JJ great to see you posting again! But please remember to REST so you heal up and then hit the sales.

I done my sales shopping on Christmas Eve at 7am lol. Was only boots I really needed/wanted stuff from. They're due to arrive in store on Monday :)
My plan was to tidy up all the rooms to make room for all the Christmas gifts...... and also to have a good clear out. But I've now been hit with a heavy cold again :( 2nd time in 3 weeks, which p's me off as I'm never sick. So haven't gotten out of my pyjamas in 2 days :o It's just aswell they're comfy:rotfl:

Anyhow I'm well jealous of the snow everyone's getting. We had heavy snow today, but thanks to the lovely Irish rain we've been graced with it wouldn't lie :( We now have ice instead.

Off to have a nose around some more sales online, and hopefully not spend any money:o
I do wish that The Card Factory sold their Christmas stock online too though as I need more Christmas cards now, no wrapping paper though

  • Evening everyone,

MANDCO aww hope taz feels better soon, bless him!

CHRISSY oh he looks so happy in that picture
Maybe if you gripped them in an intimate area with force and said "nice d I ck" they'd get the message. You'd probably get the sack bit what a way to leave eh!!! It would be the ultimate in equality.

  • Well done everyone on the sales shopping, I am a little envious ;)

Mojo that is a fab idea lol

Well I'm making the last batch of mince pies today, I'm popping to a family members to enjoy a few and leave the rest ; ) thus time I'm making cream cheese shortcrust which when cooks makes a glorious semi puff, but without the hastle! I still have 2/3 of my christmas cake left and I've decided that I shan't be making another one next year - it's too expensive and we don't love it enough to justify it. In fact I think we will end up giving most away to save it from the bin, not very MSE!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

feisty - I have a little bag similar to that, it has alsorts in but they are a god-send when you need them!! Shame about the christmas cake :( I'm planning on a smaller one next year I think.
    Chrissy - he is adorable!
:rotfl: Mojo that is the BEST idea!!
irishrose - you have just reminded me that I need to look on Boots website for some stuff  I hope you feel better soon!! It's awful, think i'm just getting over my second cold in around the same time and last night OH was shivering but felt hot and achey, luckily he is feeling better today, although we are having a day on the sofas again!

I have one gift in the re-gifting box, a baylis & harding bath set. It's lovely but I can't use it as doesn't suit my skin.
Going to have a nip on to a couple of sites to see if there is any sales stuff we need and or can be gotten for gifts.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Newthrift I received a mobile phone case and purse set - nice gift but the mobile phone case doesn't suit my mobile and the purse is a little small. I use cash when shopping therefore sometimes accumulate a lot of change and the coin section is not big enough.

I'm afraid to say that the person would have been better just giving me the money instead. The gift will probably go to the charity shop as I can't think who to regift it to.
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

  • Hope everyone is well and staying wrapped up in the warm. It's bright and sunny here but blooming cold so I am sat at the computer with a hot water bottle shoved up my jumper :D I refuse to put the heating on when I am sat in just one room and the OH is still in bed.

Have started trying to find homes for presents and have started a charity shop pile whilst I do that for other things I find that I never use and I will drop that off to them the next time I get my hair cut as there are loads in the precinct. Am also trying to be ruthless and throw away anything rubbish that's not good enough for the charity shops in an attempt to declutter a little bit.

The tree won't come down until next weekend as I like still having it twinkling for new year but I have already taken the cards down as I was fed up of not being able to see the clock from the couch!

Haven't yet been to the shops but have been having a little look online for a few bits and bobs and may take a wonder in this week as work doesn't open again until 5th Jan and have to make the most of the time off :)

Hugs and hot water bottles to all.

Nicki, before you clean your window could you post a photo of it please? You didn't post the one you did last year, and I really wanted to see it - you are just so talented. I wish I could paint the way you do.

I can't paint that well! I use stencils made from photocopied colouring books or print outs and a felt tip pen to mark the lines out first then artist brushes to paint. This Christmas its much more colourful as I bought new paints so no longer have to mix the different colours to the same extent :D

Here are the past 3 years windows. I'm going to do them just as links as I can't get the hang of the new look ph0t0bucket so can't edit the sizes lol

  • Many thanks for sharing Nicki.

I definitely think you are very talented. I could not make windows look like that, stencils or no stencils. The painting must take you hours to do :T

  • Love the windows Nicki, they all look fab.
Not braved the sales yet, and have decided that the families New Years day pressies will be "we owe you" vouchers for something we can do with or for each of the kis and their partners over the coming year.
Found a huge bag of cards and wrapping paper in the attic on Christmas eve so well stocked up with those for the foreseeable future lol.
Hugs to all that need them and hope that everyone is well.
