  • Lovely night thanks Feisty. Just having a cuppa and DH has just opened some grappa truffles and I have to admit I have given into temptation and had two - well that's the closest I've been to alcohol all night. ;)

Hope everyone is having a lovely peaceful night. Around midnight I thought we must have moved to Beirut with all the fireworks that were going off  I hate the damned things.

Anyway HAPPY NEW YEAR once again. Just finishing cuppa then off to bed for me.

I hope you all had enjoyable evenings whatever you were doing, I was in bed by 10pm (that's late for me at the moment!) but I did kind of see the new year in as all the fireworks woke me up! We are staying at my in-laws though and had a nice meal last night.

I wish you all a happy and healthy 2015, I know going into a new year doesn't take troubles away so I hope it is the best year it can be for you.

feisty what an absolute pain! I hope you don't have to replace your fridge and that your car doesn't need too much doing to it. These things do have a habit of coming all at once annoyingly. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Have a lovely day everyone xxx

    Happy New Year everyone

I just managed to stay up until midnight [only just !]

My 1st post of 2015 is a request for inspiration. I want to buy my DD a "name a star" gift but I'm struggling with the naming bit ! There can only be 22 characters and a space is classed as a character. Her name is Hannah , does anyone have any suggestions ?

My decs will be coming down today other than that there's nothing planned.

Trying to get up...5 more minutes...
Promised the family a nice cooked breakfast and a roast today ( may as well set totally unrealistic standards that I will not be maintaining for the rest of the year! - back to spag. bol. tomorrow!)
Then, a tidy around and check if I have any work due next week - I know I have an exam next Friday, so better start revising for that too.
Happy New Year 2015 everyone - hope its's your best ever!

    Happy New Year everyone!!!!!

Well it was a quiet night at home for us and I was in bed before 11. Unfortunately I was then up again at half past and again at quarter past midnight because the dog couldn't settle. I can't even blame the fireworks because she started before they did!!!

2014 hasn't been a very nice year for us losing DH's much loved aunt (2nd Mum) and his eldest son. He's still having trouble with the grieving process but is starting bereavement counselling with Cruse next week so hopefully that will be a positive start to the new year. My hope is that 2015 will be a big improvement and I hope it's a fabulous year for all of us Christmas fruitcakes :D

Off to DD's today as it's her birthday and I've got all her pressies here so might not be on again today - hope you all have a good one.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Happy new year all I hope whatever you did last night was good.
We ended up playing buzz scene it with dd3, her fiancee and ds2 then watched the fireworks both out side and on Tv and ended up toasting the year in with a cuppa. Lol we know how to live.
Got everyone round for dinner today so should be making a start soon.

Hope you are all as well as can be and the new Year is kinder than the last one was for most. Hugs

Best wishes for a happy, healthy & prosperous 2015! :)

I managed to stay up until midnight and went to bed just after - but had to wait for the fireworks to stop going off before I could get to sleep!

    Happy new year _party_

We had a nice night in the house. Had some nibbles and some cava. We were in bed not longer after the bells.

I have a lovely big steak pie for dinner today. I was considering taking the decorations down today, but I think I'll do it tomorrow. One more day to feel like Christmas will be nice.

My kids are just fighting all the time. My lovely little girl has turned into a 9 year emotional horror! It's her who instigates it all. If she is out the younger 2 play and get along lovely.
She was such a nice little girl. Would do anything for you, kind, caring and sweet. But in the last year she has changed. Always crying, telling on others, arguing, giving me cheek and 'the look' . It's breaking my heart and bringing me down. I know they change as they grow. But I want my nice girl back :-(

I can see Influences from friends kicking in. Her friends are nice on their own but together they are different. Always so catty to each other.

My resolutions is to carry on woth Slimming world and keep losing weight. I also want to keep the house tidyier so if folk appear at the door, I can let them in lol.

I also plan to take a course of some sort to try and get a better job. Not sure what though x

What a nightmare with your fridge Fiesty. Not what you need at this time of the year. We also saved for a Bosch one hoping it would last. Still ok but it tends to freeze carrots.

    Hope it can be fixed.

Quiet night for me last night. I tried to stay up until the OH got home from work but at 2.30am when he still wasn't back I gave up and went to bed! Had already wasted time by taking all of the decorations down from the tree, just have the tree to put away this afternoon and move the lounge back to the normal arrangement for most of the year.

Did pop into town yesterday and picked up some of those fluffy/cosy socks from Primark at £1 each to go in presents this year and some Charlie bodysprays for my mum's hamper from Superdrug for less than half price each.

Sorry to hear all the problems feisty, why is it these things always happen at the same time?

Hope your DD has a good birthday today Peppapig
