Peppapig Congratulations on your new DGS!

I'm another one that hasn't moved to the new layout as yet. I've had a look but don't like it.

I've been clearing out recently inspired by the Kon Marie method. I cleared out some t-shirts that were a bit big on me. :) Lots more could go though!

I think the Kon Marie method seems intriguing, I'm still scared to start packing/de-cluttering for the move incase it jinxes it lol

Thanks everyone for the well wishes, sadly the symptoms have worsened lol

Evening everyone, its been a nice day today warm but breezy, went to HB but didnt have time/money to mooch unfortunately :( popped into DD2s for a cuddle with Thumper and a coffee, then Sainsburys to get ingredients to make DD2s birthday cake, the roads were really busy everywhere today but the shops were quite empty it was lovely!

3FORHOLIDAYS haha yes i agree the same as the obligatory photo holding a baby??????

PEPPAPIG aww congratulations on your newest DGS, hope mummy and baby are doing well! Thumper is feeling a lot better thankyou, although rash is now on his arms and legs as well. I will get there just keep nagging :o, yes i agree, being gracious goes a long long way, being arrogant and obnoxious doesnt! I have finally started getting used to the layout now, although i still find some things a faff, but overall i can find my way around it now

PRINCESSKITTY only 2 out of the 3 arrived which is a bit naughty, i got How About You with Brenda Fricker, Imelda Staunton, Vanessa Redgrave in it and Christmas Snow the one that didnt arrive yet is The Christmas Choir, dont know what they are like but they were cheap!! I have slacked off the surveys lately because i have been so lazy and having nearly everything bought for christmas i dont have the sense of urgency i did last year but yes i dont do too bad. Oh shame for your friend but it is hard to get a look in when its a one party area. Ooh we had chilli and jackets with sour cream and cheese tonight too, i am craving brownies now :rotfl:I have been thinking that about my cookery books, they dont get the proper use they should because it is so easy to look up on the internet for a recipe (doesnt stop me buying them though ) and snap on the Good Food ripped out pages i have stacks! Yes i have done some kondoing i love the 'does it bring you joy' mantra its so easy to say yes or no! I took 3 bags to the CS today by asking myself that question on each item :)

Oh feisty sorry to hear your symptoms have worsened, just hang in there. I'm hoping everyday that things improve for you and that you get what you desire in the end. I know how you feel, before we moved into our house I didn't pack for ages because I didn't want to jinx it! It was all fine in the end though. x

freespirit I haven't heard of those films, you shall have to report back and tell us what they're like! I've not always been great at brownies but found a recipe online yesterday and they were really yummy. Although they are quite stodgy and moist so I think they're best as a pudding rather than just to have with a cup of tea. They were lovely warmed up with the ice cream. :)

So it sounds like a few of you are doing Kon Marie? I like the 'does it bring you joy?' question but I fear I may empty my house with that one! Not because nothing in my house brings me joy but I know I keep a lot of stuff because I feel I should or 'just in case'! I might have to get a copy of the book and see what it says. I feel like I need some good ideas for clearing out and storing things.

We had a lovely day yesterday with our friends, not as hectic as i'd imagined. Nice quiet day today, it looks quite sunny out of my window at the moment. I think we'll have a nice roast chicken dinner today. :D

Congratulations, Peppapig on your new grandbaby, and love and hugs to all our grandnibs, hope the rash goes Freespirit, Feisty, my fingers crossed for you.
I find the kon marie method too ruthless, to be honest, maybe cos l'm too old or have so much joy in my life????.
Poor DD is having a tough time trying to secure her tenancy and HB, the council have cancelled her HB since her DH died, and the housing association are not prepared to wait, so she is having to fight them all as well as grieve! She doesn't need this aggro, so Mrsl girds her loins (metaphorically) and enters the fray!!
On a happier note the garden looks a bit better, and the greenhouse bedding plants are hardening off and putting on lots of growth, soon be ready to plant out.
Off for caffeine and then tackle mount ironmore. xxx

Go MrsI - we're all right behind you and your girded loins. It amazes me how cruel the system is in the case of bereavement - as if your DD is really in any position to think about things like housing benefit and tenancies, I expect it's taking everything she can muster just get up in the morning.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes on latest DGS - it's amazing how quickly you forget how small they are.

Very envious of you and your cooking Free and PrincessKitty - I've got one cookbook, had it since I first got married in 1979 and have used three recipes out of it (all for cake lol). I love the idea of cooking just not the act. I do like eating though :D
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Evening everyone, i hope everyone has had a good weekend! Thumper "graduated" from his swimming class today and the photo DD2 sent me was hilarious, his little face was so unimpressed with it all haha he cracks me up. He starts the new level next week.

PRINCESSKITTY glad you had a lovely day with your friends and the brownies were a success

MRSINVISIBLE it makes me so angry, your poor DD doesnt need all that she needs to be able to grieve without worrying about a roof over her head :mad: i hope you are able to help her get it all sorted

PEPPAPIG i think i must have a problem :D i have 102 cookery books :eek::eek: omg i am going to kondo them this week, lets see how many i can let go of???

Oh mrsinvisible, your poor daughter. I bet she can't even think straight let alone deal with all of this this! I swear they forget they are dealing with human beings with situations in their lives, why can't anyone spare a little compassion? I hope it all gets sorted very soon.

Peppapig sometimes I think I should only have one cookbook, i'm someone who needs things simple but I do tend to overcomplicate things for myself! I'm not good with too much choice, I find I can't think straight, hence why I can't shop in department stores! :p

freespirit 102 cook books?????!!!!!!!!!!!! Blimey where do you keep them all?? And I thought I was bad with 30! :p Well done to Thumper, what a clever little man. Although you have reminded me that I really need to take wiggle swimming!

Evening everyone, I baked and decorated DD2s cake today, its ok but i think i have iced the owl a bit wonky :o oh well never mind!! I am so glad she has taken over at the helm of family birthday cakes, although i must admit i did enjoy it today, we were texting each other at each stage we had got to, as she was making DS cake at the same time!! I cant believe they will be 24 on wednesday, mind you, you wouldnt know it seen as tomorrow they are going to a trampolining place the big kids :D:D but it does mean i have Thumper for a few hours :D

PRINCESSKITTY i know i couldnt believe it when i counted them last night!! But i did start collecting cake decorating books pretty young as i started making and icing my nans christmas cakes at 13 years old. The thing is now though i have all these books and i still go to Pinterest first for ideas!!! I kondoed my baking bits cupboard today, colourings, cutters, cake toppers and decorations, tubes of icing, nozzles, candles etc that must be the first time ever i have cleared it out so you can imagine how old some of it was, i keep everything in 3 big Really Useful Boxes so they are all tidy now.
