We have loads of snow- The only downside is the dog wants to play outside which is fine but its cold so when I close the door he howls like a banshee.

    Congratulations Newthift :j

Glad you had a good Christmas JJ. You are one of the more positive people I've 'met' and love reading your posts.

No snow here either, just frost. Would love a wee dusting of snow

I'm shattered after a busy shift in the pub last night. But I was really fed up after getting my bottom felt on the way by a guy, getting grabbed for 'Christmas kisses' by a couple other, a guy giving me his number and getting annoyed when I wouldn't take it and another saying he was enjoying watching my bottom as I walked up the bar ( he was leering at me :( ) I know this is the banter working in a pub, I used to laugh It off when I was younger, but now as a mum and wife I just dont think my £25 a shift is worth taking that carp!

Have another shift tonight, so more of the same :(

  • JJ So pleased to 'hear' that you managed to get all your presents wrapped in time for Christmas. :T Well done you!

nic2075 Sorry to read that you are having a difficult time with the customers. Drunk people are very annoying as they don't listen!

Especially when I'm sober lol. They kept dragging us up to dance. I get the same stuff most shifts, it was just especially bad last night as it was a big crowd of guys. I suppose I should be flattered, but some of the stuff they say shocks me and I'm not all that prudish!

I've just been to the shops to buy my special relation cards for next year. My local high street branch of card factory had slimmer pickings than in previous years, so if you want a choice between designs you may be better heading out sooner rather than later.

Plenty of gift wrap still available (up to 6 rolls for a pound) but I resisted as my gift wrap box is still full from previous years bargains :D

  • Oh nic that is awful :( would you be able to change jobs? My mum used to work at our local sainsburys and it seemed they had lots of hours to suit various schedules (including night/late shifts).

DH is especially bah humbug today, I'm planning on quickly dragging him out for some fresh air in the hopes it perks him up!

dragonlily - Welcome to the thread :) yes I tend to stock up in the sales if I see what I like!!
springdreams - Congratulations on becoming auntie again :D
JJ - that is fab!! Well done for getting it all wrapped and everything!!!
Freespirit - Yes and No :rotfl: We have discussed getting married next year and he took me to choose my ring but it was a complete supirise Christmas morning him getting down on one knee as I had convincined myself it wouldn't be Christmas day (that way if it wasn't I couldn't be dissapointed)!
Nic - Sorry to read that, it is awful!!! I hope there won't be any or at least less of it tonight!!

Well we normally have a family gathering on boxing day which we did, but me and OH had to make an escape home as the snow kept coming and what is normally a 15 minute journey took 1 hour  we only got a little stuck once but we did 10-15mph sometimes slower but we got home in one piece, car included!!
There is still plenty of snow this morning, around 25cm so since I am housebound i've decided to start taking our decorations down, but will leave the tree for now. It always looks so bare.

3forholidays Could I please add my birthday to the list - 18th Jan :)

Happy Birthday for those I have missed!!!!!!!!!

I have not even looked at the sale stuff yet I am still on cloud 9 and have already penciled in the photographer and marquee people eeekkk :T

OK coffee finished, time to start tidying!!
EDIT: just realised I have not said - thank ok everyone for your congratulations :D
