3forholidays I'd love to be added to the birthday list please
Thankyou for the birthday wishesI had a brilliant weekend in Cheltenham, it was really nice, we didn't exactly do much, just explored and relaxed
I am really frustrated with the place cardspretty much done no spares left and I smudge one of the last ones
have tried to cover the smudge with white paint marker fingers crossed it will hide it so I don't need to start over *fingers crossed* going to try and forget about it until the morning now.
Freespirit - I LOVE the owl!!
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -
freespirit love the cake!! It looks fabulous. I can't believe you have twins, just having one always makes me ask how anyone copes with twins?! I'd love to go trampolining, where did they go? I'm quite similar to you, I often go to the internet for recipes now rather than my books, there are a few I like and will keep but i'm sure I could get rid of more. You've made me think that I need to Kondo my baking cupboard! I love the sound of 'Really Big Useful Boxes'! I think I need to get the book.
whitesatin I love the idea of table presents, my MiL did it the other year and it was fun so I think i'll do it next time I host. Beers would be a great gift, there are loads of local craft beers out there now and as freespirit said there are a lot of Christmassy ones nearer the time.
Peppapig it's so lovely to hear how much you are enjoying your bike and it sounds lovely where you are going. I like the idea of riding a bike but don't want to ride it on the roads, it sounds like you've found some good places to go.
pixtotts glad you had a lovely birthday and that you enjoyed Cheltenham. I hope it refreshed you a little bit. I've got my fingers crossed for you for the place cards, i'm sure it will be ok and I bet you've done a fantastic job.
I went to Virginia Waters again yesterday with some NCT friends, what a lovely day! It was so sunny and warm, I can't believe it's going to be miserable today! I'm a bit worried about today as DH is going out with the car and the raincover for our buggy hasn't arrived yet. Wiggle has gone a bit funny with his naps recently and has meltdowns when we put him in his cot, so we've been taking him out at times when he's really bad but if the rain is too bad today I will be housebound! I guess if he does get hysterical he will wear himself out at some point! Lots of cuddles in store today I expect. I also like taking him out at least once for a change of scenery and some fresh air. I'm going to try and get a beef stew done for us all to eat tonight and also some washing and ironing, we shall see!
We watched the finale to Safe House last night and initially we were a bit frustrated at the end until we read that there might be a second series. I like Christopher Ecclestone as an actor so hopefully there'll be more!
Anyway I must get on, I hope you all have a good day. x0 -
Freespirit66 I love the cake.....it looks very yummy :-)
Whitesatin I'm having the same trouble at the minute....trying to find table gifts for my FIL, MIL, nephew, hubby and my 2 kids. Silly question but does anyone ever buy a table gift for themselves? My little girl got quite upset last year that mummy didn't get a stocking from Santa but everyone else did......so I don't really want that drama again this year :rotfl: But at the same time I don't want to look sad buying something for myself!
Sorting my Christmas present cupboard (slowly turning into a present ROOM) today....by my estimations I'm about 3/4 of the way done. We were supposed to be going to Hull shopping yesterday for my birthday, I was also hoping to pick up a few more presents for the kids as it was also payday for my OH, but unfortunately our car has decided to lock us out and we can't get in......neither the central locking system or physically putting the key in the lock will work.....we've been quoted £230 to get it back on the road, but given that the MOT is due next month as well (and we've never had an MOT cost us less than £300) it looks like our trusty Peugeot may be destined for the scrapyardwe can't be without a car though so it looks like it'll have to go on OH's credit card for now.....more expense we just cannot do with at the moment!

Morning all
Hope everyone is well
In Christmas news I've just started adding wish upon a star by trisha Ashley. I love her books.
Re table pressies, we have the same family round for Christmas and New Years dinners and I do table pressies, the last couple of years we've done the Christmas table pressies that I've bought then we put all the name place cards in the champagne bucket ( the party poppers etc are stored in it during dinner) then everyone secretly picks a name - if you draw your own you drop it back In and redraw. Then you are responsible for buying that persons new year table pressie. We set a budget of about £3 As its sale time you can get some bargains.
Saw it posted on another thread that Amazon have the dinosaur that pooped a planet and the singing mermaid box sets ( book with toy) for £2 each on super saver delivery. I've ordered them for DD2s fellas children and for the christingle pressies.SPC~12 ot 124

Opee92, my daughter usually buys me a table present (always something she knows I would love) so that I get something too. Last year she hosted but as she is so busy, she gave me a budget and I bought the table presents. With M&S 3 for 2 etc., I managed to buy some good stuff, e.g. sets of see through toilet/make up bags which everyone loved). She bought me a bottle of Miss Dior perfume so I think I did well, lol.
Up until now we haven't really included the children but I think I might do that this year. They get lots of "Santa" presents at my house which, up until now, I have been able to get away with saying that he dropped off some he had left over. But we shall see what happens this year. Once they go to school, they start to ask more questions. Yes, I like the idea of table presents for the children so need to get thinking now.
Good luck with the car situation by the way!0 -

That sounds like fun, mrs-moneypenny. We don't tend to get together as a family for New Year as some tend to travel to see other relatives.0 -

Evening everyone, nice to see it a bit busier on here today
its been miserable and grey here today and flipping cold, a bit like my mood when i woke up this morning
plus i had no coffee to warm myself up with, made hot chocolate but just didnt hit the spot today! Anyway feel much chirpier this evening
Think it was end of the month no money blues, even though i managed to find enough for a footmuff for DGS pushchair that i keep here :rotfl::rotfl:it was reduced and had free postage and was the right colour!! All i fancied doing today was surfing the internet (i did carry on with mount washmore too:o) i have favourited a couple of stocking fillers i will get after the kids have paid their rent that i found. DD2 has decided she wants to come here at christmas with her OH (he doesnt know this yet
) and DGS so it looks as if i am hosting this year, so i will be looking for table pressies too, only something small, and a scratchcard, the personalised coke bottles were a bit hit last year!
MRSMONEYPENNY oh i love your table pressie idea for New Year, we always get together at ours for a big roast, i might ask if they want to do that this year. I really fancy reading a christmas book too but am trying to hold off haha. How is DGS and DD2 getting on? Are you still having lots of cuddles?
PIXTOTTS glad you had a lovely weekend away, i hope you had a great time getting away from everything, im sure the place card will be fine, isnt it typical always the last few!!
PRINCESSKITTY haha a lot of people ask me how on earth did i do it with two when they only have one, even my DD2 says mum how the heck did you do it?? I also had my eldest who was only 6 weeks past her 2nd birthday :eek: but you just get on with itThey went to a place called Gravity Force in Camberley (google it) actually it is on the A30 the same road as Virginia Waters. It does look terrific fun as i said they said there were far older people there!! Really Useful Boxes are another weakness of mine :rotfl::rotfl:Ooh i never thought of a raincover that is something i will have to get for the buggy. Yes, Thumper is a monkey with his naps atm most are only 20 to 30 mins at a time and no more falling asleep with the bottle haha. I am glad i am not the only one then who was a bit disappointed by the last episode of Safe House
OPEE :bdaycake: Happy Birthday for yesterday, do you want to go on our birthday list? Oh how frustrating about the car, that is a lot of money isnt it?? Although we wouldnt be without them they really are an expensive pain when they go wrong. And yes if i buy table pressies i will also buy myself one :rotfl:
