newthrift I've been thinking about you lately, glad everything is coming together and you have a little more time to think now!
gettingtherequickly blimey you've been so busy! What was the Caribbean evening for? I hope you've got a bit of time to rest now and put your feet up.
Peppapig I quite liked James Stewart! But then I had never heard of him before watching it so maybe I haven't had a chance to find him irritating!
msgigglewick good job on the pjs and slippers! I hope DD's exams go well. It's such a shame when you go and see someone and they're really disappointing, I had a similar experience with Ricky Gervais once.
mrsinvisible your poor DD. Life can be so cruel sometimes, i'm sure she doesn't need all of this hassle on top of everything else. Sometimes I wonder why anything to do with benefits is so blooming difficult? What is so wrong with the system that it causes people no end of trouble and why can't they sort it out?? I do hope the journey goes well for you and it doesn't seem as long as it is. Sending lots of hugs. x
Starlet1990 you and your poor family, it must be such a hard situation for you. I hope your grandad can find some peace where he's living now. Congratulations on passing your driving test! That's a great achievement! Hopefully the nerves will lessen the more you drive.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY OMO AND DISABLEDNCISFAN! _party_
Honestly freespirit if it weren't for you i'd miss everyone's birthdays! I do on rare occasions remember to look but it's never anyone's birthday when I do! One of these days....0 -
It was DH's birthday yesterday so I spent Monday making him a birthday cake:
He's a golf nut so thought it was appropriate, although it doesn't look as good as the one I found online!
We had a quiet day yesterday with the in laws down as DH has a really bad cold which was a shame for his birthday, although he is going to the golf tournament at Wentworth on Friday so hopefully he'll be better to enjoy that. One thing that did cheer his up is I put two scratchcards in his cards from me and Wiggle, and between them he won £30! That's unheard of, it's usually only £1 or £2. Not that i'm complaining, it's always nice to win something whatever the amount! The in laws stayed at a b&b in town as DH has been sleeping in the spare room as he's been coughing and blowing his nose all night, so we're going to go and meet them for a cup of tea this morning. Looks like a nice day at the moment. I'm also meeting another mum this afternoon that I met recently at a baby group, I need to make an effort to meet some more people as most of my NCT friends will be back at work come July so I won't see them very often and I don't want to risk getting isolated. Well I better get up, I can hear DH struggling to keep Wiggle entertained downstairs! I just hope we don't get his nasty cold.0 -

Freespirit Great to read that you finally booked that Doctors appointment!
I'd better get on with the competitions for today...A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Evening. That's me just noticed the note saying there was a new layout. I've clicked it and not sure I like it. I've been on MSE since 2004. Forgot my login so re registered in 2008. But I've always found it easy to use. Hope I can still manage it.
We have all agreed to come to ours again for Christmas dinner. We have the room and the table etc. last year there was 15 of us. It went well, so looking forward to it.
Nothing much else happening. Considering looking for a cheaper house. This one is turning out very expensive to run. I love the space. It's a huge house and a huge garden. But the heating and council tax are crippling on top of the rent. Would be sad to even think of moving, but needs must. There's not many 3 beds in this area to rent though :-(:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
I've won...a £5 discount voucher for a posh pet food website (runner up prize). There is nothing on the website for £5 & any orders under £15 attract a £2.50 delivery charge. I'll not bother claiming it and just donate food to the local food bank next time I see a collection.
Och well ... Better luck next time. I only entered the competition for the main prize which I would have to give away/donate as I don't have a dog.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Sorry 3 but this really made me laugh :rotfl:
Starlett - welcome back and congrats on passing your driving test. Don't worry, confidence will come - at least you wont be one of those over-confident new drivers who drive faster than they can think.Sorry to hear about your granddad.
Freespirit - well done!!! Now make sure you keep it lol. I will be checking x
Princess Kitty, that cake is fab. Good idea to broaden your group of friends - I'm always saying that to DD because it's so much nicer if you've got friends in the same position as you. I think it's probably just me that doesn't like James Stewart - no logical reason I just don't like him lol.
Feisty, hope your silence means you're busy in a good way and nothing else.
Nothing festive happening here but had a lovely day with DGS and going down to visit newest arrival again tomorrow (as long as DH is ok of course). It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0
