Welcome back to posting 04624181, nice to see you back.
3forholidays - wow, surely you must win something big soon, you're certainly putting in the effort! Have a lovely break.
I completely agree about Sky Moneymission, it really grates with me that we're paying probably twice as much as someone who has just signed up. Unfortunately we're in a bit of a blackspot here so our options for telephone/broadband and tv are very limited.
Nothing Christmassy today but we have rewritten our wills and set up a trust for the house so feeling happier about that. The problem is that it's so lovely working out what you're going to leave and to who - makes you feel like you've already given it to them. Then you come down to earth with a bump when you realise you're going to be dead before anyone gets anything lolIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Evening everyone,
:bdaycake:HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRSMONEYPENNY :bdaycake:
3FORHOLIDAYS i never thought of the dyes, especially seen as i have bought black  thankyou, you arent kidding that they grow up so quick its frightening! I cant believe you havent won big with the amount you have entered, i feel a bit guilty because i have won loads of things over the years, nothing big but seen as i only enter now and then, its not a bad percentage! Wishing you lots and lots of luck for the big win
04624181 of course we remember you my lovely, i remember talking to you about my DD2s back problems and her treatment, i am so sorry you have ended up with permanent nerve damage, its horrible to live with permanent pain and very demoralising to say the least! Glad you have got christmas started, it all makes a difference
MONEYMISSION yes i think she is definitely going to, the reason we are so fed up with Amazon Prime is they seem to be charging for a lot more tv series all of a sudden, i was just catching up with Revenge and i was halfway through season 3, went to go on the next day and it was now charging!! I had to stop watching 3 or 4 other series because the next season was payable, and it isnt cheap! So now i am back to Sons of Anarchy, as the seasons i want to watch are free, thanks also for the answer about the towels
PEPPAPIG i must redo my will, i have been saying it for the last 3 and a half years !!!#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -

Hello lovelies, dashing in with an update on tests. The initial appointment went really well and we left feeling extremely positive! Sadly I got a phone call yesterday that changed everything, they've spotted something on my blood tests that is a major cause for concern, something so bad we hadn't even anticipated it.
The prognosis is not for definite, so I was given the options of wait and see, (strongly advised against) further NHS testing, (warned the method used can actually cause more damage) or a private trip to a Harley street specialist who would draw blood and send it to America for specialist testing, they will also be able to do in-depth scans on the day and use this with the blood test results to give a more accurate diagnosis.
Luckily we are saving some money by living with the in-laws so I have been given an emergency appointment at the Harley Street clinic on Tuesday. It's been a very sad and anxious few days and I am dreading the two week wait to get the test results back.2024 Challenges

Feisty I'm so sorry to hear your news, you and DH must be feeling like your whole world is being turned upside down at the moment. I think you've definitely done the right thing in going with the Harley Street appointment. Waiting two weeks will be horrible but at least you'll have an answer at the end of it and won't have jeopardised your health any further. Will be keeping everything crossed for you. xIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

I can't find where I last posted so I don't know how much I've missed....
... but I'm back from my holidays
I see the Christmas card chat... well... I suck at buying cards!! I make mine, orrrr I fail to make cards and make something else instead, my friends all got wooden hanging decorations last year( I had a new pyrography pen ).
MoneyMission2015 - I love netflixwe keep trying to cut our sky package down, joined in the days you had to have everything to have disney and music channels. Dont need either now but sadly need satellite to get tv signal
freespirit66 Re - washing towels - we go to this lovely old fashioned towel shop on holiday, he only sources the best of the best the story takes hours and we hear it every time lol.... but he has said to give them a salt wash before first use, just dump them in salt water over night before washing in the washing machine, said it keeps them soft and helps them keep their colour
FeistyFidget Sorry to hear your news, I can only echo what Peppapig has said, I hope your next news is better x x xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -
Morning, just catching up.
Sorry to hear your news Fiesty, I hope things turn around for you both soon. X
I have also cancelled Sky last month. I have Freesat and Netflix. I only ever had the basic sky package and it was Mainly for the kids. But they find everything they want to watch on Netflix or CBBC now and are happy. I've decided to go back to the beginning and watch all of House MD, am loving it all over again.
We enjoyed out caravan holiday. We had perfect weather for the full week. Up to 26-28 degrees C during the day and dropped just nice at night. We had days at the beach, swimming and a full day at Landmark which is a adventure park with rides etc.
Back to panicking about christmas again. Someone posted on fb that it was 23 Friday's til Christmas, and I realised just how few pay days that is. I've been trying to save my coin jars and put some in a different account, but thjngs crop up and ive had to dip into my savings. Most of all the kids birthdays have passed. So I feel I can pick up things and think Christmas and not birthdays.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
good morning, Feisty, my heart goes out to you, you seem to have had your share and more of rotten luck, now this, try to keep your chin up. l hope the test results when you get them give good news, will be thinking of you and sending support and good wishes over the ether.
l have had a health shock, spent a night in CCU and am now diagnosed. lots of new meds to get used to and a big question mark over my flying to china in 10 days time! Honestly, my timing couldn't be better, could it?
l have searched the internet for insurance for the trip if l can still go, but no one wants to take me on, (cant think why, lol) and l daren't think about not having insurance!
Not looking forward to skyping this morning as l will have to tell them that l may not be coming after all but can't tell them for definite until later in the week, (when they will be on holiday in shanghai.) l am so frustrated by it all l could spit teeth.
Anyway, next week is DS2s 40th birthday, need to get a card and present sorted out, maybe later this afternoon, .
coffee is calling, be good, xxx0 -
Oh no, that's definitely bad timing MrsI - hope you manage to get it sorted and get the go ahead for the trip. You've probably already done this but the British Heart Foundation have info about companies that specialise in travel insurance for people with heart problems - not sure if they'll have anything suitable (or affordable) but could be worth a look at their website if you haven't already. We had to have special insurance for DH when we used to go over and see friends in Greece but must admit haven't been long haul since before he was diagnosed. Hope the Skype isn't too upsetting for you all. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

Oh Mrs I, such bad timing. I am so sorry my lovely.
I second what peppa haso said, BHF have a wonderful list of specialist insurance companies - not all charge the earth!
Good luck with the Skype x2024 Challenges
