Ooooh excited to bump into you Linky your DS creases me. Bless him, always makes me smile. Is it white? Please tell me it is, I won't be able to sleep wondering haha xxx
I'm going next door for NYE spending it with my very special friends/neighbours DD and DGD2 are also joining us so it should be wonderfulx
I've not ventured into the sales or even online, payday not till the end of the month yikes, feels such a long time since the last one! Need a few new packs of cards (maybe 2- if I behave myself) and who knows what bargains I will need when I see them.
I'm a traditionalist when it comes to taking the tree/decorations down. Won't be till twelfth night, although to be truthful some of the decorations didn't even go up this year. Just ran out of time! Linky I missed you, keeping me on track. Although I've still enjoyed every minute.
Off to see Paddington tomorrow with DGD2 and my lovely neighbour and her three darlings, should be good fun. I shall report back xxx
B_e_g I've just noticed your signature. That's unbelievable well done you. Go girl, you must be up for slimmer of the year. Amazing, congratulations, I hope you are very proud of yourself superstar xxx

I believe this is my first visit since Christmas and to the new thread (I did pop in and read but I don't think I posted) so hello all, hope we all had a lovely Christmas
We've been super busy, my aunt and uncle gave both me and my sister IOU's for chickens for Christmasso now were in the process of building a coop in time to rehome a cockerel.
I did a teeeny bit of sale shopping, diary inserts for my filofax, was very MSE - filofax £6 ebay. Inserts from paper chase 2014-2015 mid year, BUT! 18 month ones... so 6 months of 2014 went on the fire, and I still have a full year of 2015but paid 90p instead of £3! crazy. I've bought Christmas cards, as I didn't get any until pretty much Christmas eve this year I thought I'd be a bit more prepared, and I've treated myself to earrings and a bracelet from accessorize both half price
The rest of the money I received for Christmas I'm thinking about putting towards a gym membership...
I've actually gone and made plans for NYE! I'm going to a friends, then either people are coming there or we are going to her sisters we're waiting on hearing others plans. I usually avoid it, people like to watch the fireworks, I hate them, the last thing my Nanny did before she died was watch the fireworks. But made plans I have...
I can't sleepand I feel sick I am so tired, so now I can't sleep because I'm uncomfortable... aahh!
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -
Hi all, time to pop onto the new thread! Thank you so much 3forholidays for setting it up, much appreciated.
newthrift huge congratulations!!! What an exciting time! Have lots of fun planning the wedding and try not to get too stressed (easy to say) and we want updates! You're probably already doing this but I found Pinterest hugely useful when planning my wedding, I started a board and got a real feel for what I wanted my day to look like.
springdreams congrats on becoming an auntie again, lovely news.
nic sympathise with working in a pub, I worked in one years ago and had the same thing. Once the landlord came back a bit drunk and said he wanted to fertilise my eggs!!!!! I'm sure he was only joking but when the landlord is also doing it you've got no hope! I really hope you can find something more suitable and where you won't feel uncomfortable.
Welcome dragonlily and azjh77 :hello:
We had a nice Christmas, my family came down for the day. The only thing that marred it was wiggle and I having such bad colds, I hated seeing him struggling. I don't mean to sound like i'm blowing my own trumpet but I was really proud of the Christmas dinner, it's the first I've hosted and I have to say it turned out really well. Admittedly my mum sorted out the veg but I cooked everything else and pulled it all together, including making my own Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and bread sauce. Bless DH, he took wiggle out for a drive as he needed a nap so I could sit down and enjoy my dinner as I wasn't able to last year. Although does anyone else feel like they've blinked and missed Christmas this year? I just don't know where it went! I think part of it was because we were supposed to be going to see DH's family on Saturday but we've all been too ill. We're hoping to go to theirs on NYE but we fear my DH will have the dreaded cold by then. I always keep my decorations up until 6th January so I've got a little more time to enjoy them.
Well in true Christmas nutter style I have already started my spreadsheet and present buying for next year! I got a friend of mine some snowman socks and slouch slippers, i'm going to get a mug to go with them and make a kilner jar with hot chocolate, marshmallows and a bottle of Baileys attached. I gave another friend these things this year and wrote 'Have a cosy Christmas' on the tag. I also got another friend a lovely Emma Bridgewater pen and wallet set from Boots. I haven't ventured into the shops though, I've bought online and now it's all waiting for me at various shops!
Anyway sorry i'm going on a bit now, I hope you're all well and not too cold. It's been freezing here but no snow. Normally I wish for snow but I don't want it this year as i'll end up being housebound with a baby!0 -
Have been invited to a house party in a very fancy house for NYE, the people aren't fancy just lucky in business & like to spread the joy. My ds & I will prolly go, oh is unwell so I might forgo the drink & drive us there, will save the 40 odd quid a cab home will cost.
Saying that though, ds has been poorly & today I feel like I'm coming down with something so depending on how we feel we might not go at all.
I'm seriously thinking of going away next Christmas, have already suggested we just do secret santa for one person, spend 60 quid but just once (apart from the kids) as it gets to the point we are just giving each other a lot of stuff we don't really need or want. I spent about 300 on ds but another 400 on others & tbh, no one was grateful nor that interested. Would rather spend the money on a week away. Am going to speak to mum about it, maybe a cottage on the Isle of White or somewhere like that would be much more festive & we would get to spend the time together playing games & taking nice walks rather than the "going through the motions" this year felt like.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Morning all,
I'm off to brave Tesco in a bit for some salad stuff for New Years day .
Someone has posted on FB that Home Bargains have packs of miniature jams dated well into 2016 ideal for a food hamper.
I'm in full swing for DD's 18th in April almost all her pressies sorted just her bag and a few bits to get, Then its onto OH's Sept birthday. They are the only 2 I regularly buy for .
Well I have to go and brave Tesco ! wish me luck .lol
Tesco was really quiet it was a pleasure to shop and unlike Morrison's they had cleared the snow/ice away.
I have started to save the Tesco stamps for next year that along with what I save on my Iceland card will be more than enough. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Thanks Nana. Yes I feel so much better but sadly still a long way to go but I will get thereAs for SOTY - I do stay to class but hate any kind of fuss but I am delighted to say that there are a few others who are having great losses and could give me a run for my money (quite literally :rotfl:) Your NYE sounds lovely - hope you all have a lovely time. Enjoy Paddington.
OMO - Mia is a real cutie
Well the tree and decs have come down this morning. Just watching Last Tango in Halifax and then I will flick the duster around and a quick vacuum. Don't usually take things down this early but hey ho.
Went to the shops yesterday but didn't buy any pressies or Christmas stuff to put away. DH bought one of the Taste the Difference Christmas Puds (900g for £3.40).
Take care everyone

Hello!
This NYE we're going out for a Chinese meal with Mum. When I lived at home dad always insisted we had a Chinese takeaway on NYE, usually quite late on around 11pm. I took the tradition with me and me and dh always have a Chinese but I can't eat that late these days though...or stay up that late
So this seemed a compromise so to speak - keeping the NYE Chinese tradition but with a twist. We're eating quite early (7pm) as mum and DH have plans to watch the Queen concert on tv with a drink or two at home.
NY Day is SIL's birthday so a buffet at MIL's is a given.
Hope you all have a wonderful New Year and wishing you all a very positive 2015 xxxx0
