Quick question to all you lovelies, how much do you spend on your 1st December hamper? I'm quite intrigued to start one, but worrying it could get mighty expensive lol[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Morning all
Thank you freespirit, that is very kind.
Think I will have 12 for Christmas Day. 5 vegans, 4 vegetarians & 3 meat eaters, I'm tempted to add a partridge in a pear tree on the end of that LOL one of the vegans will be my weaning DGS so he will just have tastes of vegan meal I would think.
Need to meal plan. Added bonus is starter is always mushroom soup but one of the vegans hates mushrooms so he gets a separate soup. DH has now decided he's avoiding gluten so. Just remember to get gluten free rolls alongside the ones I usually make for the starters
Must dash boys need shifting out to work and school and so far seem to be showing no interest!!SPC~12 ot 124

Freespirit we went out for Christmas dinner a couple of years back, it was about £50 an adult and £25 for the kids (I have 3) but they did offer the kids a regular kids meal for £7 which was a main meal, juice and a pudding. They all had that, but it meant they had fish fingers or burgers for their Christmas dinner! That didn't sit well with me lol. But they loved it. It did cut the cost back. We were also having a small Christmas dinner on Boxing Day with the inlaws, so they still got their Turkey and trimmings.
I must admit to love having everyone here for Christmas dinner. It was so nice to cook for everyone and see the kids all playing. It also meant they could get to bed at a decent time.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

Wow that sounds like so much hassle!! Christmas dinner can be stressful at the best of time :rotfl:. I bet it's lovely when it's all done and sorted though.
Just a quick one to say there have been some whisperings that Smyths are having a sale this weekend.0 -
Afternoon everyone, im feeling a bit glum today i dont think the weather is helping either!! I have just finally plucked up the courage to ring BG and ask them to take my prepayment meter out and put a credit one in, it was here when we moved in 16 years ago and i found it convenient paying as we go but i need to cut down again and it will be cheaper not having one (how much difference it will be i dont know but i am hoping for a good bit cheaper i currently use £120 of electric per month) it could be that making me feel like this too as you all know what i am like (panicking) when i know someone is coming here to do a job!!! Anyway i cant wait for my shop tonight as i have ordered 4 christmas food bits to go in my christmas cupboard (oh the little things that keep me happy
)
PEPPAPIG haha i am the same i got all confused the other night when i went to answer and some posts were missing, i had to do two posts!! Might do what you do and use Word.
BBROSIE oh that is fab paying for one out of your vouchers, money neutral!!!
VULPIX its lovely to see you!! Have you had your op yet or are you still waiting?
MRSMONEYPENNY wow i bet that takes some planningi would be scared i would forget the crucial part for someones dinner :rotfl::rotfl:
NIC omg yes i thought it would probably be the same, have you actually asked your family if they would like to come to yours again? Its hard isnt it when there are lots of people to please, luckily its just me and the kids and one OH and DGS so pretty easy to please, but as the family gets bigger and bigger in years to come i expect we will be back to trying to please everyone:D

Freespirit no mens onesies in my local yet but lots of kids ones they seem to changing over a lot of the stock in the last few days though in no particular order. The weather is awful today I got soaked 3 times doing the school runs all I want to do is wrap up warm with some hot choc & watch some tv. Oooh xmas stock food anything exciting? was rather pleased to find 1/2 price bisto gravy granules for my stash in mrT today
Fiesty I know its so hard but please do rest and try not to feel guilty about not being able to do much.
I guess it depends on what you want your dec 1st hamper to include and how many people its for? I do the xmas elf thing so lots of the bits I get for that might be stuff others would put in the hamper.
dec 1st I usually do a nice large xmassy fleece pj's & slippers for the kids, advent calendar, dvd & popcorn, special dec for the tree, some kind of xmas food treat (could be homemade) and that usually costs somewhere between £50-£75 depending on deals which is pretty scary when written downthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
