somewhere else will do a better offer!0 -
Afternoon everyone, just a quick 5 mins catch up while Thumper takes a nap,
WEECLICK omg your ex sounds a right nasty piece of work, what the heck was taking one of all your pairs of shoes about! Im so glad you have found someone that you can trust again, good for you!! Oh hope it is just something your mum has had and it goes, it might have been a combination of the two!! I get it down my neck when i have migraines, it is so painful and stiff, i would try and get some stronger painkillers

I too would like to hear any ideas for gifts for elderly ladies (and men), if anyone has any. They are impossible to buy for, they already have everything!
I've got a cold at the moment. I have had it for a grand total of two days and I'm already thoroughly fed up with it.0 -
I would like to join. Feeling so inspired by everyone preparation. It's been quite a year in our house. I've recently finished radiotherapy having been diagnosed with breast cancer on my anniversary in December.
Looking to make some homemade gifts for friends this year. Ideas would be gratefully received.
Bought my ds3 Tracy island. Thought best to get now as I think it'll be difficult to get later on.
Must dash now. Tea almost ready0
