IrishRose so glad to hear your kits are selling well, good luck with the target i'm sue you'll smash it.
freespirit i'm planning to go to B&M soon so will take a look, thanks. Although every year I say i'm going to make some homemade fudge and never get around to it! Ah bless little Thumper, it's hard seeing them ill. And those days when they are not happy with anything are very long and hard! I do hope he gets better soon. I'm glad to hear your M&S account has been approved, that will really help come Christmas time. Wow to your DD going to Antarctica, I don't like getting too cold but I have to admit I like the sound of that holiday!
Opee that story still makes me smile now.
Nic so glad to hear you're still enjoying some time just for you, it is really important. Well done on passing the first stage!
Pixtotts you do sound busy! Just try to relax and take your time over the place cards and try to be positive, i'm sure you're great at it otherwise your friend wouldn't have trusted you with it. I bet they will look lovely.
Lucylema hello and welcome! Having a small family must make it easier to get organised at Christmas! I don't do a lot of crafts as I don't have a lot of time, I do some cross stitching when I get some spare time. Lots of people on here do some wonderful crafts though.0 -
Feisty I'm wishing you all the luck in the world, my goodness you deserve it more than most. I will be crossing everything and sending lots of positive vibes, let's hope this is the time for you. xxx0

I have no idea why but I've been feeling really Christmassy lately. I don't know where this feeling has come from, but it's making me want to watch Christmas films and do Christmassy things!
I went to Westfield the other day with a friend of mine that had her last cancer treatment on that day, she treated herself to a lovely piece of jewellery from Tiffany's to mark the occasion. She has finally come out the other side and i'm so pleased for her, I just pray it never returns. It really puts things in perspective and I told myself to relax a little bit, it's really isn't worth sweating the small stuff!0 -
Good Morning!
I have just discovered this thread and have only read a couple of pages. I will sit down with a brew over the weekend and read the lot. I don't have a large family and we don't buy for friends as money is quite tight so christmas isn't overly expensive for me. I actually plan on taking advantage of the festive season and will be aiming to make the money rather than spend it. For the last couple of years I have been making snowman soups which have been quite successful. I am looking to do this again xmas 2015. I am interested to know if others do christmas crafting?
better go anyway as its time to get ready for work - joy!
Wellcome Lucylema. This is a great thread. Been going a few years now. It's great seeing everyone talkign about christmas all through the year, but it all gets really exciting around October when we all get the planning into full swing.
There is a few of us craft to sell. A few of us are on fb. I paint christmas signs and find myself doing them all round the year lol. Do like to see what everyone has been making x:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Evening everyone, well i am glad today is over, im flipping fed up of it why it had to start 100 days ago i dont know, ive actually heard people say they are so fed up with it they arent even going to vote!!!! I have never seen our Polling Station as busy as it was tonight so hoping that there has been a big turnout nationally.
PIXTOTTS wow honey im out of breath just reading your post, :rotfl: you will be fine, just take a deep breath and dont even think how many spare you have, just concentrate on each part of the name at a time, make sure you have a relaxing time on your weekend awayOh why arent you on our birthday list??? :bdaycake: Happy Birthday for Monday, do you want 3FORHOLIDAYS to put you on?
LUCYLEMA hello and welcome to our thread, its very quiet at the moment, but we talk christmas all year round

PRINCESSKITTY do you know you arent the first person to have said they would love to go to Antarctica since DD1 decided to go haha. So glad your friend has got through her cancer treatment, she should treat herself after that. Yes it does make us step back and be grateful for what we have doesnt it?? Haha love that you have the christmassy feeling#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
Oh yes it will be good when the election is over! I just get fed up of their bickering. Regardless of who I voted for I would like one party to win the majority rather than having a coalition again. One thing I try to remember is how lucky we are to be able vote when so many countries don't have a choice. Let's see how it goes today! We found out yesterday that one of our friends was running for MP in his area, I don't know how he does it as he's a barrister in London with a long commute as well as a councillor and he has two young children at home - I don't know how he fits it all in!
Anyway enough of that! I think i'm gong to have a quiet day at home today, Wiggle woke me up at 12:10am and I couldn't get back to sleep until about 2:30, then up for the day at 5 so feeling a bit tired. Will try and get some bits and bobs done around the house. Plus it's looking a bit miserable outside!0 -
Evening everyone, what a day for the results, i must admit i really thought it would be a different result than it was, and yes PRINCESSKITTY i agree with you about everyone should vote, i dont really understand why they dont, but its their choice. I ordered 3 christmas dvds today from amazon, i have had £10 from surveys in my amazon account for a couple of weeks and today i was just itching to buy something off my wish list
so i ended up ordering them, they have been on my wish list for ages, they will be here in the morning seen as DS has amazon prime, he can name up to 3 or 4 people and they get the same benefits he does without spending the money
PRINCESSKITTY how did your friend do? I hope you got a nap in today or at least had a very lazy day, i would be dead for a week#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
I've always cast my vote in elections ever since I have been eligible to do so. But I did make an observation during the election campaign: why were the party leaders visiting nurseries & schools? Toddlers and young children can't vote! Trying to avoid the difficult questions, I think...
Bed time for me ... Bye for now
ETA - Pixtotts I am happy to add you to the birthday list, just let me know. Belated birthday wishes and hope you have a great weekend.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Freespirit, hopeyour little man is feeling much better now. Blood pressure (you know what I mean)
Nic, nice to seeyou back.
Pixtotts hope youhave a lovely weekend in Cheltenham
Welcome to the thread Lucylema,it’s a bit quiet on here at the moment but it’ll ramp up as we get further onin the year. Quite a lot of people onhere do crafting for Christmas (and other times of course). Not me though, I make lots of plans to do itand never quite seem to get around to it.
Feisty, hope thesymptoms wear off soon and that you’ll have some good news before too long.
Nothing festive here at the moment as a bit tied up with newbabies (latest DGS arrived this week and went to see him yesterday) andbirthdays but all good things so quite happy about it.
I’m totally glad the election is over. I usually vote and I did this time but nowthe results are in I’m over it. I didthink today that I’m glad I don’t live in Peterborough though – the candidatewho won there was so horrible and gloating about his victory I wanted to punchhis stupid face in. I’m actually not aviolent person but he was just so obnoxious. I think it’s so much cooler to be gracious whether you win or lose. If I’d voted for him I’d be gutted to see howhe behaved.
Sorry if the print on this is a bit strange - I typed it up in a word document first to make sure I didn't miss anyone and it hasn't copied over very well!
Still haven't clicked to see the new layout - I'm hanging onto the old one for as long as I can lol.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
freespirit oooh what Christmas dvds did you get?? You do really well with your surveys. I used to do them all the time but I hardly ever have time now so my balances are quite low! No nap yesterday but I did drink lots of tea and did some sitting on the sofa.
Our friend didn't win but it was to be expected, his area has always been one particular party and it doesn't look set to change any time soon.
Peppapig CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW DGS!!! How lovely for you. How much did he weigh? I bet he's cute as a button! I haven't got the new layout either - I'm sure they'll force us at some point!
pixtotts I hope you enjoy Cheltenham. I'm originally from up that way (Stroud) and have family living in Cheltenham. It's a nice town so I hope you relax and enjoy your time there.
I'm just sitting in bed with a cup of tea whilst DH is downstairs giving Wiggle breakfast. I've got to get up soon though as we're having some friends visit us today with their two children which will be lovely but probably a bit hectic! I need to get some brownies on the go for pudding to go with some ice cream. I made a chilli yesterday, so going to serve it with rice, jacket potatoes, tortilla chips topped with sour cream and guacamole and some salad.
Needless to say my new years resolution to cook one recipe a week from my cookbooks has fallen by the wayside! To be honest though I love cooking but I've become a bit disillusioned with all of my cookbooks. I'm starting to feel like my house is very cluttered and I want to get rid of lots of stuff, as well as my cookbooks I have folders stuffed full of recipes from my Good Food magazines. I'm starting to think I should have a good clear out, at least with my recipe folders they're all recipes that I like and want to make, that's not always the case with all of the recipes in my cook books. I can't believe i'm saying this as they were my pride and joy but I really feel the need to simplify my life a bit. I think I need to start this Kon Marie method everyone is talking about! You're doing it aren't you freespirit?0
