I have now started getting my table presents in readiness for Christmas when I am hosting it. I like to spread the cost/effort so am always on the lookout. A couple of weeks ago, I bought, from QVC, little sets of mini L'Occitane hand cream. I have put them away as I understand that they keep if unopened. I usually find it easy to find something for the women but the men are more difficult as, after all the years I have done this, I have exhausted all possibilities. There will be my husband, my son and my son in law to buy for so will be on the look out. I know that my son in law likes Liz Earle products for men so might look into that for him and my son. My husband never uses any products except soap and water. It used to be so easy in the days before Spotify as I could usually find a good cd for him to enjoy.

I know it all sounds like First World Problems but it is important to me to get it all right.

Could you do miniatures of whisky, brandy or similar Whitesatin? Not sure if my sis or one of the DDs will be hosting this year or if we'll be eating out but pretty sure it won't be me because I did it last year. :D

Freespirit, I'm sure DD2 won't mind a slightly wonky owl - it's probably not even remotely wonky and you're just being hard on yourself.

Been out for another lovely bike ride today - must get a milometer so I know how far we've been (not far but it's still nice to know). We don't cycle fast or wear lycra, just a gentle peddle around either the local lake or, as we did this afternoon, a nearby forest centre which has lovely cycle and walking paths. I am so in love with my splendid bike :j
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Peppapig, that would certainly work well for my son, who loves a good quality spirit. Thanks for the idea, I will look out for something suitable. My son in law and my husband only really drink beer but maybe I could get an interesting one for them to try.

Keep up the cycling, sounds like fun. I stick to walking for my exercise but arthritis is slowly, but surely, limiting my ability to do even that, sadly.

Evening everyone, DD2 loved her cake and presents, we did it today as they are having a family day out to Monkey World tomorrow, she made DS cake so we have his tomorrow and a special dinner which he is still as yet to choose (MEN??) they had a great time trampolining and came home absolutely shattered and the funny thing is they were the youngest there???

WHITESATIN there is nothing wrong in wanting to get it right, and men are so so hard to buy for, there are a lot of special beers out at christmas time if you have a look in the supermarkets

PEPPAPIG aww thankyou she did love it, your bike rides sound wonderful, the last time i rode a bike was about 13 years ago and we went into the forest at the end of our road and got told off apparently bikes are not allowed to be ridden over there only horses :D i never went out again!! I am so glad your bike is making you so happy :)

All going well, we will have two little ones for whom it will be their first Christmas. My grandson, who was born in January and (please God), my daughter will have her third child, due in early December.

I know they will be oblivious but, apart from taking photos and videos, any ideas of how I can make it special, more for the parents really, I suppose, but something to look back on.

I am reasonably crafty but not too much, lol.

Congratulations on your new DGS Peppapig x

I'm also trying to declutter a bit. So fed up never seem to have a tidy house as there is too much in it.

I love that owl and the colours Freespirit! It almost looks knitted - have you been taking lessons down at the Shreddies factory?
