moneymisson florida is addictive isn't it just wish is wasn't so expensive during the school holidays. Have you been in aug before?

It is indeed addictive. So much in fact that just this weekend we have extended our stay next year & added a cruise on to it :j. We have been in August before, we went last year & it was very hot. We like it hot though so we usually cope ok and we're all pretty much the same in that we all like to do the same things so if one of us wants food, we are all usually ready for food, or if somebody wants a quiet day by the pool we are all happy to do that. Our next goal is to go there at Christmas. When we went for Halloween a few years ago, on the very last day we were there they had taken down all the Halloween stuff & started putting up the Christmas decorations. I was gutted we missed the switching on of the lights in Hollywood Studios by one day, because we flew home the day before :(. So yes, we are going to start pricing up Christmas for maybe 2 or 3 years time.

MrsInvisible/Freespirit - Exactly the same here! I like a bit of colour but found that if the colour was on the walls it felt dark, so I tend to keep walls white/neutral colours now and just have colour in the cushions, throws etc. Everything feels so much brighter.

Why did you have to tell me about the dotcomgiftshop sale?!! I logged on last night and ended up spending around £45. In fairness though I bought loads, I cant believe how good the sale is. Its not very often I find any bargains, usually when I spot a sale it's for something ridiculous like £20 down to £18, which is hardly worth it. I bought a beautiful jug which I have some ideas for now for one of my sisters and I also bought some other bits from there, which are going to make great presents for a few people that I already have in mind. Luckily I have a monthly amount which I stash away for Christmas, so I will use some of that to pay for what I've just bought and will make a note of the items so I don't forget about them.

Feisty - I don't know the details but I hope you are on the road to recovery soon.

  • my goodness i've not been on here for a while lol. life has been busy.. prom's, award ceremonies, gcse's (thank goodness thats over with for now) rushing my stepdad to hospital with appendicitis last thursday and he's still there.. Oh and i've taken up swimming at least 3 times a week for just me and taking the girls on a sunday. Add my lil business and normal mummy duties there isn't much spare time to do bits i like to do online lol. Think i need to shuffle my time about a bit more..

Best wishes to those who need them... not looked too far back so can't name you sorry.

Christmas wise umm not sure i've bought anything for a while. i've got the joys of buying school uniforms/chef whites/college clothes this year as they all seem to have grown lol.. or the uniforms have changed.. wish they wouldn't do that.. so christmas is on hold until those have been bought.

  • Hi All

A quick heads up to people who might be interested. I've had an early bird invite to the Next sale, which means that they must be having the general sale this weekend. I've had a look at the sale preview and some items have massive discounts on, which is really unlike Next. Normally it's not worth bothering but there are some items less than half price.

Just thought I'd let people know in case you're thinking of buying something from Next, try & hold out until the sale to see if it's reduced. Or have a look in the sale to see if there are any nice gifts you could put away for Christmas.

Evening everyone, i have just had a declutter of old jewellery, silver rings from when i was a teenager, and jewellery from over the years, old tat really! It was only DD1 was on about getting a new jewellery box that i remembered years ago i bought a jewellery storage holder from qvc you hang it up and it has tons of pockets and holders to stop it getting tarnished well it has always missed my decluttering binges because it takes up no room but now i have given it to DD1, i feel quite glad about it, especially when i found a pair of cuff links belonging to exH!! I have just seen some photos of DS being Man of Honour haha at his best friends wedding on saturday, he looked very handsome, he has been best friends with her since about 11 and she was determined for him to play a part in her wedding so made the name up for him, she is a lovely girl, and was determined to have a wedding of all her crazy ideas, and it was fab to see her go through with it all, and not just go with tradition.

FEISTY yes thankyou, just need one set of painkillers a day now, Good Luck with your blood tests tomorrow hope your liver is beginning to get better x

I've got some of those jewellery pouches. You just reminded me that I could do with another one. Qvc don't seem to sell them anymore. Any ideas if they're available elsewhere?

Been glued to amazon all day for prime deals. Ended up with more for me than Christmas gifts, though! Did order mum a kindle, though. :)

Normally I am a lurker on these boards after only discovering them last year.

My family think I am crazy starting my shopping Christmas shopping so early but I HATE shopping especially at holiday time. Last year everything was wrapped and in the attic before Halloween and I'm hoping for a repeat for this year. I have started patrolling the boards for offers but is it just me or there doesn't seem to be as many grabbits? That said I have a few presents got and ticked off my spreadsheet (yip I love my spreadsheets)

We are due 1st baby In 22 days and I think this is the first year I have really worried about money. I know my hubby will help me out once my pay is cut but I hate depending on him that way.

Anyway now i have said hello hopefully will be joining in a lot more

  • Good Morning everybody

Karrie1UK - hello, congratulations on the impending arrival. Not long to go now! Don't look on it as a bad thing relying on your husband for money, you are a family and are both doing your bit to help bring up your child.

I had a look at the Amazon Prime Day. I was very pleased to see the Fire Stick was on sale at £19 instead of the usual £35. Our daughters have one each for them to watch their own programmes and we have all been really impressed with them. We have a Netflix account which you can watch through the Fire stick. So now we have ordered one for ourselves too & will cancel some of our Sky TV subscription. Netflix works out cheaper than what we pay for Sky TV.

I had a little look at the Next sale but was very disappointed. Before the sale began I checked out the preview listings & there were lots of things I would have liked to buy that were reduced quite a lot. But when I logged on for my time slot, the things I wanted were no longer listed. So either they had all been bought or Next were being sneaky and never had any of the items in the sale to begin with. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter, because I remember when they had a sale a few months ago there were some bar stools I wanted for our breakfast bar that were £85 each but in the sale were supposed to be £40. So I logged on as early as I could, tried ordering 4 & it said they were sold out. But Next are still selling them in the catalogue now at full price! To be honest, I've gone off Next quite a bit lately. They still do some lovely things, but they are very overpriced so I don't shop there as much as I used to.

We are going away for the weekend tomorrow. I am really looking forward to it & I think we could all do with the break! Our daughters are very tired at the moment because it's end of term and I have a feeling they will be having a nice long sleep this weekend. Luckily it is a family holiday home, so it's just like a home from home, so they can sleep in on Saturday and I can have a quiet morning checking out some of the sales online to see if there are any other things I can get for Christmas.
