Hello everyone:hello: I haven't been on here since the end of May:eek: And only getting to this thread now.

Sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up yet, so for now I'll send commiserations, condolences, congratulations, birthday wishes, hugs and cuddles and positive thoughts for now until I catch up.

Hope everyone is keeping well. Any Christmas prep going on??
I've been picking a few bits and pieces up in the sales for Christmas, and or Florida holiday next year.

Only thing I'm missing is raincoats. I was hoping to get the adults some from Primark and give to them at Christmas, but at £10 each I couldn't afford to get them at the time. Went in today as I had the money together, only to find they went on sale for £5 yesterday and they were all gone _pale_:mad::( I really could have cried as hey were the only thing I wanted and needed for Christmas for them. I did manage to pick up 2 Batman coats that were needed, but was needing 2 Hogwarts and 1 Olaf coat too:(
This is why Primark need to open an online shop:mad:

Anyhow, now that I'm gutted about that I came out of the town in such a bad mood I took it out on the small room and dumped a load of rubbish lol. We're going away for a week's holiday to OH's parents caravan next week so it'll break up the summer a bit, Then me and him are off to Rome in August :T got it for my birthday in June so looking forward to that.
I'm off now to check out my old haunts on here:o and update my signature and see what else can put my mood down today.

Seen on FB that the ticket for Hyde park Winter Wonderland are on sale now.

Thank you for this. I have been trying to think of lots of fun Christmassy things to do on the run up to Christmas with the family, so saw your post and have now booked tickets for the ice skating and the magic ice kingdom. I have provisionally booked a hotel for 2 nights for the weekend that I have booked, but this could change to just 1 night depending on other plans. Ooooh, I'm excited now. Is it November yet??

I was going to keep it a secret but I think I will have to let OH know so that he doesn't arrange anything himself.

Evening everyone, i dont know who is or isnt on Twitter but yesterday Matalan were having a christmas in july planning event and were showing some piccies, ooh they had some lovely things but what really caught my eye were the wine glasses they are gorgeous, all painted up as santas, snowmen etc they were so cheery they would love lovely on the christmas table.

PENNYDROPPED yep we used to have big family get togethers as well but then there were deaths, feuds, divorces, moving far away and now nobody bothers, even my sisters cant be bothered the last couple of years and its made me think well b***s to them which i know is wrong but i shouldnt have to make all the effort, and now i have DGS its just made my close family closer than ever, so i suppose a new chain of family is beginning (pity its me that is the oldest though) :D

SPRINGDREAMS nice to see you :) oh your nephews will love their shiny new bikes, what a fab bargain :) I used to make the cards part of the deccies but now its not worth it they hardly stand out there is so few of them

QUIDSY thankyou for the wonderland tip, hope you are well

IRISHROSE oh i would have been gutted as well, and in a bad mood for the rest of the day too if i had set my heart on them, i do miss out on a lot because i dont go into town very often, you are right more places need to do online shopping :D

MONEYMISSION ooh how exciting to have something planned and booked for the run up to christmas :D

pennydropped I do think that less and less people make the effort anymore which is a huge shame but I guess a sign of modern life as families live miles apart, travel is so expensive and time & money are short. The internet makes it easier to keep in touch but its not the same and I do sometimes feel bad for the kids that they're missing out on the social aspect of friends/family everyone getting together and celebrating. We had regular get togethers growing up yet its been years since I've seen some people in person.

springdreams great deal on the bikes I'm sure they'll love them. It is hard when the kids decide they prefer money as it just seems so meh as a gift.I get them lots of bits to wrap so they have something to open on the day but gifts for teen boys esp are hard to find. I do tend to get a few practical ones like smellies, socks ect as its stuff I'd have to buy all year anyway even if it not the most exciting gift.

Irishrose primark is so frustrating they do get some great stuff in but its so hit & miss my local one for some reason insists on stocking huge amounts in size 6 that never sell yet have nothing available in other sizes. Like the other day they had a whole rail of new tops in and every single on was a size 6.the next nearest one is miles away though they tend to have a better choice its not practical to go often so I def think they need an online shop though no doubt that wouldn't be so great on the pocket. Hows the florida planning going?

freespirit ohh will have to have a look thanks. Its hard when your the only one making an effort I only really bother with immediate family now as I'm not going to waste money on people who can't even be bothered to say thanks or I only hear from when they want something  Dgs is a new chapter and time & money is better spent creating magical memories

taking the kids to the cinema followed by pizza at the weekend thanks to the nectar offer lovely treat and even better for being "free" :D
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

I don't do twitter so haven't seen anything, but do you think the glasses could be used for individual desserts?

Oh I was, (and still am):o fuming at myself
I'm the same as you, I'm not in often enough, and not early enough. Apparently it can be mad 1st thing on a Tuesday morning down there with sales, and new stock being put out. As much as I am annoyed, I've more important things to do than be in the town everyday like some others do. They get their kids off to school and are straight in, and these are people who claim to have no money:mad:

Same here, size 6 and size 8. A size 6 would barley cover my leg!! I'm a size 18 (trying to reduce that) but in Primark I have to buy 20-22 to get stuff to fit me, which then depresses me even more:( My neighbour is a size 12, but sometimes has to get 16's to fit her! The size 6's must be for flat chested stick insects or teenagers with no chest:eek:
But you are right, an online shop with them would not be good for my debt busting ideas on that credit card :rotfl:

Florida plans have come to a standstill. We're going down the DIY route as it was working out cheaper, and we can stay a few extra days then:) But flights aren't released until this time next month (yes we have a countdown:D) and then we can book flights there and back with another airline, and also the accommodation.
Our problem was the accommodation we were looking at was struck by lightening at the weekend and went on fire:eek: so we had to go back to the drawing board there:rotfl:

We've got the photo package bought for Universal Studios, bought those before the price went up on Tuesday so we saved $60 there. And it's handy because there are 2 families of us going we splint the cost and are sharing it:D
Park tickets have been booked, and we are paying those off each month (Thank God for Deposits and installments!!!)
And we've been picking a few things up to take with us while we see them. Fan's that you fill with water, suitcase locks, US plugs, raincoats for the kids etc.

So basically we are getting our photos taken at the parks, we will be cool and dry with electric, but we've no tickets as of yet for the parks and we've no way of getting there or anywhere to stay yet:rotfl:

Oh blimey DD2s ongoing saga, they called an emergency number who came out and said there was a small leak in an old pipe leading to the fireplace (since moving in they havent touched the fireplace, and there is no gas fire it is just the fireplace) he wasnt allowed to fix only diagnose so they had to have gas turned off, they called the person who fitted their boiler and he came out and said yes it was there and supposedly fixed it, but tonight they could smell it again, so emergency people came out again and the previous bloke hadnt capped it off  and whatever they measure in the air was 90% and he said he wouldnt have been happy leaving a property with 5%:mad::mad: and said it was a schoolboy error that the bloke hadnt done a proper job. Im so mad especially with Thumper being there, they have gone straight out and bought carbon monoxide alarms.

This literally made my blood boil! I am so glad everyone is okay, but the consequences this stupid mistake could have had don't bear thinking about! I sincerely hope that DD and DSIL follow through with escalating the complaint.

Sorry I've been AWOL lovelies, move 1 of 2 complete and we are officially back home with DH parents. It's only temporary until our house is ready, but it feels odd having to check everyones movements to do simple things like showers of baths. I am so thankful that we've been taken in (and my mummy in law is spoiling us both rotten with home cooked meals and loveliness!) but I think everyone will be glad to get there own space again.

Our first home finally sold and completed Monday just gone, so it wa sad to see it go, but we've also had a lot of bad things happen to us there, so I hope it is on to brighter beginnings :)

Christmas is currently on hold for us as I have no idea where the Christmas planner book is (DH boxed it when moving) BUT I did come across a box of surplus and recycled gifts that I can add to the list of purchased gifts when we move!

:bdaycake:HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANAMIA :bdaycake: if you are still reading x

Evening everyone, im being so lazy this last two weeks, sitting on my bottom watching wimbledon but hey ho its nearly finished :D

MANDCO yes i was a bit upset that one set of my nieces and nephews couldnt be bothered to say thankyou last christmas, i have to really save for their presents of money seen as there is 4 of them they are all old enough to know to say thankyou, i went to the trouble of making jars full of sweets with the money hidden in the middle, and because their mum (my sister) was too busy to meet up, i had to take them all apart and post just the money which upset me anyway but then not to even acknowledge them :mad::mad: but like you say a new chapter with Thumper :D

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY if you mean like a mousse etc then i would have thought so??? They would look lovely served up with dessert in them i think

IRISHROSE oh blimey i wonder if our local one is like that on a tuesday morning, madness!!! Im so sorry to hear about your accommodation in Florida burning down, i hope you find somewhere just as nice and the same price. We did the same thing bought all the tickets before we got out there for the theme parks etc it was so much easier and knowing you have them helps a lot when saving for spending money

FEISTY i must ask DD2 and OH actually what happened. Glad you are finally sold up and on the move, i hope it will be fairly quick and straightforward now for you both. Glad you are both being spoiled :) are you fully recovered now?

IRISHROSE omg how exciting haha we must be mad :D

Sadly not, I am still on daily injections to stop my blood clotting and I have another blood test Wednesday to see if my liver is starting to recover from the damage.
