We probably won't do much for NY here either. I have some party food left over from when I had family around before Christmas so I'm going to prepare all that for tea but I suspect DD will be too tired to stay up. She's hit the "sleeping all hours" stage of being a teenager. Yesterday I got a text from her dad enquiring if it was normal for her to still be in bed at 12.30 when she went to bed at 9.30 the night before :rotfl: She hasn't stopped to chill since about mid-November, except for at the most an hour on Christmas eve when everything was done and she was waiting on her dad arriving to take her away! Then she spent Christmas Day & Boxing Day travelling 88 miles each way to spend time with her dads family as there was no room for them to stay over  Then her twin cousins (who are 4) always wear her out
I foresee a very quiet couple of days sat in front of the tv or her sleeping late. Good job she's not back to school until the 5th! We will go and see my family at some point, but when (I was thinking NY day) will have to be decided on. I'm actually itching to take the rest of the decorations down, but I promised I wouldn't take them all down until DD got homeCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
All the decorations down here, just want my (very tiny!) living room back. Popped out to replenish the food for NYE. Just need to make sure the kids don't find and eat it all by Wednesday. We never go out for new year, we usually sit in with Jools Holland's Hootnanny program, so just using next couple of days to clear up so we have room for a bit of dancing around.

Christmas 2015 - started to save/wrap!0 -
I'm another one that doesn't really like NYE - there's just something faintly depressing about it for me. Anyway, we usually either go round to my sisters and spend the evening with them, coming home after we've seen the new year in or do more or less the same thing but at home. New Year's Day is DD's birthday so we'll be going there to spend it with her this year which I'm looking forward to. If DGD isn't at her dad's on NYE we may even go to DD a day early and babysit if she wants to go out. The last time I went 'out out' for NYE was the millennium when we went to a party lol. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

Hi everyone, found you at last!
After a very busy week (Christmas obviously, and then mums wedding yesterday) I am now looking forward to a few days peace before work starts again.
Santa was very good to us all, I hope all you lovelies had a fab day xx
Oh, my birthday is 28th November if u want to add me on xIt's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
I'm another person that doesn't go anywhere at NYE but I'm very glad to see I'm not the only one. I'm working on Wednesday and will be up at 6.45am so by the time midnight arrives I'll probably be ready to go to my bed!
I don't drink alcohol and hate going to pubs/clubs where you can't get a seat so going out on NYE would probably be my worst nightmare!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Well I've bought all the picky bits plus the cheeses etc from xmas. It'll be fun I'm sure. No bargains bagged in asda. Did see those mason cups in home bargain and don't know of I should have grabbed them. . . .
I get emails from mortgage free in 3 and this guy says to spend 11 mins writing down at least 30 things you want without worrying about the how.
Sounds a bit like the secret so ill try that later - nothing ventured nothing gained.
Take care everyone x0 -
Evening everyone, still a bit pine needly in here the hoover kept blooming blocking up and i had to keep unblocking it so gave up in the end, and someone has used the broom and not put it back, so will do rest of deccies tomorrow and put away in garage
PEPPAPIG haha that made me laugh 2000 was actually the last time i went out for NYE too, we had just moved into the village a few weeks before and they were holding a torchlight parade up to the common, i thought we would join in for the kids(probably the last time i joined in anything villagey as well) as then i turned into a social phobic/recluse
PINKNFLUFFY hope your mums wedding day went well and all to plan

Evening!!
Another one that can take or leave NYE. We have gone out other years buts it's always over-hyped and I can do without letchy blokes coming to kiss me
Last year we went down to a friends house where there was nibbles and a few of us and we are doing the same this year. We are stopping over which means I can have a couple of drinks which will be nice. Although I don't drink much, it's nice to have a couple in celebration!
Still not really picked anything up in the sales, neither me nor OH have fully ridded our colds so that isn't giving us much momentum. I am hoping by tomorrow it should be gone!
Decided defiantly on hampers per couples next year for Christmas, they will mainly be foody based I think but will have a nosey on Pinterest to see if anything else comes to mind.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Haha freespiri I think its like to go to America. And not put the barriers in place like I'm not employed so have no money etc just dare to strive and things will find a way.
I'd just want to be happy and no mortgage. Since we got the wood burner fitted the house is calmer we are all transfixed by it! !!
Broad church was on and I still can't believe it. Will defo watch the next series I'm hooked.
I did treat myself today. Home bargain have put all xmas stuff away but spotted one of those one for tea teapots with a vup underneath I've always wanted one so I got it. I'm working out of two offices next year so that is going to my new office and it takes two cuppas to get going so I can do that when I'm doing paperwork first thing! !0 -
I also don't do NY. I am going to a friends this year, but there will only be 3 of us, so not really what you would call 'a wild party' :rotfl:
Went sale shopping with dd today after we got the car jump started !!
Bought ds a Joop gift set for next Christmas and some stocking fillers.
Then ds phoned to say his new fish tank was too big for his bedroom so could it go in the lounge !!! Ps it is white !!!
So tomorrow we are moving some furniture around to fit the tank in ! I had just bought some more Christmas ornaments, and now I will have nowhere to put them. And they are soooo nice.0
