  • Afternoon all! So tired that I cannot move. Had been asked to help at a Caribbean evening which was last night. What all of those forget is the amount of additional time involved for a few hours fun & entertainment. I was up yesterday at 6:45, stripped bed ,did a little housework, was in WH Smith For 8;30 to get the Lego, home again to quickly make a birthday cake, empty washing machine, make bed and get to venue for 12. I had to sit down about 10:30 as I physically could stand any longer, other than driving, that was the first time I had sat down. I left atn hour later, but did another 5 hours today trying to put everything back where it should be. Bless them, those who were helping were doing their best, but common sense was very scarce!

The worst part of the day was some of those attending, it was an all ticket event, with meal starting at 7:30, but they arrived at 5, to make sure they got a seat, do they not realise that you don't arrive 2 1/2 hours early for a table booked at a restaurant, so why do it in a hall. Otherwise think it all went ok, although as I said, I am so tired. Just eaten for first time since Friday so hopefully I will start to feel better.

Not doing much Christmas wise, will wait until I get back from holiday.
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Wow GTQ, I'm exhausted now I've read your post. If I was wearing a hat I'd take it off to you! Hope you get to have a peaceful evening now and an early night.

Newthrift, glad the wedding plans are going well - bet you can't wait for the big day.

3forholidays, hope the wins start rolling your way soon.

PrincessKitty, I love Christmas films but have never actually watched that one. Unfortunately James Stewart makes me want to punch the screen so I've never been able to risk it lol.

Spoke to DD today and the two little DGSs were playing in the garden. Big DGS (aged 3) came on the phone and told me he was helping little DGS (aged 1) with his trolley because he kept getting stuck. When DD came back on she said that littlest kept pushing one of the toy trolleys down the step towards the back gate and each time he did biggest rushed over and 'helped' him by putting it back up the step again. Only thing was that she was pretty sure littlest was doing it over and over again because he was actually trying to get to the gate lol.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

hiya, weathers been rather damp here today so hot chocolate and marshmellows to all lol

I grabbed some xmas onesies, reindeer slippers and hats on tescos kids sale today.. spent a whole £5 lol but now all the kids xmas pj's have been bought and they each have apair of slippers for xmas too yay.

dd2 is in full exam mode. just another 15 to go.. thank goodness its half term next week. dd1 has just one 5 hour exam to go on thursday and shes nearly done too. dd3 has just taken her options (seems too young still shes only i year 8 but its the schools new policy to not waste another year on lessons that won't benefit them)

We went out and saw stewart francis last thursday... so wasn't my cup of tea but went cause dh wanted too but it was very disappointing and a number of people walked out... never seen people actually walk out before but he hit the no go line on a number of occasions. Saturday night we went and saw reginald d hunter which was way better.. he was meant to finish at 9:30 but was still nattering at 10:15 the way he involved the audiance was just like we were all sat in a bar chatting.

Need to find some more nights out to look forward too, just to balance the blahs this year is throwing at us..

Nearly June then xmas in july can hit off proper preparation lol

Opee92 I'm a little confused now as I thought that you said that your birthday was on the bank holiday weekend?
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Ooh Mrs G I love Reginald D Hunter - I want to laugh the minute he starts talking, I just love his voice. Well done with the Christmas PJs and slippers too.

Whenever your birthday was Opee, happy belated birthday lol.

Mrs I, hoping things are ok and DD is keeping her head above water.
